I received a call from a sony marteniz stating that I had to appera in court on serval charges and that she would go to my home and my place of employment to do this left a phone number and a case number can they do that?

It was a debt collector.

This is a harrassing debt collection agency that is using illegal tactics to collect debts that may or may not be valid.
They use scare tactics alleging that there are charges pending against you, then quote a case number that is in no way connected to ANY court of law, they try to get you to verfiy your address in an effort to serve you with a notice to appear. Almost sounds believable, yet not credible, due to the fact they refuse to give you any information as to what the matter is pertaining, they have limited info on you, and not one speck of personal data. When  you question them aggressively, they just hang up. "DON'T BE DOOPED, THEY CALLED YOU, MAKE THEM TELL YOU YOUR INFO!!!" They can't, the info they have on you is taken from a people search profile, lists last known and previous addresses, don't tell them anything.

I got the same call and this number has been calling relatives and friends who I personally have not been in contact with for years to try to collect MY debt, I just had the police here and its completely legal.  They claim that "locator" services in our own respective states are doing the calling.  Liars and scam artists, and I will be sure NOT to pay them just for the harassment.
