yeah, i got the same thing. I don't believe it, so I just responded STOP. I got another text saying that I have successfully unsubscribed. Its sad that we have to get SPAM texts now. talk about low.

8 texts within 10 minutes at 7:00 AM Saturday morning. These people suck.

Got a text 1/24/2011 12:29PM on cell from 51297 saying I've got a $200 gas card, call 8776951619 to find out more, reply TXT STOP to stop.  I don't even want to reply to these guys.

text says I can get a 200$ gas card.  from 51297

I just had my cell phone carrier credit me back the charges and block that companies text messages.

Just FYI they charge your cell phone $9.99 a month.

I have never subscribed to anything. Will this show up on the bill? My parents will kill me.

I went along with these jack***es with a rarely used debit card, that took the initial $2.99 charge.  I never did get squat from them for 2 weeks.  However, as soon as I deposited money into the account for quick useage, they got me for $60. I tracked down the "customer service" that had me on hold so long, I lost battery on my cell.  I then called these jack***es incessantly asking for sex, for satisfaction, the whole bit, as they would continue hanging up on me!  Finally I called as "Harry", "Harry Balls", but they saw that it was me calling, and put me over to some Bindi named Sonjay, or Achmed or some such turban-head name.  He apologized gave me ANOTHER number but I then told him that one way or another, I was going to get my satisfaction, be it card, voucher, or money back, so they had a choice!  Naturally I did all this in the same "english" that they tried to speak.  I indicated I had nothing but time to waste on their dime, and perhaps Richard and Sal at the Stern Show would like their number!  This guy thought that was a good idea to recommend to someone, but I suspect he will not like the attention he gets from the Howard Stern Show!  I have only myself to blame for going as far as I did, but a thief is a thief is a thief!  USAA Bank will get my money back eventually, and it will not happen again, in the meantime, all the "bindis" who answer the phone will lose time when I waste theirs!

Exact same thing happened to me.  Imagine that, the government not doing s*** about someone who's breaking the law and harassing the rest of us. I say we stop reporting it and just annoy the crud out of these people!

I called three times and got an answer the second time stating "YOU BOUGHT SOMETHING FROM OUR MARKETING PATNERS" When asked what partner "WE HAVE MANY AND THERE IS NO WAY KNOWING SO YOU WILL FIND OUT IN BLACK AND WHITE". I called a third time and asked to no longer be contacted. I used to be a telesales rep for Pitny Bowes Postage Meter and in our training they tell you that the person you called has to request to be put on the DNC List for that company because the national registry is not always updated, also if you have done business with someone they do business with they can call you, so you have to call and ask to be out on the DNC List.

I kept getting the same texts from 51297.  I called AT&T they can't do anything to block them except to block texting completely from my phone.  Rep said best to txt back stop or the number will be signed up for subscriptions.  She said it comes from entering contests to win an ipod or stuff like that but I have never done anything like that.  Will report 877-695-1619 Cash Rewards to FCC and Missouri Attorney General.  Seems like wireless carriers should be able to block these idiots.

Still going on.  $200 gas card scam.  SMS back with STOP.  Haven't heard anything.  Reported it to DNC.  Also added to contacts with "No Ring".  This seems to be the simplest way to stop some calls.  But, unfortunately they will just change to another # and continue.  I have used up my allotment of blocked calls on my cell service....now what?

I got an sms yesterday telling me I had won a $200 gas voucher!  I called last nite after a few drinks and was asked for my phone #. I gave them a disconnected number and a fake name.  THEN they hit me up for a credit card number, after asking repeatedly for my card number and me asking why I couldn't mail a check (they do not accept checks) I hung up, the first call I made to them I was hung up on. Total scam!

I have received at least 3 of these text messages which read:

Another time their phone number was 877-695-1619.
Today I replied with a text massage which said ?STOP? and I received the following text:

You have successfully unsubscribed from Cash Rewards Mobile Offering alerts.
For more info, please contact us at: support@1sms.com

I also reported them to the Do Not Call registry (for all the good that will do).

I've been getting the same texts...  I sent a message back about a month ago with "STOP" and I just got another one.  I just called them this time and the lady asked me my name, I said "No, but I'll have your company's name and information so I can report you" and they hung right up.  So I called again and the guy just asked if I "was calling about my $200 gas voucher and $50 walmart gift card."  I decided to play along and sound interested and asked where they would be coming from.  He told me "Central Rewards out of Phoenix, Arizona."  He then asked for my mastercard info and I told him no thanks, I have all the information I need to report their company now.

Got the same SMS as above. Files a complaint with https://www.donotcall.gov. You should do the same.

The "do not call" registry doesn't prevent them from placing a call or text to you. All it does is inform them that you are on said registry and that by continuing the call or text they are risking legal repercussions. However as this is apparently a scam they are not likely to care because they probably pick up and leave and use some other stolen identity to start another scam in a month or two.

With Verizon wireless you can put yourself on the "non charge text" list which will prevent any text fee to your phone from those texts that automatically charge you a fee. This however still wouldn't stop a text such as this one from this number because they didn't charge you a fee.

It certainly inst a Verizon issue though, Verizon has no way to determine if a text is violating the DNC registry in mid-transmit and stop it, no carrier does.

THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, gift card, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, secure handling, service, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number,  or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.

DoNotCall registrations do not expire unless you terminate phone services.

I received same text today from "51297" about $200 in free gas. Replied "HELP" not "STOP" to see who it was, received reply that I had been "unsubscribed", that's when I knew something was fishy. Searched "Cash Rewards Mobile Offerings" and found this site. Thank you to all for your postings, sharing your experiences, you saved me the call! I will report to FTC and all other agencies, including "Do Not Call" as I have signed up.

I received the same text message from this number and just filled out a complaint with the FCC about it, I suggest everyone else do the same.

Just got the same text.  I registered with DNC a while back... as in years.  I didn't know we had to renew it ... do we?  Anyway, went there are re-registered home & cell numbers.
