I just got a call from this person saying they were an agent from the IRS and there was a warrant out for my arrest unless I paid $1922. I kept telling him I never lived at that address. I knew it was phony when he said the IRS does not need to be hassled and that they don't need my money but that there would be a warrant out for me within hours.

Called me threatening suing me and reporting me within the hour if I did not send cash immediately to cover an audit on me. I very politely said to put it where the sun don't shine. Then I hung up.

Got the call on a business line using my first name. Claimed to be *unitelligable name* from the tax order department with a claim against me as my name has come up in tax fraud and "people" are filing a claim/complaint against me and the sherriff is coming to arrest me and take me away and I will be "helplass". Heavy accent sounds Indian. Bogus.

An Indian Guy called me up saying he was from the IRS and I was being Audited and sued for money owed.
This was a scam. Luckily, I was in front of my computer, kept asking him to go into more detail, and googled the incoming number. He said he had to transfer me to his supervisor, but I asked him, why does he need to transfer me if he is the IRS Agent? I was able to pull up his number on google and said "NO You are Scam Artist" and that's when he started yelling and hung up the phone.

At my ex-wifes house, she received a message on here machine wanting to speak with me, and needed my personal information. The number was 877-597-7311 and his supposed name was Steven Marks. The message claims that I have pending lawsuits against me (which I am positive I don't), plus, I haven't lived at that house for 3 years now, and have filed with a different phone number for the last 3 years. I Just called my stepson (27 years old), and he told me the guy had such an accent, that he had to listen to the message twice just to understand the return phone number.
Now I have already received my 2014 state refund (RI) on 2/4/2014, as I was accepted early. I think that were there legal issues tied to my SSN, I would not have received a dime. GOT TO BE A SCAM. Best of luck to anyone who falls for it.

Yup, same thing just happened to me. I called the IRS and asked if they knew about this. The official IRS assistant said he had heard of something like this. He looked at my previous tax returns and said I owed them zip and more than likely this could be a fraud. I was never asked for payment by the caller but said they were going to mail me a letter. I tested the caller saying in the past when we were questioned by the IRS we received letters saying we owed them. When we followed up with them, they sent us another letter. When we called, they followed up with a letter. This call came from out of the blue. That to me doesn't seem right. SCAM.

Is there anything that can be done to catch the people calling from 877-597-7311 claiming to be from IRS and claiming that if we don't pay them right away we will arrested? They keep calling and even called this morning at 6:30 am. Can you imagine the impact on someone who fall's for this? Who do we tell about this?

Same #they left the message in my sister law phone and telling her they will take her house and jail them if they dont respond and she is shaking out. And when she call back they asking all those informations about financial and locations. Sound like a group scammer / terrorist trying to make some $ .

I received a call from this number today also. He said IRS was suing me and demanded that I make a payment today over the phone. He said money had to be paid today with a bank card. I asked him to prove to me I was talking to the IRS and he gave me his badge number of 3511992 and said his name was Harry A. Peterson (very unlikely that his name was Harry Peterson because I could barely understand his Indian accent). I told him giving me a badge number doesn't prove that he is with IRS. Told him I would just call the local IRS office and ask them about this call and he hung up.

Got a call from this number today. Caller left a msg. Don't think the IRS is out-sourcing to India like everyone else. Sounded drunk. Said I was being sued. The IRS sueing now ? I think not.
Indian is where all the scams our coming from now. Scary call exact for them not knowing how the IRS works like letters in the mail. Now those out scary. Lol.

Also, haha, my son just called him back to mess with him and asked him for his id or badge number and guy told him to get lost. Haha, those foreigners know some American expressions. He also gave an American name like Brad Nelson.

Same thing happened to me today. I knew it was a scam because of the man's heavily Indian accent. He said my son would be arrested if he didn't call him back and talk about an IRS matter and his social security number. Yeah right..like that is really going to happen. The IRS would send out an offiical letter to your address, not pay some foreigner to call me.

Someone called me claiming to be from the IRS. He gave me a last name of Paul. He had the most unusual accent, that I could not Identify. He sounded as if he might be drunk. He claimed the sheriff was coming to arrest me and was going to freeze all my accounts. IRS agents Identify themselves with a number. Sheriffs don't get involved with the IRS. I have also been getting calls from someone that identifies themselves as the DEA and want me to send money to avoid arrest. looks like my number is on some suckers list.

Wanting to know what company this is as they keep calling my home phone and asking for someone who has never lived here. It is getting very annoying, told them to take my number off their list, they still call.
