Stop saying its phone factor you idiots.... lab200 and John I'm looking at you... I wouldn't be surprised if it was you stupid Idiots that are actually doing it and trying to impersonate genuine people.

Its NOT GENUINE. If it was genuine, the first result of the phone number in a google search would take me to the phone factor company website, instead of this page!
I've had 2 viber calls and 1 standard call within ten minutes. Asking me to verify my Microsoft account! I don't have phone verification for anything!

Folks, its not a scam. What's happened is, a corporation sets up what is called, "Dual Authentication Log In" for their employees who are telecommuting and using their computers out of the office. This means, the employee, in order to log into their outlook email, has to click a button, (our company calls it the VPN, not sure what that stands for). This button triggers within our system the computer to call OUR cell phones. We have to answer the call and hit the hashtag button. This then lets the security protocols know, it is really us, and we can then access our outlook email/calendar, and our intranet.

when someone like you, gets these kinds of calls, it means that someone made a typo at the organization when they put in the new employee's number and put your number in by mistake. I am not surprised you get the call over and over. This means, somewhere out there an employee is, every frantically no doubt, desperately trying to log into his/her computer and is locked out, because the call, not coming to thier cell phone, is coming to your phone.

I don't know how you could find out what organization it is that has input your number in by mistake, nor how to notify the employee of the situation. My guess is, nobody has this happen for more then a day or two, because the employee is going to have to notify IT that they aren't getting the dual authentication VPN call to their phone, and as such are locked out of the system, and they will check it, realize they have the wrong number and correct.

So...no scam. Just typos, in a world that requires people to have ever tightening security protocols for their internet/work life.

No, it's really Phone Factor. My company uses their services for VPNing into the company's lan. I launch Cisco AnyConnect, enter my password, and Phone Factor calls me to have me enter my passcode. It verifies the passcode, then Cisco AnyConnect allows me to again enter my password and log in. And that number is the number that Phone Factor calls me on.

I received a call from this # today. I didn't answer. They left a message. The message is garbled and hard to understand. Says something about "group options" and then something about "not able to be verified."

I have no idea who it is or what it is all about. I don't care. It's spam. It's a scam. And these pricks need to be stopped. Like, YESTERDAY!

Caller ID shows the phone #.
Where the company name should be, it only says, "Toll Free Caller"

Yeah, but if you haven't signed up for it it's SPAM.  Someone has either maliciously or erroneously entered your phone number.

Phone Factor.  It is an identity verification service.  If you or someone signed up to have a website call you, like myopenid.com, to verify login.

IOW, you try to log in,
The website calls you,
Follow the automated directions,
Done.
