I have been trying to call this number back and bussy all the time I also have been checking my bank account for any withdrawal and there has been none thanks for the info.

Also got this message this morning, my guess is it's a chargeable number (like a 900 number). You call, you pay. The scammers hagve found another way to try to extort your money.

I got the same text message today, 10/1/08.  I was trying to google it and see what the deal was.

I got the same text message yesterday afternoon around 4pm.
I tried to call that number to see what was going on and it didnt work. I'm going to do some web searches and see what I come up with !

This call specifies for me to call 877-706-8491 and verify my City Credit Uion account identity immediately. The email address it comes from is resources@portal.org. I know better than to give anyone my information. Hopefully this information will help others be conned.
