Constant faxes received from health insurance scam!!!

I got a fax with this toll free number (877-670-8802) advertising health insurance with a limited time offer.  I called and they even faxed me some more details. Sounded legitimate.  I gave them all of my information, SS#, DOB, bank information. They took money out of my account and I never got the information they promised.  When I tried to call back to check on it the toll free number was no longer in service.  The fax that they sent matched the name of the insurance company "Premier Health."  Somehow, between the phone company, bank and law enforcement you would think that somebody should be able to follow the paper trail back to these folks.

I have tried for a year to get off their fax list. Impossible. A quick online search reveals that their stop-faxes.com name, listed on the fax for removing yourself from their site, is registered to a Japanese company. Maybe they think it's legal if it comes from Japan....?

It may be that the only way to fight back is for enough people to be calling them back and costing them money to receive calls via their toll free lines.

Any more details-is this a scam?
