This lady told me she represented an insurance co. who insures my mortgage lender. She had a lot of information regarding a forced placement of insurance when we stopped making payments deliberately because my lender (Fifth Third Bank) are unorganized and didn't know what they were doing and misapplying payments and it was a mess. They were doing interest only payments and everything. The loan was a mess since it's conception. After six months of fighting them we stopped making the payment to get their attention and insurance payments - we were ready to give them back the house. They forced insurance. This lady asked about any claims or promises for any payments from her client. Her co. was NIA and client is Republic Insurance. She knew the time frame and asked income questions which I didn't answer but mentioned she even called my husbands ex-employer who is on record (and accurate info) but of course the employer didn't release information. I didn't either. She was fishing for something I kept it short. We are tired of the bank and have given them back their house.

I was told me she represented an insurance co. who insures my mortgage lender. Republic Insurance.   She knew the address of the timeframe and seemed to have information about the loan, but I  didn't answer. Told her I would look at whatever she wanted to mail to me, but she had no interest in that.

NIa consulting LTD a division of interthinx, they represent the mortgage insurance company on certain mortgages with pmi (private mortgage incurance).  They want to make sure we were treated fairly and accurately when we purchased our home.  Apparently, the lender may want to file an insurance claim if when we defaulted, and from what I told, before they pay anything, they want to make sure the loan originator did everything correctly.  so I guess the insurance companies, just don't want to pay money they feel they aren't obligated to.

RE: John, so I guess the insurance companies, just don't want to pay money they feel they aren't obligated to.

Yes, if there is fraud in the loan file-example your loan officer filled out you make more than you actually do-fake employment-they left out a liability-a borrower who represented they would occupy the residence but actually bought for a child/friend-or the loan officer asks the appraiser to bump up the value (i worked for an appraisal company for over 5 years and this happened a lot)--then the insurer should not have to pay out a crooked company for their loss when they lender could not have approved them if the truth was told on the loan applicaiton.  THIS is why our economy is in such horrible shape.  So why not answer their questions?   Help out.
