The call is legit. They needed to verify information about my monthly Medicare prescription premium.

Got left message, just call an ask for my birthdate and name. Found out my birthdate was wrong in their system. Lady transfer call  to other and been on holding then hung up on me.

I don't know what number you dialed but it wasn't 877-620-9171. Either you're a troll and making this up or you're talking about a different number.  You have an awful lot of detail about what info they wanted. Why would you stay on the line after they asked for both you and your husband's SSN? I would have hung up long before they asked for the power of atty info. This is why you message smells of BS.

I don't know who you talked to at Silverscript but 877-620-9171 is a Silverscript number. They left a complete message on my phone and when I called the number back, which did appear on my caller ID, It was SilverScript. It's bad enough out there with bogus phishing calls and nasty bill collection practices without spreading vicious rumors about legitimate phone calls.

This is from Silverscript. If you or your Mom and Dad are receiving Medacare you'd better accept this call or return the call ASAP.  I'm ill and on SSDI. I was receive what they call Extra Help. Which is supposed to offset your Medacare and help cover your pharmacy bills. But since I'm now receiving $200 over poverty level, it doesn't matter that my medical and pharmacy bills are so high I have to pay $4700 out of pocket plus 104.90 premium to Medicare, well I'm ill and since they take that 104.90 out of my SSDI before I even get it I didn't realize I now have a premium for the prescription of 31 dollars per month.  Apparently they started charging me this TWO years ago and I get a call today that I now owe them $800 in late premiums.  I don't have this.  I have to come up with $493 each month just to cover my Remicade infusion therapy. I'm overdrawn each month with my bills just to pay everything, last month it was $485 in the red.  I don't know what I'm going to do.

Answer your phone or call them back.  Don't end up like me...

No, I'm afraid they are asking for MUCH MORE than that. The lady I spoke with wanted my SSN, my husband's SSN, who he had insurance with, proof of my power of attorney (which is in my husband's medical files that, if that was a legitimate call, they should already have on record), and other personal information that I do not care to disclose. They were not forthcoming in saying they were in any way tied with SilverScript, but claimed instead to be an independent insurance company. Nope. It's a scam, folks. Don't do it !

Silver Script Rep says he can find no such # as 877-620-9171. He also said the Silver Script # provided by Grubb was not one of their #'s.

I have received (at least) 2 calls in the last 2 days from this number.  But the name field on the caller ID says "unavailable" - without the quotes.  They identify themselves as SilverScripts - a Medicare Part D provider.  I was unwilling to provide them with the detailed information that I requested (HIPPA protection items).  I was unwilling since it was a "self-provided" telephone number.  I ended up calling the SilverScripts phone number 1-866-236-5660 that is on my monthly Prescription Drug Summary.  After walking through several menus, and lots of research by the Silver Scripts representative, we go to the bottom of the problem that they were calling about.  Bottom line - it WAS a legitimate call, but the practices that they followed tripped all the "fraud" warnings that we are all cautioned about.  I suggest that they send real mail if there is a concern with someone's account.  They should provide a verifiable telephone number that is listed on some of their actual correspondence.  The process that they are using just trips the alarm bells for those of us who have been paying attention to all the fraud alerts that we are subjected to.

Heh, everyone here seems to be freaking out about this number.  It's one of Silverscript's billing department phone lines.  The information they ask people to verify is because of HIPAA laws, because they can't give out medical info to the wrong people.  All they're asking for is people to verify their name, birthday, and address.  I returned the call for my mother and the woman on the line was very friendly and they just wanted to make sure she had the new address to send her bills in to.  It's CVS' medicare plan.  They didn't try to sell my mother anything, it wasn't a survey, it wasn't a collection call, it was just the billing department for Silverscript.

Call from 877-620-9171 - Said they were with Silver Script and had urgent information.   Gave me this number to call and verify but would not give any other information.  Needed by address and birthdate before they would give me any information - and continued to say it was urgent.   I called silver script company and they said we called about account info and sent them a fax.   We did not send a fax or call them

This number has called my 90-year old father twice saying he owes money for Silverscript, his prescription insurance, which he doesn't owe.  Shame on them.  Do NOT give them any financial information or ID numbers.

They have called twice and refused to give me information about themselves and are asking me for my address and other information before they would tell me why they were calling.

Someone from this number called and was supposedly from a pharmacy.
