Wow these guys won't stop.  I have an app to auto reject their calls and now they keep texting me.  These are very sophisticated scammers. They even have people on here saying it's not a scam. They're criminals preying on the elderly and the information literacy challenged.

I had never received a text message from Citicards stating thatt my account was due to be paid on the same date as the text message. So I googled the phone # and found it was a scam. Thank you for keeping me from making a mistake.

I received a text from this number. I had made a payment so I was surprised.

I received a text message from CitiCards that reads as follows: "Freemsg from CitiCards for M.Hall: for added info on account ending in **** rply MORE or call 877-717-1749 reply quit to end alerts." I called the number in fear that someone was trying to do somthing with my information. The first person who picked up hung up on me after I explained that I am not M.Hall and do not have a CitiCard. The second call I told the women the to take my phone number off of their list and that I am not M.Hall. She asked for my full name, and since I was already feeling like this might be scam, I refused to give her any personal info. I have now received three additional phone calls for M.Hall from CitiCards...not sure if this is a scam to get personal information but if not, it would not give me confidence to do business with this company......

   Call the 1-800 number on the rear of your CitiCard, and pay your bill.

Webmaster - Validation Code to leave a comment was, "A6M4"... I was tempted to respond "Zero Sen", but doubted it would work. Very cute...

They called me yesterday and said my account was late and wanted me to make a payment.  We were driving at the time to take care of a similar thing that my Mother-in-law had fallen into and couldn't believe it was happening to me as we're going to take care of her!!!!!!

I got a text message from this number. I did not call  the number. Checked on line and saw that it was a scam.

I called the number on the back of my Citicard and my payment was 12 days late. She took care of it over the phone.

I received a test saying I must call 877-717-1749 regarding my citibank credit card.  I did not reply.

I received a text message from this number and called CitiCards using the phone number on the back of my card. It turns out that my account was past due so it was a legitimate text.

Looks like this shill is getting desperate here ...

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

This is a scam. Don't listen to anyone on this board who claims it is legitimate. The scammers can just as easily as anyone post to these boards. Or it could be someone who has just been ripped-off, who is reluctant to believe they have just given away their identity to criminals.

This is a scam. Real Citibank / CitiCards do not call 5 times every day, real Citibank do not leave text messages asking to call fake customer service numbers.

The scammers have somehow figured out, using other stolen information, that you have an account with Citi. Next, they want to get your credit-card numbers and Social Security numbers, so they can do a complete "identity theft"

Do not respond to this scam, just block their numbers.

Actually just called Citi using the number on the card, the customer service rep did confirm that this number was legit and there was nothing to worry about.  Take from that what you will, since anybody saying that the number is legit is being labelled a scammer for whatever reason...

Contact your attorney general and advise them of this issue.  
BEST CASE: If this is really Citi, they will deal with it and stop texting folks because they are getting atty generals calling them.
WORSE CASE: Atty general will rip these folks a new one.

Got text message to call,,,didnt give any info, but immediately called Citigroup.  They stated they did not contact me in any manner.  This is scam...do not listen to anyone contacting you in this manner.  Do not believe postings on this site...CALL CITI PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR CARD ONLY !!!

"The Truth" is a cheater, she is the person to make this call and leave message on your cell phone. Call police to catch this cheater.

If you give your credit number to them, they will steal your money.

It is scam number, just ignore it. Don't give the your credit number to them!!!
