They called me saying they need to verify "location information" but won't say who its about or what company they are from.

Thank you to this website and to those of you reporting this!  I have started blocking numbers like this on my comcast voice system.  I will add this number and suggest that you all do the same. Kevin Shwartz (sp?) left message (computerized) to call back about a file he had on his desk re: someone we know to clear this up blah, blah blah.

Some guy named "Kevin" has called twice. Says something about "verifying location information on someone we know" and that he "cannot leave proprietary information on a voice mail" . He urges me to contact him immediately at this number. I have not called him back, and do not intend to. As matter of fact, I DO intend to go to my cell company site and block this jerks number....

These calls are from a collection agency called JNR of which you can find them on jnrcollects.com as the specialize in recovery of car rental accidents/claims. Even though my credit card insurance paid for the bill, Hertz sold the account and these scumbags collect on what they can get. Here are other numbers to watch out for including some local lines:

caller ID showed a local number, since I did not recognize the number I let it go to voice.
I listened to that, the first part was cut off, however it was a live human who said her name was Kelly and wants me to return the call to 877-591-7634

The part that was recorded did not state what the call was regarding.

I am in Afghanistan the above number keeps calling my mother's home for me.

Various men, the latest being Bruce, keep calling over and over and over, been going on for over a month,  with same message, something about my needing to contact them right away to verify conflicting info in a file.  Getting really tired of it.  Have never returned the call and won't.  But really would like to learn how to get the calls to stop.

How do know the it's an agency for the IRS?I got the call this morning,from "Bruce",with the same message as everyone else received.This has to be a scam.

We had this number call us today saying they were trying to collect a debt. The man was rude and mean, after arguing with him and being hung up on I called back hours later to get a address to dispute the debt the man would not give it to me and hung up on me again. I then called back for the address again and he refused to give me the address without having my soical security number. I got three different names but all the same guy Terry, Kevin and Doug! BBB has nothing nice to say about this company imperial recovery management solutions "aka" Regent asset management solutions"

same here, numerous calls, same message, call "franklin" back to verify conflicting info on file. How do they get my number? why are they calling?

It's a collection agency that's outsourced by the Internal Revenue Service.

This seems to be a plague for all of us.  I get the same voice mail. It has been going on for over a month now, and the voice has been both male and female, with all different kinds of names, the last being Franklin.  This has to be a scam, and offering any kind of your personal info could constitute acceptance to bill you for anything they want.  I ignore and erase, but they just keep on a'comin'.

They've called me four or five times in the last three days.  They won't say who they are or what company.  They're only looking to verify location information regarding someone I know.  Waste of my time.

Just called me....only a recording saying call them back to "verify" information on someone I know..in a file on their desk...I called back..and it said please hold while I connect you..and I hung up after waiting 2 min. in silence
