Calling (800) 887-6837 will get your number removed from the call list

I've been getting this call every day, same times, about twice a day.  Maddening!  Always says, "Contact America".  I never answer, and never will.  
What about that 800 number I saw in the entry just before mine?  'Says it
doesn't work. Does anyone know what that number is?

701-250-0178 is also another number is you search it here and read what was said. It is "Contact America" 888-735-6099 and 877-735-6099. The 888 number answers and says it is "Contact America" and to hold for the next rep but nobody ever answers.....i think this is a scam....plus I am on the "Do Not Call List" so why are they calling me????

these clowns dont answer phone, i contacted bbb, also attorney generals office. they are being checked out. it is a scam.

This is irritating.  Same thing as the others.  This number calls...doesn't leave a message or say anything when I pick up the phone.  They hang up.  I wish they would stop calling.  The 877-735-6099 and 888-735-6099 keep doing this.

Called three times in a row and left no messages.

This "company" calls my cell phone every day around the same time.  This is apparantly an automated system as the call is disconnect as soon as I answer the phone.  Also, they do not leave a message when I don't answer.  I called them back and got put on an indefinite hold.  I called the (800) 887-6837 number listed on their website (www.contact-america.com) and left a voicemail requesting they stop calling me.  Obviously, that doesn't work or I wouldn't be posting this here.  F***ing ridiculous!

I have an update. I have been getting calls from this number since May 14th, daily. Today I got a call from 888 in stead of 877 area code, but the same number. I picked up,thinking it's the exact same number, because I am really fed up. They said they wanted to speak with "me", so I said speaking and I asked "Who's this?". The guy said that he was calling from Zales credit department and that they have a new platinum something promotion or something along those lines. (Now, I do have an account with Zales, I just don't understand what could be so urgent that they are calling every freaking day!) I totally went off at this guy, explaining him I am getting a call every single day from them, and that it is very annoying and also that I reported the number. I added that they were usually calling me around 10am, and he said "Yeah, they would be calling around that time". He finalized by saying they will take me off their list. Great! I never wanted to be on your stupid list in the first place! Goodness!

I have received many calls from both numbers 877-735-6099 and 888-735-6099. I have AT&T service and they call about 10:00 each day. The 877 number doesn't work for me but I called the 888 number back and got a message and said it was "Contact America" and please hold and someone will be with me. I am on the do not call list and I sure do wish they would stop calling!!

they called today only with 888-735-6099 and when i answered it and they asked for account information pretending to be one of my accounts.

This number has been calling me every day, for the past week or so. Like everyone else, I tried calling it back and it does not go through. I got one as late as 7:00 pm last night. I have blocked the number on my cellphone, but it still shows up as missed call.

Apparently this caller ( 877-735-6099) is calling both cell phones and land lines. Our service is Cleartel which apparently has ties to Verizon.  Our number is also on the do not call registry.  I called Cleartel's support and they advised me that a police report has to be filed in order for their company to investigate the number.

I have a Verizon cell, and I'm in Southeast Michigan. This smacks of an auto-dialer, as I've been getting calls from this number every weekday at a little after 10am (10:12, 10:22, 10:19), ever since the 14th of May. The only thing I can think of that would have put me on a list of some kind around that time was a request to ServiceMagic.com for a list of contractors in my area. Anyone else?

I have been getting calls from this number as well and it's beyond annoying. I never answer calls from numbers which I don't recognize anyway. They keep calling and no voice mail. I am also on the do not call list. By the way unlike many of you guys, I have T-mobile. It's really interesting.

I answer phone, say hello a few times, then am disconnected.  I called the number back and received similar message as others, "I'm sorry but your call cannot be connected as dialed."  And I am dialing from my personal land line.

keep getting calls from this number and none is there. Read the other posts and mine is a landline , not a cellphone. When I call the number back get the same recording that it is no longer in service, very annoying

Same thing... Getting called from this number and immedately hangs up on you when you answer.  Call back and get the stupid message saying its disconnected.  Where the hell can we go to get this crap taken care of

called back and got the out of service recording.  it almost sounds as if the recording was recorded onto a tape or something and being played back.

I have been getting calls also and they are on a verizon landline. Same thing happens. We need to report this to the authorities..anyone have any ideas?

I have Verizon and missed a call from this number.  I called it back and received the message (static) "We're sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed.  Please check the number and dial again." (static)  "We're sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed.  Please check the number and dial again."  Then it goes dead.

This seems to be a problem with only Sprint Cell Phones, is this true for all users? If so, I can contact sprint and have them trace this unidentified caller.
