This is some type of collection agency, not sure...

I called the number and spoke with a legal administrator  by the name  of Elena a real b***h
she refused to help me next day i got serve at my job by an office with legal paper's now i have to go court what a b***h

We received several calls from this number.

I got notified by my brother (who lives in Nebraska... I currently live in TX) that these people were calling him asking where I lived so they could serve me with papers... He let me know and I told him to go ahead and give them my number so i could see what it was about.  In the meantime, I called the PD and the Sheriffs Office over there to see what it was about.  Neither one had a clue why someone was trying to "serve me".  The next day, an "officer" called and gave me an (877) number and a "case number" and told me to call them and ask them to cease and desist.  I did that and good ol' Steve Darwin was there to tell me about a credit card I got from a state I didnt live in and had appearantly made payments on for 5 years (one of those years I was in Iraq... pretty tough to do that) and that if i didnt show up for court tomorrow in Nebraska (on saturday...) I would get a judgement against me and have to pay court costs and get my bank accounts froze and cleaned out, cars taken, etc, etc, etc... Well people, I called the local county and district courts in nebraska and nobody had any knowledge of my "case".  I promptly got an attorney who called these people and yelled at them and havent heard a word out of em since! I dont know if the court cases are real or what would've happend if they had been able to "serve me" the papers... but my advice to all of you is -GET A LAWYER ASAP-  and then they'll go away ;)  Oh, and just in case you decided to google yourself STEVE DARWIN, F*CK YOU! How'd that trial go??

That is so funny this people have been also calling me and i also did my research on Blackstone
Group they came up listed as a Legal company not sure but they where trying to help me out  
resolve a credit card matter that i totally forgot about i was out of the country.. so i didn't  like the way  
this Mr Steven was talking to me so i decided to take it to court .. i did got serve with legal doc's the following morning i regret that i didn't take the matter serious but what cant i do .. I guess show up in court
i did try to call them and try to handle matter out of court they refused to work with me

Received a voice mail asking me to call back within 24 Hrs regarding Case #..... to resolve it before going to court.  I have no idea what that's about! I don't have any outstanding debt.  I think someone used my address and now I am being harassed. I will call him tomorrow to find out who is using my address.

This company claims to be The Blackstone Group but they are not. I dont have the actual name of the company but they are based in Ontario Ca, they use the name The Blackstone Group because the real Blackstone Group is a large LA based law firm. I called the law firm today and they have no affiliation with any representatives at this number. The operator did say she has received quite a few calls from people claiming to have been called by her firm. She has noticed that most people who call have recently applied from home or auto loans, this leads us to believe that this is a company that has been purchasing debt portfolios from creditors.
I called the the 877 number today to ask the name of the company and less than 5 minutes later I received a call from Steve Darwin from number 909.456.1240, he was very harassing and again threatened with legal action. I called both my local count clerk office and sheriffs department and there is no pending litigation against me.

I looked up the phone number from Ontario at the ACA (association of credit collection professionals) and this number is not listed as a member. I then made a call the the FTC consumer reporting line 1.877.382.4357 and made a formal complaint against whoever the actual company is.

Yep, "Steve Darwin". He's a moron that works for Nationwide Credit, Inc., a debit collector. He and "Inspector Jim Ryan" and "Officer Kayor" have been hounding me for days. Only this time they're from the "County of Orange" here in California. These dumb-a***s are bottom-feeding weasles. Can you imagine what kind of person it takes to stoop to debit collection in order to make a living? They are supposedly coming to my place of work tomorrow to serve me a cease and desist order. Cease and desist what? Holding my vehicle illegally? Hardly. I officially filed for BK in the Superior Court of Orange County over 24 hours ago, so they can go f*ck themselves.

I just got a call in reference to my son who lives in another state to notify my son about possible arrest for civil suit. My son needed to call this number to prevent officers from going to his house.  He said his name was Officer Firestone.  I think it was a debt collector harrassment.

I got the same call Someone called me from the Process & Servicing Div  and they adv me that in 24hr they wher going  to serve me with legal doc's the person that called was very nice gave me and # wher i could call i get more info about File ...So i called the ## spoke with a very helpfull person by the name of Steven from Blackstone  he resolve my isue in knowing about what the case was about he wasnt asking for any $$$  he only adv me that i had optiopn to take care of matter if i like so i gave me 24hr to resolve isue i decided to try my luck and go to court what a big mistake i commited now i have to pay all this legal cost and a judgement on my record what big mistake i comitted

Received another call this time they weren't from the county clerks but from the county processing division... which also does not exist.  I followed up with the employers they claim to have attempted to serve me at and neither had been contacted, I have not been contacted at my listed address.  Anyone on this site claiming this is ligit is lying and probably working for the company.  They claim it is from the BLACKSTONE GROUP which I cannot find anywhere and it is not on my credit with that business name.  Also there are no pending cases against me in the city or state I live in.... these people are committing a crime misrepresenting a government agency.

Got a call from this number saying they were the county clerks office and they have tried to serve me twice at jobs I haven't been at in years...but never at my listed address???  Told me to call this number, I called the county clerk who said there are no cases against me and they would not make such a call.  They also informed me it is illegal to use these types of tactics for debt collections and to keep the voicemail so I am.  THIS IS FRAUD...

That's is bull they cant do that arrest u for what ? i know i got served with paper's and the officer gave my H.R lady the Document's  they did ask for me but i don't give a Fk i will show up in court and tell them that

Guys and gals, no need to fight... I am ashamed to say this but I am all to familiar with this whole process, heck, this is why i am even on this web-site, I got a call last night and someone left this #, I wanted to check the number out to make sure no comments speak of fraud, which they don't. I am gonna call them and try and set up some type of arrangement... Only reason I say that is because the same thing happened to me a few months back and I didn't call and wound up really getting served,  went to court and loss, did you guys know that CA is not an Arbitration State? which means the court system could care less about your reason for not paying back a loan or credit card... Yes that is probably why they are calling us, because we all owe someone, it just seems like since this depression began, banks are ruthless in their attempt to collect a debt, now they are using lawyers to do there dirty work, got to love it!

P.S.
My only advice is to continue to run #'s through this web portal to see if there is anyone or everyone saying that this company has comitted fraud or something, not to indulge in gossip and guessing...

I got a call like this as well, just last week... and someone came to my house but only my lil sister was there and she is only 17 yrs old, she said a man knocked on the door and asked for me and that he had legal documentation to serve me... Did anyone have a fake person come to your door? Maybe I should call them, what if they are serious? I'm calling, will post later to tell you my feed back.

These last 2 posts sound like trolls who work for the collection agency.  Why would they serve you the summons at your job and not at your home?  Makes no sense.  If you're being sued the court would issue documents to your current address, not your place of employment.  I would ignore the past 2 posts.

THEY REACHED ME AT HOME I DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT THIS WAS A STUPID CALL LIKE ALL THE OTHER BILL COLLECTORS THAT LEAVE MSSG ON MY PHONE... 24 HRS LATER THEY WENT TO MY JOB. I HAD TO SIGN FOR MY COURT SUMMONS I WAS SHOCKED AT FIRST AND THEN EMBARRASSED BECAUSE EVERYONE AT MY JOB NEW I WAS BEING SUED.. IF THEY CALL YOU JUST CALL BACK AND SEE WHAT THE CALL IS FOR

My sister just called me and said that she had received a call from this same number today and a person who identified himself as Steven Darwin said that he worked for the San Bernardino Country Processing division.  He also gave her another number that was his "direct line" but when I look it up it says its a cell phone.  They use the usual threat stating that I was being sued and papers were about to be issued but they could stop the process if I made a payment today.

This sounds like a debt collector.  I would be very careful of anything they say, especially since the other poster was told "papers were being served."
