I want to know who you are. I have multiple ideas but I really want to know!

"Because this is the only job I can get in this crappy little county." <--- fantastic answer.

We forgot one.

WE CAN ONLY SPEAK WITH THE PRIMARY ACCOUNT HOLDER. If your name is not authorized to speak with, we can't do it. That is for the protection of your husband/mother/son/cousin/neighbour. If you want us to be able to speak to you, make the account holder call Customer Service (8009220204) and put you on as authorized. THEN you need to know either the last 4 numbers in their social, or a password you guys set up.

"Hello, my name is **** ****, and I'm calling from Connect North America Corporation on behalf of Verizon Wireless." This little phrase is posted on the wall of every little green cubicle in the building where I work. Which, as it happens, is the same building as Richard, Jessica, John, and our informative friend, "dddd." We ARE a legitimate 3rd party company that conducts calls on behalf of Verizon Wireless. There are rules to this process, and anyone receiving calls should pay close attention to these rules:

- WE ARE ALLOWED TO CALL YOU. Even if you're on the national Do Not Call list, because you have an existing relationship with Verizon Wireless. IF YOU DO NOT WANT US TO CALL YOU, please CALMLY and POLITELY ask us to put you on our company's Do Not Call list. If you're calling in, you WILL have to verify your mobile telephone number so we know which account we're adding to the Do Not Call list. If you do not verify your mobile telephone number, we WILL keep calling you.

- WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CALL YOU MORE THAN ONCE A DAY,UNLESS: A) You asked us to call back later, or B) we're calling you back in regards to something that went wrong in a previous call in which you agreed to alter your account in some way. So that means that if we HAVE called you more than once in a day, it is either because you asked us to, or there is something important regarding your account that needs to be corrected. So, if you changed your account with us, answer the phone, it's important. If you asked us to call you back, answer the phone, or we'll just keep trying until you do. If neither of these scenarios apply to you, and we have called you more than once in a day, you are either exaggerating or hallucinating. Get that checked.

- WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE A MESSAGE, UNLESS it's regarding an order placed or a change made with us that, for some reason, was unable to be completed. That's the government's rule, not ours, so please direct your frustration at you nearest congress-person.

- THE REASON WE ARE CALLING YOU AT THIS NUMBER IS BECAUSE IT IS YOUR PRIMARY CONTACT. So many people have asked me this that it has generated the above scripted response in my brain. If you don't want us to call you at this number, change your primary contact number with Customer Service. The idea that we have the authority to make that sort of change for you is laughable at best.

- THE PERSON YOU ARE TALKING TO CAN NOT GIVE YOU ANYTHING OUTSIDE SCHEDULED PROMOTIONS AVAILABLE. So don't try to use the "leverage" you might have with a nearby contract end date to try to negotiate lower prices on plans or phones. We don't even have the power to do that, and chances are the people who do have the power to do that won't do it either. What we CAN do, however, is make sure you're on the appropriate plan for your needs, and make sure you can take advantage of every promotion you're eligible for. If you want special pricing because your first Verizon Wireless phone was the size of a cinder block and came in a nylon bag, call Customer Service.

Lastly, if we are calling you, and you are not a Verizon Wireless customer.... Is anyone who lives in your home or who may have listed this number as a primary contact a Verizon Wireless customer? If you answer the phone and listen to the person on the other end, they will tell you who they're looking for. Maybe it's a wrong number. It happens. A lot. Also, if you think it's inconvenient to receive one phone call on Christmas Eve and/or New Year's Eve, imagine how inconvenient it is to spend 8 or more hours on that particular day MAKING those phone calls. It sucks. Trust me, I know. In closing, I suppose I could summarize with: Answer the phone, listen, and make a judgement call. Trust me, we don't want this phone call any more than you do. And if, at any point, you have the desire to ask the question "Why are you calling? It's (insert holiday here)..." simply know the answer is: "Because this is the only job I can get in this crappy little county."

Thanks for listening, and I hope this post saves a lot of people a lot of time and energy that could be better spent.

legally we can call vzw customers because of an existing relationship with them.
you're right, we are supposed to identify ourselves every time.
i do, but i can't speak for anyone else.
i would find it rude for someone to call me and not say who they are.

you should not be calling people who are on the do not call list.  www.donotcall.gov. legally you are supposed to identify who you are and you do not do that either.

All three reps mentioned in here (Richard, Jessica and John) work with me. We work as third party under VZW- which is why you haven't gotten any noticed necessarily in the mail, email, my Verizon, etc.

If you don't want the calls, answer and ask to be taken off. Otherwise we're calling about a free month, new phone, etc, more than likely, so it'd be useful to listen. We can't leave voicemails either, legally.

$30 off promotion - are you on an unlimited minute plan by chance?

The people or company associated with this number are definitely not from Verizon. I called Verizon customer service and they told me they're not offering any kind of promotion that would give $30/ month off of my bill. I knew that already, but I wanted to check with them before alerting the Better Business Bureau of NH about this scam or whatever it is.

Someone named "John Brabant" has been calling me from this number. He left a few messages on my answering machine, along with his extension or customer service number, 1560. He supposedly works for Verizon Wireless. His message said I could save $30/ month on my cell phone bill due to some promotion.

I called the number back because I suspected it was a scam (had checked my Verizon acct. online and didn't see any messages or notices). I got a voice recording that sounded like someone's home machine, lots of static and not professional like Verizon's actual message would be. I hung up. Immediately my phone rang- the scammers called me back and right away a woman asked for my cell phone number. I said "Shouldn't you already know that?" and she said "Sorry, our lines must have gotten crossed. I thought someone from your number called in here."

I don't know what kind of scam it is, but they needed my cell phone number to proceed and its definitely not Verizon (who has never called me at home or on my cell btw). Don't give your number to them.

877 746 5554 says they are verizon wireless, but i don't have verizon wireless and they would probably leave a message. these people don't identify who they are, cid says unavailable, they hang up on answering machine, and have an unlisted phone number. sounds pretty shadey to me..or it is probablya skip tracer or collection agency.

1-877-746-5554 This number has been calling my home phone for a couple of weeks now. Even on new years eve. When we answer no one there and when we let it go to answer machine of course no message left. Yesterday i answered and someone was on the other end! It was a guy and asked for my son i said he was not home my i take a message? He said "i am calling from verizon and he is about to go over his mega bites please have him call me at 1-877-746-5554" I asked for his name he said Richard Robel. I also said you should not give me any info as i am not on his account. He said that is okay. I knew different! My son tried to call him back was on hold for 20mins, then got disconected. tried again and was on hold again. We immediatley called our cell phone carrier and reported this. It was not them. BEWARE THIS IS A SACAM!!! If you call the number from a landline and are lucky to get thru listen carefully-it is a recording. Report this immediatley to your carrier and better business bureau.
