I was called from this "early stage collections" number, and I wasn't even late. In fact, I usually pay on the 9th of every month, when my bill is due on the 19th of each month, so I wasn't late in any definition of the word, you lame a**. Your lame company charged an annual fee, which put me over the limit, and you lame a** people started calling me 1 time a day from the number mentioned and 2 times a day from Unknown for a total of 3 times a day. I finally answered one where you lame a** people identified yourselves as First Premier on the caller ID. I would have answered sooner, but I work at home as a transcriptionist from Noon-10:30 pm. The person asked for me. I said yes this is me. I got the whole "this is an attempt to collect a debt" speech. I then said, okay, here's the deal, I know I'm not late. My bill is not due until 19th, and I usually pay on the 9th, so I'm not late. The only reason you could be calling is to make me aware that I am over my limit, due to the huge annual fee that was just charged to my account. If it's all the same to you. I'll pay the bill on the 9th, which is in 4 days.

The person then said, yes, you're over your limit, but I don't know why we're calling you 3 times a day when you're not even late. We are so sorry. Oh, and want another credit card? Your limit will be 400.00, but we'll take out 100.00 for an annual fee, and we'll hit you with that again in a year, and if it puts you over the limit, you can look forward to being called 6 times a day to make sure you know you're over your limit. I told her no, and that if I wanted another credit card, I would consider a secured card at a reputable bank before I considered another bottom feeder card. So this is the over the credit limit number apparently too. You are working for a bottom feeder company that harasses people that aren't even late on their bill, but just went over the limit.

I wasn't even late on my bill. Yet, they called me 3 times a day, 2 times from unknown, and 1 time from First Premier. Why were they calling? Because I was near my limit and the annual fee came due and that put me over my limit, and that made me go into collections apparently. I was finally able to answer and told them that I was aware that I was over my limit, that it was because of the annual fee, and that I planned to pay around the 9th like I always do. My bill is due on the 19th, so I always pay 10 days early. Don't judge people. These people harassed me for going over the limit, even though my bill wasn't even due. Once I told them I was going to pay on the 9th, I suddenly stopped getting 3 calls a day. Even the collections person and her supervisor thought it was a little excessive, considering I wasn't even late. Oh and the kicker, the collections rep offered me another credit card with them. Yeah right. I'll raise my credit and get a better card that doesn't harass me just for going over the limit. What do you have to say now, bottom feeder?

Called me tonight asking for my wife's info - used her maiden name. Were very insistent - I gave them nothing and searched - A Hoax. Person's name was gayle - the 877 635 2569 number answers with a typical bank menu asking for your credit card number etc. - pretty slick since sounds exactly like every other phone system one calls these days. They even said to contact the bank in Sioux City at the end - well there is a FIRST Premier Bank in Sioux City with none of the contacts #'s given by the scammer. ?? even about them since no 'human' or actual address given.

Same thing ... 6 calls each day for a name NOT at this number.  It is a new number for me ... but why can't they accept they have been screwed but 'Ray' and that he has given false info or skipped-out.
The public needs to forward their scamming calls to representatives that are suppose to uphold the laws that we vote in. Guess being on the DNC list is pointless if it's not enforced and the callers are never going to change their lists.  The rudeness of most of them is outrageous.   NO ONE is forcing them to work there.... why be a creep about it?

Been getting 6-7 calls from an unknown number about late payment. Gave the number 877-635-2569. My wife called and when asked for her ssn, he gave it ( I told her she shouldn't have) and they said just ignore the calls. They said they were from premiere bankcard. Now we are worried that her Identity has been compromised. Should we worry?

Keep in mind debt collectors use skip tracing companies to provide them with phone numbers when they no longer have a good contact number.  It is not at all uncommon for the skip tracers to provide old and/or inaccurate numbers.  I work in our call center here, but I am not a collector for the company.  If a debt collector has your number listed for somebody that does not live there just let them know that.  They will remove your number and send the account back to skip tacing in an attempt to find a current number.

In regards to the number 877-635-2569, this is the number for Premier Bankcard's early stage collections group, which I believe is the 30 day past due bucket.  This is in fact a valid Bank/Credit Card company.  I work for this company, although I'm not a collector.

Our weather alerts go out from a similar number and when I was looking that number up I saw this one, so figured I would shed some light.  If you don't have any cards or accounts with Premier Bankcard I would suggest calling the number and explaining that.

While it might be possible for a scammer to use a false number on caller ID, scammers can't steel another company's number or route another company's call to somewhere else, so if you actually call 877-635-2569 you WILL reach Premier Bankcard's early stage collections department.  Just explain to them whats going on and see what they advise.  I'm not in that department so not sure what their procedures are for that stuff.

These people called again today on my cell from Premier Bank and finally after waiting and pressing 0 over and over again, I was finally directed to someone in their "call center." They are calling for the same person they have been for the last 6 months. I told them that I don't have an account with them(never have), I had no idea who they were looking for and that they needed to remove me from their call list as this is not a home phone number, but my cell phone(and who they're looking for is not me.). The lady(lot's of background noise, and more like someone's apartment than an office-LOL.) on the other end was nice and told me that she would remove me, but I don't know we'll see. I think she may have been just trying to appease me by telling me she'd remove me, but since I've never been able to get through to a real person before today, hopefully, the calls will stop now that I have actually talked to someone.

I have not ever had an account with them, I have ZERO debt and I have ZERO credit cards. They call me relentlessly all day asking for someone else. I don't know how to convince them that it's NOT ME! I am a FEMALE and they are calling for a MALE! I tell them that this is MY number. MY name is one the bill and I am NOT married. NO man lives here. He asked me to prove it by giving my Social Security number to him so he could pull up my credit to show my address and info to verify that the person he was looking for didn't have the same address as me. Yeah....Um....I don't think so.

Called yet again this morning for a "Level" or "Les" from a man named "Charles" who wants a call back at this number(it's NOT going to happen as a.)I'm NOT him! and b.)I will NOT leave credit card or SS info just to talk to someone about removing me from their call list. This is nearing the 20th call this month and they have NEVER had a response from me, so why they won't just give up is beyond me.

If you idiots calling from this number happen to see this(and can read/speak English)read this clearly:
I WON'T ANSWER ANY "UNKNOWN" CALLS WITHOUT A NUMBER nor will I even answer  any "UNKNOWN" calls even with a number if I don't know you or have no business with you! I WILL NEVER ANSWER YOU BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW YOU OR HAVE ANY BUSINESS WITH YOU!!!

Wow, you're so smart Perry! I'm sure that if people actually HAD accounts/debts with this Bank, then they'd understand the reason behind getting these calls and wouldn't be posting here in the first place, but...

I have(and NEVER had one)NO account, bills, never filled out any applications with them nor done ANY business with these a**holes in my life. And they are now calling my CELL PHONE-NOT Ok! IF you can read Perry, you'll see that MOST of the posters here who are being harrassed by those calling from this number, have NO debts or accounts with this "Bank!"

Here is an idea: Why don't you try READING THE POSTS before posting something so stupid!

These people are calling my cell phone at least once(sometimes 2 or 3 times a day!).  I do NOT know any person named "Les" that they are calling for, I have NOT(nor have I ever)done any business with Premier Bank! I have NEVER even filled out an application with them, I do NOT have an account with them, nothing-NADA! Until today, I had been getting "unknown" calls almost everyday since Dec 7. The calls all came without a call back number or a message left (it just showed up as a missed call and "unknown")so I had no idea who was calling nor could I call them back to tell them to stop. Today, they finally left a message for "Les"(my voicemail says my name and it's clear that I am a FEMALE, not "Les.") with a number. When I called it back to ask to be removed from their call list, I found out that I couldn't even talk to anyone without giving a SS or credit card number first, WTH??? 1.)Why do I need to give personal info just to talk to someone to ask them to remove me from their call list and 2.)Why would I give ANY number when I don't have any business with them? I just hung up. I'm so tired of these people calling every freakin' day! What can be done about this? I guess nothing since it doesn't seem like being on the Do Not call list helps me these days from the telemarketers/scammers. I guess the only thing I can do is change my number(my this is my CELL PHONE, not a landline number) yet AGAIN, Ugh!!!!

Hey betthgrim,

Most of us here DON'T have ANY debts or even an account with this Bank, but are still receiving harrassing calls from them or from scammers posing as people representing that Bank. Our problem is that we can't get them to stop calling our home and cell phones, despite having nothing to do with them.

In the future, know what you are talking about(and try READING the posts too)before posting. Not doing so just makes YOU look stupid!

Maria,

The problem is that there ARE legitimate First Premier Banks out there. What you saying may apply IF you actually have an account with them and they are indeed the ones calling you from a legitimate First Bank(remember, that debt collectors are exempt from the Do Not Call list. They are NOT telemarketers, but are collecting on a debt.)about a legitimate debt. If however, you do not have an account or  have done any business with them, then they have no business calling you(in this case, they can be held accountable for harrassing phone calls as you have no business or debts with them.). The problem here is that many of the calls that the folks here are talking about, are scammers and NOT legitimate First Premier Bank employees. These calls are not really coming from First Premier Bank and so even though the advice(with the Bank's info)is appreciated, it's not going to help in most of these cases. It's going to be difficult to hold First Bank responsible or sue them for harassment because the calls aren't coming from them, but people posing as employees of First Bank. If you call or write about this, chances are that they aren't going to know what you are talking about. You may be able to write them(DO NOT give them your credit card or SS info-That's foolish! If you have no accounts with them, why would you do that? Just let them know that you are recieving harrassing cell phone calls in their name(Give them the 1-800 number that called you! they may not even be aware of this going on)and let them investigate it. Though they can probably ensure you that they won't call you, remember that they can't stop the scammers out there who are using their name to harrass you because the Bank doesn't know who the scammers that call you( for all we know, these scammers could be people from overseas.). It's hard to catch these people because they keep moving and using different numbers to harrass. I'm just P*ssed that they are bothering my cell phone now(I've only had the new number a few months now, but obviously I've got a bad one!) and I can't do anything(but change my number once again)to get away from it!

I received an "unknown" call on my cell phone from these people at 12:46pm today(it's the first time in 2 weeks that they actually left a message. Usually, they hang up before the voicemail kicks in and it just shows up as missed called and "unknown" with no phone number to call back.). They were looking for a man named "Les"(I don't know anyone named Les and I'm certainly not him. Even my voicemail gives my name, so clearly they should know that they have the wrong number if they were really legitimate.)Anyway, the call today came from "Premier Bank," needing to speak to this person "Les" concerning his account. I don't have any credit cards, nor do I have any business with Premier Bank(and never have) yet I keep getting unknown calls(often without a phone number being listed, so until today I didn't even know who was calling. Heck, I was hoping it was a crush who was too afraid to make himself known-LOL. After today though, I know it's most likely these creeps! ). I called the number back only to discover that you can't even talk to a real person until you give either a SS number or credit card number(yeah right!). I just hung up. This is clearly a SCAM folks! Any legitimate company will allow you to speak to someone WITHOUT having to give out any  personal/financial information. If they require this before you can speak to someone, then you know it is a SCAM!!! Most likely, they will disconnect once they have this info and you will not be able to speak to anyone anyway, don't buy into it!  I am on the Do Not Call list and this is also my CELL PHONE, it's not a landline number. They aren't supposed to be calling CELL PHONES, if you can find them, they can be sued or fined for doing so! I'm just sick of them calling everyday and wish I could come through my phone!

I have exactly the same problem with these people. They keep calling several times a day for a Phillip Cook and I have politely told them on at least two or more occasions that I am not Phillip Cook nor do I have any idea who that person is and that they have the wrong person. My name is also not similar in any way to Phillip Cook. My number is clearly published under my real name. Their number used to show as "Unknown Caller" but after blocking numerous numbers in an attempt to slow them down, they are now showing up as "Unavailable". Anonymous call blocking does not work against them. I do not have any debts nor have I ever had any dealings with First Premier Bank. I will not jump through hoops and I've read enough horror stories from other people to believe the best way to deal with these creeps is to wait until after the "Please hold for an important message" crap and when someone comes on the phone, use an airhorn or a piercing whistle to deter their illegal behavior. Who are they going to blame, Phillip Cook? Go ahead a***oles, make my day!

I recently started receiving numerous messages from this company, Premier Bank Card.  I don't owe anybody anything, so it is NOT a collection company.

What I've done in the past, and seemed to work, was to answer the call then IMMEDIATELY hang up, without ever saying anything or talking to anyone.

Usually, if they make an outgoing call, they are not charged unless the call is answered.  By "answering" the call, then hanging up, they are charged for the call.  They get the message that you know they are NOT legit and you're not going to talk to them, so they stop calling.

DON'T send them your SSN!!  Are you nuts or do you just want to make their job that much easier to steal your identity, commit fraudulent acts against you, and steal all your money from your bank accounts??

I am absolutely POSITIVE that they can find your phone number and take you off their call list WITHOUT any type of account number and certainly without your SSN!!

They call me several times a day always showing as "Unknown Caller" on my caller ID. It is always for a Phillip Cook whom I do not know nor do I have any idea who that person is. I have never had any dealings with First Premier Bank whatsoever. So, to the jerk who says pay your bill dumbass, I say stuff it up your wazoo. I don't have ANY debts. All my bills are paid and I have NO credit cards. I nicely asked whoever it was on the other end of the phone to cease and desist because I am NOT the person they are asking for and I have a published number which clearly states my real name. They stopped for about three days and then started right up again. My name is not even close to Phillip Cook in any regard so what do you say to that betthgrim? You must be either a fool or a shill, perhaps both! I see I have one more obnoxious number to add to my block list (thank you all) and maybe I'll buy an airhorn.

these people are idiots, cell phone numbers get reassigned all the time, there are not an unlimited supply of them, also many people simply make up a number on the application, to First Premier you MUST be the person because the  phone number matches,  they call my house and job at least six times a day, they claim my wife has an account, which she doesn't,  I've asked them to prove the account exists in writing, statements etc, but they won't, they also say they don't have the address, odd since we supposedly have an "account" with them.

I keep getting calls from "UKNOWN" multiple times a day. Finally they left a voicemail telling me it's Premiere Bank and to call this number. They said it's a message for someone, stating some strange name that does not even remotely sound like mine.
I called the number and got customer service who would not help me. She told me to pick up the phone next time they call and tell whoever picks up then that they have the wrong number.
After pestering her, she transferred me to Debt Collection. There, Elizabeth in Debt Collection told me that she could not help unless she knew the account it was associated with. I do not and never have had an account with them. After pestering her, I got her to just look it the account by phone number.
She said some person had my cell number listed as their work number. She said she removed the number from the account.
Creepy. That took 9 minutes. I could have used those cell minutes...

Easy fix - all you have to do is send them a fax (605-357-3185) with your name, address, account number or SSN, and state that they are to cease and desist from contacting you by phone.  That usually does the trick, but if that doesn't stop them, send them a letter by certified mail, return receipt requested, again telling them to cease and desist contacting you by phone. Here's their address:

First Premier Bank
601 South Minnesota Avenue
Sioux Falls, SD 57104-4868

They are legally obligated to stop calling you if you tell them you do not want to be contacted.  This is your right under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  If they do call you again after you've faxed them and/or sent a certified letter, you can get an attorney and sue them.
