Caller claimed to be with FedEx but asked for an employee who hasn't been with us for over 5 years. Suspicious right away. Then asked to speak to the person who is responsible for our account. Sounds fishy and he would not elaborate on what it was in reference to even though I asked multiple times. Will not be forwarding this call to anyone. If it was a legit call, they would volunteer what it was in reference to.

Was given this number as a call back to this call http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-463-3339/7#p618604240374720720

(In a slight southern accent...)
"Hello, my name is Dana Harris, and I'm calling from Connections on behalf of FedEx Express Canada, and I was giving you a call today to introduce myself as your account rep, and to save you some time or money, if you could please just give us a call back at your earliest convenience, at 877-744-7333 x2700, that would be great! Thank you for choosing FedEx, I hope you have a wonderful day."

My caller ID showed 800-463-3339. However, the "New Sales Rep" "Coletta Stokes" wanted me to call her back on 877-744-7333 x4336. She asked me to leave a vmail with my name, contact information and my Fedex account number! I am my company's logistics manager - If fedex is calling my company, they will know my account number ahead of time!! Obviously a phishing scam. DO NOT give these people any of your information.

The caller ID for this voicemail we received showed as 800-463-3339 which is a legit FedEx customer service number.
However the number left by the "FedEx rep" who wanted to "discuss options for our account and how we could save time" left a DIFFERENT number for call-back, 877-744-7333 which is not listed ANYWHERE and is in my opinion NOT LEGIT. I think this was a marketing scam masked to look like it came from the FedEx number.

Received a phone call from Sherry with "FedEx" and told her that we were happy with how everything was working and that we didn't need anything while trying to be as vague as possible. Asked her if she was our specific account rep and she told me that "she's one of many reps on the account". I told her I didn't have time to discuss the account and if we needed anything what number we could reach them at, she gave me the bogus 877-744-7333 number. So tired of telemarketers and scammers. I am trying to get work done!

So I called FedEx to ask about this number and they claim that it is a legit FedEx number. I tried calling it back to see what it said and all I get is some stupid automated prompt asking for the extension and then telling me to leave my number and company name and my call would be returned in 24 hours. Too bad the call is disconnected before you can leave any message and the extensions don't work. If this were a legit call, I would think that you could actually reach a live person and also that these so called sales reps would have voicemail boxes. Legit call, I think not.

This number left a voicemail with the same I'm blah blah blah from FedEx, your new account representative and wanted to discuss some options we may have for your company. The caller claimed her name was Charlotte and rattled off this number but with a different extension. If this really is a FedEx number, searching would likely turn up a FedEx result and not pages and pages of sites trying to figure out who these calls are really from. Chalking this one up to a telemarketer, especially given this time of year where telemarketing calls multiply like rabbits.

Found a message from this number on my answering machine and could barely understand the call back number as she spoke too fast. Don't intend to call back after reading all these comments.

How stupid these people must be! "Wanda" called and identified herself as a FedEx employee. She said she wanted to go over some options for my account and the first question she asked was if I use the FedEx website to ship packages. Dead giveaway.. When I told her I needed to verify her identitiy, she gave me the FedEx customer service number where they could look up her FedEx ID number: 07454. Of course, there is no such number. She also gave me her extension (7400) for the 877 number. Why can't FedEx investigate and have them prosecuted for fraud?

Just like most posters, our small business was called; receptionist took info, and just as above, only "Carissa" claimed to be with FedEx, calling about our account, and left call-back no. as 877-744-7333, ext. 7400.
First, even modest sized companies will have many extensions for various service / sales people, so the fact that it is ALWAYS extension 7400, for years now, no matter who the mostly/always? Female caller is, just announces "scam". Who exactly are the posters here, claiming that it is legitimate?
Realize that IF you are a business, there is a liklihood you do have a FedEx account, so scammers are not going out on a limb by pretending to be a FedEx rep.
Real legitimate company callers are almost always going to have your info in front of them already, so a quick way to catch them is ask THEM for your info! This has worked well for callers claiming to be from Quest, but any established business should also be able to give YOU account info, etc. As soon as they are asking YOU for info, after they just called you, you can bet they are scammers.

Received a call today from someone from this number. She stated she was a rep with FedEx and wanted to know what type of business we were and some other information. I told her I was busy at the moment and asked for a number to call her back. At first she refused and stated she would call me back. After a minute of pressuring on my part I got her to give me a return number - 877-744-7333 x7400 they did state it was FedEx sales department but sent me to voice mail asking me to leave my name, phone number, account name and account # and they would return my call - I looked at the FedEx site and this number is not listed anywhere. I find it odd, as well, that the voice on the interactive system is different from the FedEx direct number - I didn't leave a message and will not pursue.

I just received the same call today - June 18, 2012 - they are still up to their games. Thanks to all these posts I won't be calling them back.

The caller left a message saying they were from FedEx and could be reached at 877-744-7333 x7400. Seemed suspicious, so I didn't call back.
Dave 2011-08-02 16:19:34 Unknown
It is FEDex. I verified with by calling the number on fedex.com and the rep verified that this number is a legitimate fedex number.

An account manager for office supplies.

Just forget my post. The two above posters are correct.

Also received a pre-recorded message from "Monique" stating she worked for FedEx and wanted me to give her a call back at my earliest convenience at 877-744-7333, ext. 7400. Out of curiosity, I gave the call a try and was connected to the Sales Department, so I just hung up. Pretty odd to say the least...
A few things about this call that screamed scam: 1) blocked caller id, 2) caller never mentions you by name and 3) caller never explains the reason for the call. The real FedEx doesn't operate this way!
Danielle 2010-12-17 15:18:55 Unknown
I received this call also, from "Jamie Thomas" from FedEx at x7400. I'm suspicious, too... it does not sound like a legitimate call. But, like Poor Yorick, I called 1-800-G0-FEDEX and asked them to confirm if it was a legitimate FedEx number. The rep at 1-800-GO-FEDEX said that it is a valid FedEx number.
Poor Yorick 2010-11-22 20:15:18 Unknown
I called 1-800-GO-FEDEX and reported a call from this number to them. They confirmed that it *IS* a Fed-Ex number!

Received two voice messages, in three days. Apparently the scam is continuing. Somehow they have associated the company I work for with my home number, which is unlisted.

We have encountered the same thing. Two different people called leaving a message with the same extension number to contac over a couple of days. One said they were are newly appointed Fedex representative. They just started to leave messages recently but have been calling almost daily for about a month. thanks for reporting this.
JM 2010-08-20 13:46:05 Unknown
Got 2 messages in one day, with a promise of calling back the next day saying it was FedEx. Person on message identified herself as "Jo Ellen Gibson". I called back with the extention she left (7400), and was connected to a recording for "Sales Business Development" to leave a message. Appreciate the this site and the input here - thanks for the heads-up.

I've gotten two voice mails from this number within the last two or three months giving me a name and an extension to call back. They said they were our Fedex account representative and wanted some information. I tried calling back, and when I was prompted to leave a message, I hung up and started searching on line to see if anyone else had encountered this. Thank you for this discussion. It confirms my suspicions. It's definitely a scam.
EAH 2010-03-11 21:22:22 Unknown
They called and left a voice mail, but I did not call them back because I was suspicious. These posts confirm my suspicions and I thank you !

I just took a call from a Madelin Charles (girls name, man on other end of phone) saying he was NEW Company Corporate Account Rep from FedEx. I smelled a fish, so I questioned him and basically would not let him speak with any of the Company Officers (He asked for the CEO and VP). I took his number down 877-744-7333. I called it and it went to a recording that said it was the old number for Barcly Court Reporters, Couldn't find anything on them.

Carol called saying she was from FedEx. I contacted FedEx direclty and they called the number and confirmed that 877-744-7333 is not a FedEx number and that the person was not an employee of FedEx. DO not give them any info.

Caller ask for a company principle by name and hung up when ask what the call was around.
Mary 2009-06-29 21:45:04 Unknown
This person said his name was Samuel from claiming that he was a new sales rep for FedEx wanting out company information. We contacted FedEx and they confirmed that this person was not employed with FedEx and that every FedEx employee has an employee number that they can provide to you for verification.
Be aware and do not give out your information
