Got a call from 1-877-680-3328 identifying themselves as Debt Safe on 10/2/07. They asked me for the cards I was currently using and the amounts I had incurred on them. After several minutes they came back to tell me I would be approved for their program to reduce my interest rate and that a profile package would be coming in the mail. They said there was a fee of $990.00 once the package was completed and that you could also enroll online when the profile package came. This appears to be a scam and you do not need to give them any credit card info. Beware of anyone calling you under the name Debt Safe. They're scammers!!!

Got a call from 1-877-680-3328 saying they were with Versa Debt (later I was told the charge to my credit card would be under Debt Safe) telling me they would guarantee to reduce my rates on my credit cards to a fixed rate of between 5%-10% for the life of my cards and that their financial advisors would work up a financial profile for me so I could pay off my debt faster.They guaranteed to save me 3000.00 dollars and that I could be out of debt in 5 years not 20.I was also told they would not take the charges from my card till I had received the so called package to sign.What a laugh they took the 990.00 so called charge to save me money the same day.Three days later I called to cancel as the terms and conditions written in writing so small you need a magnifying glass to read but I did said they promise you nothing and can change the terms and conditions at anytime.They also told me I would see in writing the promise of fixed rates lowered to between 5-10% but of course that wasn't there either.We all know credit card debt can be a pain and I think if my mind wasn't with a husband in Iraq I would of not been had by these people.The red flags were there I simply ignored them.I was later told I would have my refund in 1-3 days,then it was 7-10 business days and lastly it was that by law they had 30 days from the transaction.Well it's now been 47 days and of course nothing.I just today spoke to the so called supervisor there named Geraldine (I have a last name but won't put it her cause I doubt it's her real name as most there are named, "Smith,Jones or Brown" if they will give you a last name most times they hang up on you if you ask.)I have since reported them to the BBB which they have until Nov 9th to respond and the FTC and the Attorney Generals Office as well a few others as I am determined to stop others from the fate I received and like I said I should of known better.Today I was told I would have my money in two weeks and when I asked why Geraldine had told me herself that it would be all the other dates she had promised and I still didn't have my money why should I believe anything she said.Geraldine said there was a glich that held up my money and when I inquired what was it she said she wasn't at liberty to say.I then said well you told me you had 30 days by "law" to refund my money so I guess you don't follow the law I got the same ole song and dance, like "the check's in the mail".I have been hung up on my this so called company so many times for asking what is your physical address or what's your name or what is the status of my refund it isn't funny.This whole ordeal is far too long to state here as I have been dealing with them almost on a daily basis since Sept 22,2007 but I have found so many names they operate under it isn't funny,Versa Debt,Debt Saft,Debt Suites,Account Services,Consumer Services,Debt Freedom just to name a few there are more and the billing inquiry number listed on the sites which is 800-350-3046 only rings busy you can't get anyone you have to call the so called customer service #877-680-3328.To all those that haven't been scammed by them,run and those of you that have report them to the BBB and the FTC and the Attorney Generals Office sooner or later they are going to fall.It seems to me when people start complaining they change their name and continue now what's wrong with that picture.Check the BBB on Debt Safe of which they are not a member and the report says their business practices are not to be trusted.Just hate I got "smart" too late.

I was told at the begining of the call that they represented my credit card company.  I was also told that due to my excelent credit rating that they would not charge me but take their "cut" from my projected savings.
at the confirmation call the new operator infromed me my card would be charged. I replied sarcastically "WOW what a deal lower interest rates and a higher outstanding balance".  I then informed them that I was going to further research their company and if I was interrested I would call them.  after hanging up I was called again by an "over agressive" sales rep who did his best to intimmidate me into taking the deal. when he told me that if I called back I would not be receiving the same deal. I told him I wanted NO deal at all.  He hung up angrily.   S to the C to the A to the M.

Let me know when you get your welcome package and if you think this is legitimate.  I'm skeptical, but signed up as well hoping to reduce my debt.

I used to work the company for 1 day. I believe it was also a scam. They dont allow  you to give out any information such as name of company, where they are located, etc. It is all a bunch of bull if you asked me. I would not do business with them. Beware!

I am currently involved in reducing my debt with this co.  I believe they are legitament.Still waiting for the lawyers to process.

It was Versa Debt, I also got a call on 8-23-07. Do you know if there legal? I got papers in the mail from them, but not sure, if this is a scam or not. Dose any one have any information about them? Let hear from you.
