I get at least two calls per month from supposed representatives of the Maine State Federation of Firefighters, making a "recorded call," as the person says, asking if I can be counted on for a certain donation. Every single time they call I tell them to remove my number from their call list.

p.s. as for them hiring minors and felons i think they're doing a great service, there's not a lot of job opportunities for those groups of people, and everyone today needs a job, regardless of their youthfulness or past history, don't look down on it just because its something you wouldn't do

Have been receiving calls from them - no message for a week or so now. The info. on the return number says it is the Fundraising Info. Center calling on behalf of "a public safety association in MN".

We live in Alabama and get enough calls from Alabama State organizations looking for $$$$.  We do not want an organization from outside of our state asking to give money.

Calls at least once a day almost everyday.

First of all do what I do. I do not answer my calls anymore, let your machine screen them, if you recognize the caller then pick up. Also put this message on your answering system:

"All calls to this number are screened and all 800 series numbers are ignored otherwize leave your name and number and If I know you I'll call you back"

I have no more 800 series numbers calling me any longer. As for the other callers, if they are friends or family they'll understand and the rest, tough luck you don't need them anyway!!

If you think for one moment that the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY will do any good with these 800 numbers you are all a little sick. They don't care!!!!

My machine picks up and immediately informs ALL callers that we do NOT accept charity calls, advertising calls, political calls, telemarketing calls, survey calls, "blocked" or "area code blocked" calls, or "unknown" calls.

I am so tired of all these fools who manage to legally evade the Do Not Call lists. NOBODY should be exempt.

Have received 5 calls in the last 24 hours.  Supposedly some for profit for the Sheriff's department.  Blew up at them and then hung up.  They do not take no for an answer.  Very aggressive.

this number has been calling for months. days, night and weekends. usually they hang up but a few times have asked for my son by name and identify themselves as Capital one management. they asked him if his last for digits of his social were listed correctly. he said no and hung up. they have been calling since

We're up to something like 10-12 calls daily. WHile screening the calls, once the ID appears ("Toll free call"), I've briefly hit the phone's "talk" button as if I planned to answer the call, then immediately disconnected. These USELESS FOOLS have something that works just like instant redial. After they hit call #7 (and this has only been since I came home from work), I actually did "answer". I told them, very clearly, to take our number off their calling list.

I can't wait until this kind of calling becomes illegal!

they started calling me today on a sunday for goodness sakes started at like 8am they call every other hour, i left first one go to answering machine b.c. on my machine it states if u cant leave a message do not call back well that is their 1st warning then they called back again i click on and right back off button they returned the call 5 secs later i even said did you not get it the 1st 5 times you called i didnt answer now i have hung up on you dont call back yet they keep calling next time they call i will be sure they know this will be the last call, if want them to stop calling all you have to do legally is tell them ONE time anything after that is legally harassment, tell them you are reporting them NOT to the DO Not call list that gets u nowhere, but threaten to report them to the FTC and report them so this place can be stoped, the do not call list place cant do anything to these people but the FTC CAN and WILL then after u threaten them to report them to FTC tell them you will file a harassment charge with local police station in with your local phone company to track these calls, and trust me they will never call you again.

This number calls and nothing on the other end.  Every day for the last 6 days and all times of the day and night.

unfortunately the "National Do-Not Call Registry" legally does not apply to non-profit organzations and charitable contributions. You lose.

Yeah I work for that company and we don't even start calling the west coast until 12:15 pm, so if you were on the east coast that would mean we don't start placing calls till 3:15pm Eastern Time. There is more than one fundraising company and thousands of Non-Profit Charities and Organizations in the nation alone working on efforts to better things for our firefighters, our police officers and even cancer survivors, because believe it or not, some people out there actually care and do want to help out the men and women that risks their lives to protect not only our life and property, but the streets for our children and our children's children in the future. Keep that in mind the next time you get pissed off because somebody is actually trying to do something to help.. unlike yourself, who finds it more productive to waste time writing bad reviews on websites instead of doing something useful for your community. Oh but damn our company right?? I mean, jesus christ. IT'S F***ING FUNDRAISING FOR GODS SAKE.. it's not even selling you anything.. it's doing a good deed for those who risk their lives to service their community.

Lol I work for this company that you guys are talking about. We do have a lot of youngins there that aren't very good at the whole customer service thing, reschedule peoples calls to make their results look better in the long run, that kind of crap. I would just like to take the opportunity to apologize to you on behalf of MPI, and for future reference, while we aren't the only one's fundraising for non-profits, all you have to do is request to be taken off our lists and that's that. They have to do it, if the representative that called (or has been calling) doesn't do it then they CAN lose their job, all you have to do is right down who's name you spoke with and contact Midwest Publications Inc. (MPI). As I said, I'm just there to earn my paycheck, and what better way than by helping out non-profit's in need? But I do understand how annoying it is to be called at home (your sanctuary) and then have rude reps harassing you. Not cool at all. Let me assure you that no matter how angry somebody may be with me for calling, I always end the call by wishing them a happy, safe, and blessed year and that having a moment of your time was good enough in my book because I know these calls are never fun to take in the first place and in this day and age time is valuable.. Above and beyond in my book when somebody actually listens all the way through the script lol.

I just got a call from this number and they called as "Fraternal Order of Police" looking for a 15 dollar donation.

They call every day.I see the number on my caller ID and I do not answer it.If they want to talk to me they can leave a message on my voice mail.

We get calls from this and like numbers every day. Every year my husband gives money to the state firefighters and they call from a completely different number then this and always in the early spring.

Last night he tried to question these people about it and as soon as he asked it they hung up on him. Red flags are all over these numbers.

They are soliciting on behalf of the Kentucky State Police. Called me at work. Very aggravating.

I'm sick of it, something must be done.  They call early in the morning and late at night.

I called the number. The answering machine askes to leave a number and they will call back. I gave them a police station number.
