Anyone who threatens arrest, or calls themselves the "Department of Crime Prevention" is a scammer, probably  spoofing numbers of known companies in order to scare you into giving them money. Always, always demand written verification of a loan, never, ever agree to payments over the phone. You give up a lot of rights when you agree to make payments. Don't let them scare you. Demand to deal with them on your terms, not theirs.

Sounds like a scam to me, extortion scam. And no you are not responsible for any "fee's" of any kind if you didn't take the loan.

I also filled out a loan with american web loan and have been advised by my lawyer that bankrupcy is the best route for me and they will not stop calling and as for the phone calls my lawyer advised to remind them under the fair debt collection act they cant not herass u or call at work and they to come a reasonable agreement on repayment i have reported to the better bussiness berou and i thank all for their adress and ur imput good luck and talk a lawyer asap for your own protection

I got the same call. I filled out the information to see if I qualified for the loan but never completed the loan process. I got called today and couldn't even understand the person talking. Saying something like I was being sued for fraud! WTF! That is crazy! I explained that I never even completed the loan and they said I'm still responsible for the cancelation fees. This company is a joke. Thank god I didnt compete the process. What ever happened? Do they still harrass you or did they show up at your job?

I applied for a loan with these guys but declined the loan.  I just received a call  from Hale & Coleman Legal Associates and they are stating that I am being investigated by the Dept of Crime Prevention for fraud of banking regulations.  When I asked to speak with someone who speaks clear English so I could understand what this is about I was told that an arrest warrant would be served on me at work on Friday.  I tried to explain that I did not receive a loan so do not understand what this is about I was told that even if you decline the loan you still have to pay back all fees for financing.  I told Patirck that I was told if I declined the loan that was the end of it.  He again said that they would send the affidavit and arrest warrant to be served to me at work on Friday.  The number they call from and have you call back is 323-426-6360.

I work for a bank where a customer went through this company. We have tried stop payments and they DO NOT WORK! account needs to be CLOSED ASAP and yes they will use different amounts and different names. BEWARE!!!!!!

They are also going by Accurate Finance too. Trying to get them to stop deducting from my account. Can't reach a person so have to send another email.

They keep harassing me and i think they called at work!  I never applied for anything with them and don't want it and just cussed them out for the harassment and stated that I would report them to the police!

I have offically decided to ignore their calls.  I have talked to my bank and they told me that I have paid more than enough to them with the interest only payments.  My bank has advised me that they need to send me a letter verifing the debt and an address that I can send payments to.  They refuse to do that, so we're stuck there.

I have been with AWL for a bit.  Yes they are expensive I must admit.  This is my forth loan with them.  I finally got a loan approved for 1000.00. with a 270 interest to pay back.  I didnt have a problem until i lost my job.  Now they wont even work with me to pay off the loan for 1000.00 is there anyone out there that can give me advice

Thanks for the info.  I am so upset with AWL.  They are harrassing me at work!  If I try to talk to them they get very nasty.  They won't stop calling me and screaming at me!  It's so unprofessional...  I can't pay for legal council, so I have to just deal with it, but trying to figure out who can help!

I just received a call from this company.  I did take out a loan...big mistake...and got myself in a situation where I was unable to repay.  I tried to set up a payment arrangement with them, and they would not.  They told me it would be passed on to their law offices.  Very rude once I told him that I could only pay $50 a paycheck until it was paid off.  I figure something is better than nothing...but apparently that's not good enough....

Yes, this is a payday loan company, and if you visit their website and fill out the application, they will call and call and call and call you, even though you don't complete the application.  Eventually, they stop calling.  I know it's hard to ignore a ringing phone, but if you can stand it, just let them wear themselves out .......

I filled in my information for a loan, as a last resort. The contract page popped up, and before I could read to the end of the file a representative called me. I could not understand what the person was saying so I hung up. I have been receiving phone calls 3-4x's a day for 2 weeks now! I NEVER AGREED to their terms, nor did I put my e-signature on anything. I wish they'd leave me alone!
