Same thing with me.  I'm in MN.  I did take out a small loan through them and one pmt was taken out of my account then they started calling me for an "updated" way to pay. I changed my bank account because they kept telling me they weren't allowed to get payments from there.  I sent them a check to pay it off, waited for it to go through and then asked my bank to give me a new account number.  They still call 5 or 6 times a day.

How did you get this information? Do you have proof? I too took a small payday loan from them but now they are trying to get my debit card # instead of taking the repayment from my bank account. I refuse to give them my debit card info so instead they call daily. My only concern is this not appearing on my credit negatively. If they really were "shut down," how would you know? I don't know what to do at this point. I am in NJ.

Be advised that they have been shut down for charging interest rates well above the legal limit. They can no longer draft $ from their customers bank accounts automatically so they are calling and trying to obtain your credit/debit card number. They are offering a chance to win gift cards and ipods as incentives to get you to give them your card number. DON'T DO IT!

These people are calling me. Don't know how they got my information.I get these emails all the time that never say payday loans until I open them. I had opened one and instant my computer came up as phishing it shut down on me. Some how they still got into my banking account and slickly put money into my account on the same day of my pay check. Then immediately tried to take out twice as much. I closed my account down and found email address's for them to get a copy of signatures of me even getting these large amounts of loans. They will not provide that but still give me harassing phone calls stating that I owe this money. Well little people one its against the law in Virginia to have online loans. They can tell me that they are going to put me in jail yak yak yak... But it is not pursueable in the state. So until you can give me my information, thanks for the free money.

Collection of Loans Made by Unlicensed Lenders Prohibited in MARYLAND

This is a reminder to all Maryland Collection Agency licensees that it is ILLEGAL to pursue collection actions against Maryland residents for loans that were made by unlicensed entities, unless exempt under Maryland law.

BE ADVISED: It is a violation of Maryland law to collect on loans that exceed permissible interest rate caps. The applicable law on permissible interest rates and the unenforceability of loan agreements that exceed those rates is set forth below.
Pursuant to CL § 12-306, the rates a lender may charge in interest on a loan are specified. Section 12-306(a)(6)(i) provides as follows: "For any loan with an original principal balance of $2,000 or less, 2.75 percent interest per month on that part of the unpaid balance not more than $1,000 and 2 percent interest per month on that part of the unpaid principal balance that is more than $1,000[.]" That section, therefore, permits a lender to charge a maximum interest rate of 33 percent interest on loans up to a $1,000.

Pursuant to CL § 12-313(a)(1), a lender may not "[d]irectly or indirectly contract for, charge, or receive any interest, discount, fee, fine, commission, charge, brokerage, or other consideration in excess of that permitted by this subtitle."

Attention New York State residents: All payday loans are illegal in NYS. If you are a resident and have an active loan, it no longer due and not enforceable in any manner. The Attorney General has ordered that any collection attempts are illegal until such time as the AGs office has settled this matter with these companies.

Very well said. I wouldn't pay them a dime - regardless of whether you received a loan or not. The reason being that they are "scammers". Giving to a charity is commendable - especially "their " money.

I received a loan from Bottom Dollar Payday Loans and the first payment request was sent into my bank on the 31st day of the month instead of the 1st (as requested) because that is when my pension check is received at my bank (I am retired). This caused an overdraft to my account. I had overdraft protection on my checking account so they paid the loan payment but charged my account an overdraft fee of $32.
I called them and told them this information and all they said was "sorry" but didn't change anything and never relayed me that fee. Subsequently, due to other problems, I closed my bank account and I am sure they continued to send in payment requests which were, obviously rejected.
Knowing what I know now about these "payday loan companies" and being "scammed" by another loan company by a "Western Union" type scam (I am sure others have lost money in this manner and are familiar with this type of scam), I have decided that "Bottom Dollar" and any other "on line" companies will never receive another payment from me - regardless of their threats or harrassing phone calls I might receive. Being retired has a lot of benefits - including having no employer these "crooked loan scammers" can call trying to harrass me or having no worry of legal action since I have no other means of income other than "social security benefits" and possess no other appreciable assets to speak of.
Although, morally, I am responsible for paying these debts, that money will go to a charity of my choosing, where it can be used for the "needy" - some of which are, ironically, themselves victims of these "low life"
companies ! ! !

Bottom dollar Pay day - I did get a pay day loan from them and when i set up or called in to ask questions they were always very nice. Today alone they have called me six times. this does not count the last week, i can't even tell you how many times they have called. Every time they have called me today i have answered. Every time i answer they hang up with out saying a word. If in the future I am in need of another loan ( it happens ) I will not be going back to them due to this constant irritation. BTW cash yes comes highly recommended

I have never had a loan with "Bottom Dollar Payday" they called me for to get a hold of someone else. then hung up as soon as I said that person was not at this #.  So I called them back, asked them to remove my # from there system COMPLETELY and that I did not want to receive a call from them ever again.  That fixed the problem!!!!

If you have call forwarding features (like on Verizon Digital Voice), than forward this jerk to 717-338-2533.  That's the FCC Director's office phone.  Maybe the FCC will finally do their job when they start getting the annoying calls.

This is the number for Bottom Dollar Payday, one of those payday loan companies. If you borrowed money from them and paid it off (like me) they will call you and bug he hell out of you on a daily basis to try and get you to borrow more.
