Yes,  they tried to say that I owed a bunch of money from a payday loan from years ago.  Unfortunately for them, I did my homework and was able to identify the actual company that had purchased my debt and it was not them! The people on the phone calling me called me so many times it became obvious that it was not legitimate.  Someone from the payday loan company extracted my personal information and has now apparently went out on their own in hopes of scamming people.  Thank goodness I figured it out before I gave them more money than the original loan was worth.
Don't be a victim to these people.  Don't offer any information.  Ask them where they are, who owns their company, why their contacting you, who the attorney is, where she went to school, etc.  Ask them whatever you can and take notes because they WILL slip up but they are good at the scam.  They almost sound legit but if you stay on task and lose the fear, you will notice it is all a bunch of crap.

got a call from 877 457 5136 I believe she said her name was frances said that she had 2 charges

Same for me Caller's name was Jaqulean Wood and left a message Saying they had a summons for me to appear in court and gave me a case number. So being how serious a court summons can be (warrant for arrest, judgements against u can allow them to garnish wages and put liens on property) for not showing up, I called the county clerk and the DA Nothing for my name showed up and nothing for the case number given to me showed up.

Shows up as restricted but a person named Dee Johnson says she is going to summons me to court is I do not respond. Her call back number is 877-690-2460. not sure exactly if this is a scam or is truly a potential court hearing. Seems fake to me because I searched the case number that was given in the message and nothing popped up. In fact other cases popped up with the same number so I'm thinking the case number is definitely made up!
