Same call from Jackie Moore. In fact, she called my sister before contacting me. No one can give me any information. This Jackie has been calling my sister all day harrassing her. Then she finally called me and said that she is waiting at my house to serve me papers. I told her that i was at my house and i am looking outside and there is no one outside. The lady hangs up on me and now Union Group won't answer my phone calls.

I received a several calls from Union Group - they blocked the caller ID and left VM's.  They are looking for someone that has a claim against them so I called the number back 877-493-1690 and gave them the case number and told them they have the incorrect number.  They also left on the vm that the person they are looking for has been officially served.  They claimed they were going to remove my number but I continue to receive calls.  I did some research and was told they are a scam company that does not play by the rules.

Update!  I just called 855-973-6476, posing as Attorney Tamara Clancy (Note above reference to Tom Clancy novel)....I asked them for address.....their reply was, "Well, that depends.....what is this for?"  I replied, "for a summons and complaint."  Repeatedly asked for their address and where they were licensed to practice business in.....they replied...."I'm sorry, at this time I can't help you, ma'am."

LOL!  EVERYONE......Call above number (it cost them money, not you), and demand an address and where they are licensed to practice in.  You will get put on hold (costing them more money).....and then get above response.  DO NOT give them any bogus claim number, name, or any information at all.  They actually asked me for my bar number......I told them, "I'm not giving you my bar number, I just need an address so I can file a lawsuit and serve summons and complaint."   To which I was hung up on.   Keep calling them, constantly....even to hang up!  It cost them money!

Have been getting repeated calls from these criminals and want to start a class-action suit.  I have plenty of lawyers that will do it, as I work in legal field, but the problem is FINDING THEM.  If anyone has any further info on these scumbags please reply.  Don't answer any of their BS questions or even talk to them; just repeatedly ask for their name, business name and address.  They won't give that so they are a scam, criminal operation.  I'm on a rampage to take these f---ers down.  Who's with me?  And above all, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THEM!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

The supposed due date came and went. I would bet that no alleged debtor has been sued or jailed, and they'll all have a pleasant Turkey Day.

Any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that an alleged debt is yours, proof that they have the legal right to collect said debt, and who refuses to give you their company name and mailing and physical address are owed NOTHING, per the FDCPA.

Report the caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  Please do advise your HR Dept that you're the victim of harassment by scammers - they should know that legitimate, law-abiding debt collectors do not behave in this way.

The above comments sound like extortion dressed as debt collection. Consumer debts in America, including payday loans, are a *CIVIL* matter, not criminal! Collectors calling a workplace should be seeking you or your *location* only, not blabbing about your alleged debt or trying to shame you with "process service" threats. Do you seriously think this bunch has such a poor track record of debtor location that they seemingly must first hassle your employers in every case?

Those threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach. My notes from October 2011 on payday loan and "hot check" collectors are linked below.

As I said to a prior commentor, a process server (or "litigation specialist" or "pre-legal department" or whatever they want to call themselves) should not have a dog in your race. Anyone trying to cut a deal with you to "save" you from a lawsuit over some unverified debt is a sham.

I would shop for a new attorney. A "debt collection firm" is on *the industry* side, not yours. The name of that federal agency is not "the FTC-dot-gov", just "FTC" for short. Reporting suspicious collector doings is fine, but don't expect that one complaint to magically halt the bullying phone calls. You'll have to determine the real business name and address and shoot over a ''cease communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. (... assuming it's not another South Asian faker)

Since never! A debt account's age does not affect your right to seek validation. If anything, that demand becomes more critical as years pass and old accounts change hands. You do have to request DV in writing, however, in response to the *federally required* initial dunning letter which I'm guessing these fools don't plan to send you.

In the US, anyone at your workplace can tell a debt collector that its calls are not welcome. The FDCPA demands that the PoE calls end immediately. The only "issue" to follow would be if the collector disobeys, as the worst thugs with flimsy claims are known to do.

If I'm right, the caller was not "given info" and has no "papers on his desk" about your supposed debt liability. It's a shakedown shop begging for a *real* lawsuit from you.

A process server typically cannot be a lawsuit party or anyone with a stake in the proceeding. Process service by appointment is not impossible but also atypical, and usually the "courtesy call" is from an illegal debt collector. If your jurisdiction is like mine, when you sue someone the court rules *require* that you provide a target address to your server.

I got a call from Robin Thompson saying that a claim was filed against me and she was trying to verify my work and home address so that she could serve me. Gave me a case number and told me to call this number. I called and spoke with Sue and she said that if I could set up a payment agreement it would keep me out of court. She said it was Integrity Advance and I owwd them $820 but she could get it reduced if I agreed to set something up. Scared..so I agreed. I have to pay on Nov 22. I will cancel my card and call them again and inquire about this being a scam just to see what response I get.

Got a call with a message on documents of claim against me.  After receiving 2-3 calls at work they contacted my supervisor and asked if he could assist her in serving me documents.  He didn't want to get involved in personal matters and so she gave him the 877-741-0425 and a claim no.  I then contacted my attornery and he said to contact the FTC.gov and file a complaint they will handle the case better than a debt collection firm because this Union Group is NOT registered to do collections except call and harrass people.  The FTC.gov will stop the calls.  Glad I talked to my attorney on the matter immediately.

I just received a call from a person saying the he needed to verify my home address so that he can give me some document because there was a claim against me. he gave me a case number and a 1-877-741-0425 number to call. I call that number and it was Union Group and they said that the were trying to collect on a online payday loan from Intergrity advance loans back in August of 2010. I told them that i never had a loan with that company for them to give me a number to the company so that i could call them personally. They did not have one, I looked the Intergrity advance and foound them but when you click on contact us it dosent give you a number rather a block for you to contact them by email. So i will wait to see it this person shouw up to my house like he said.
