I got one call several months ago from the number above by Jessica. She ask me about a back brace and told me I would need to get a prescription from my Doctor and fax to her. I asked my doctor's nurse to speak to him about it and she said I'd have to make an appointment and talk to him about it that a lot of times these companies would use up all my medicare. I did not know what she was talking about "using up my medicare" so I just didn't miss with it anymore. Well this number cell's my cell phone 2 and 3 times a day, every day. Their call is the first one every morning around 6:am and 2 or 3 throughout the day and theirs is the last one at around 8pm every night. I no longer answer their calls but they just continue to call, for months now. I've already gotten the first call today. I am afraid these people are scams. I don't think they are truly medical e. Could you check this out for me. Thank You, Debra

I received a phone call from a man with Total eMedical.  He wanted to send paper work to my doctor to get approval for a back brace.  Neither of my doctors have suggested a back brace.  I do not feel I need a brace.  The man kept insisting this was a new improved brace and would make my life better.  He would not listen to me but just kept talking over me wanting to send the request and prescription to my doctor.  I continually objected and ask for him to first send me information on this brace and I cod take it to my doctor so she and I could look at it and make a decision.
What I got was a rude response to look it up on the Total eMedical website.  Then in the mail I received a fax cover sheet that stated I had requested medical supplies from your company,  also a prescription for my doctor to sign.  I did not want either.
I also feel the type behavior of this salesman has brought me to the decision that I never want to have anything to do with total e medical now or ever!

I am an office manager and doctors assistant for a pain management clinic. I receive faxes from total e medical on our pts all the time for lumbar support supplies and back braces and wheelchairs. At out clinic we supply all the back braces for our pts. When I get the fax the sales person named Beverly is calling constantly nonstop pushing to get fax back immediately with drs signature. When I contact the pt the pt tells me they don't know whats going on that they get a call from total e medical asking for all their information saying they are going to provide the medical supplies for them and stating my dr has orderd for them. The pts are confused by the time they get off the phone and thinking our dr has order supplies for them. And next thing is we are getting faxes saying pt has requested the supplies with dr information on it and pts information on it and wanting dr signature asap. I have contacted and sent the faxes back several times to this company and yet they are still doing it. If it dosent stop I will report this.

Okay as a provider I have had recent dealings with this company. I started receiving requests by fax for leg braces, lumbar supports, wound supplies on patients from this company. I do sign so they can revice diabetic supplies...no more though. Apparently they cold call patients advertising as their insurance company( a patient recorded a phone call and I listened). They have a lsit of questions they ask including if you every had pain anywhere. If you say yes then they come back with "well we have new products that are freee to you". The patient says yes, they send us a fax wanting us to approve, after telling the patient the Physicians office would apporve. Most of these people do not quilify for the products so we say NO. In my opinion and from what medicare says I feel these are fraud cold calls. Our office no longer even looks at the forms we just toss them.  If you get a call from this company be aware there could call practices are questionable and they are trying to upsell you products you don't need or qualify for. I called and filed a Medicare fraud complaint, and will continue to do so each form i receive.  SHAME on your company!!!

I have purchased several items over the years from total E medical. I have a chronic pain aliment - Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy as the result of a fall injury a number of years ago. The injury is permanent and extremely painful. The rep from total E recommended the thermo cooling/heating warp - actually called "Vital Wrap" and recently I bought two additional attachments for my back and my foot. Let me tell you that this device SAVES MY LIFE! WHen medicare stopped paying for the item the company reduced the cost so I have been able to afford the attachments for my foot and back myself. Today I was at my pain doctor and I told him about the device and what a blessing it is to me -- he wants to recommend it to other patients.

Working with the phone reps has always been extremely easy. Folks who are sick don't always follow up with paperwork or have all of the proper info at their disposal. THEY will run the info down for you! I've had so many rude medical services cal me and try to make me believe I've ordered things that I haven't, etc. I've never had the hard sell from total E. Now, most of the things they provide require a doctor's script, so as they are on the phone, if you or your doctor don't take the time to insure proper sizing (they actually sent me a tape measure to insure proper sizing for one device), then don't blame them. They are salespeople, not physicians.

Thank you Total E -- I appreciate my vital wrap SO much! It makes my life much more bearable on a bad day!

Had a call saying they were doing a Medicare update asked for my Doctor's name, my d.o.b. and my S.S.
#, when I refused to give my S.S.#, he said he could get that from my Doctor. He asked health questions that I thought were legitimate, and said someone would follow up with a call.Well, when I got the call back, he told me that I had qualified for several of their products "at no cost to me", I asked who was going to pay for it, he told me Medicare, He also told me that he had called my Doctors office to verify I was a medicare subscriber, every thing checked out and I could receive free medical supplies, but needed to show proof to the M.C. co. that I was insured and need to have my S.S. #, in order to process my order!!! What did I order???  When I refused again,I asked for his number so I could return the call when I found my Medicare # The number he gave was 877-750-5252 ext 7241. He was in Pompano Beach,Fla. I checked out the reviews and found several negative posts. Just BEWARE

We pay for unneeded/free dme all the time. Yes, someone paid for it, not just you. Take care of your dme needs by going to your doctor, not just a company that calls you. Your doctor is the key for your medical needs. period....

Total EMedical contacted me  about a new back brace.  I specifically told them on the phone not to send anything that was not covered by medicare and medicaid.  They sent the back brace 2 months ago so I assumed it was covered only to find out this week that medicare declined to pay since I had received one 4 years ago, now they want me to pay for it ($900 in payments of $100 month). If that isn't bad enough, I already got rid of my old brace since I got the new one.  I contacted Christina Davis at Total eMedical explained the problem she said she would call me back that was Monday afternoon this is Wednesday evening and I am still waiting for the call back.

Something needs to be done about medical supply stores contacting medicare beneficiaries.  Total eMedical contacted me offering a new brace, I never called asking them for one. Now I am being punished for it.

When you feel helpless and say stuff like I want it to stop, the scammers who read your post would score a point. Instead of saying I want it to stop, take control of your phone and block them or better yet change your phone number. Remember the criminals who call you are the only ones who should worry, not you.

I talked to a Byron once. I was interested but made no commitment for medical supplies, braces. I said call me back later. I have consistantly gotten calls on a daily basis 24/7. I responded to an e-mail and told them to stop bothering me that I had what I needed and no longer wanted their services. They have not stopped bugging me I want it to stop.

Total E Medical is a Medicare scam company who uses false and misleading tactics to sell sub-standard, un-needed and over priced medical items to unsuspecting seniors and people who are disabled. The common practice is to call a household, claim that their doctor referred them and they have a certain device that will be of NO COST to the consumer. Lie number one is the doctor referral. I contacted my wife's doctor and he did not refer or order the device we received. I already knew this but wanted to confirm it prior to contacting medicare in an effort to get this company pulled from their approved providers list.
Companies like this dupe unsuspecting sick people into believing that they have the doctor's approval to send items then they bill medicare. This fraud depletes the system of millions of dollars that would be better spent on REAL needs and it's practices like this that need to be reported to Medicare so we can help reduce fraud and help the programs' sustainability. DO NOT FALL for this garbage, they say no cost to you but their practices cost every taxpayer untold millions every year that hurts the one good insurance program that out retired and disabled have access to no matter their income. HELP STAMP OUT MEDICARE FRAUD! If Total E Medical contacts you just say no and if you receive product addressed from them send it back marked REFUSED costing Total E the costs and not yourself.

These people call 4 and 5 times at once.  I hang up, they call again immediately.  I ignore the call, they call again immediately.  I have answered and told them to leave me alone.  I have written them and told them to leave me alone.  I'm ready to get an attorney and file a harassment suit.  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I got on their list by filling out surveys for money or coupons and other things.
I found their website and called them. Talked to Linda in Customer Service.
Explained to her how I got on their list. Explained my physical problems which are many.

They have many good products. The back brace they would recommend looks fairly good as
I have had many.

She took my phone number off their list.
She explained that if you are a 'hardship' case and can't afford the Medicare co pay of 20% that
they will work with you on it. They might even write it off, I think or have you make tiny payments.
The price of the product is determined by Medicare so you should check with Medicare BEFORE
you buy anything so you will know what you copay amount would be.

It's time we all try to CONTACT these online or phone vendors to try to resolve these phone call issues
instead of just BITCHING on these look up websites. They didn't get your number out of thin air.
YOU PROVIDED IT SOMEHOW by going on line and divulging your info somehow. So BE CAREFUL
what info you put out in the world by whatever method.
The entire world is out after marketing info on you and it's almost impossible to NOT provide it, but by
being very careful, AND READING all the small print, you CAN prevent your info from being dessiminated.

According to Medicare rules and regulations, no supplier should be contacting Medicare beneficiaries to offer medical services/equipment without a written authorization from the patient. If you are being contacted by this supplier or any other supplier, you should contact Medicare directly and place your complaint with them. Contacting beneficiaries without prior WRITTEN CONSENT is a violation of many standards that the supplier needs to comply in order to retain their billing rights under Medicare program. If they are not doing so, they are in clear violation of standard eleven which clearly indicates  that a supplier ?must agree not to initiate telephone contact with beneficiaries, with a few exceptions allowed.  This standard prohibits suppliers from calling beneficiaries in order to solicit new business.?
Be smart and protect yourself against fraudulent and abusive behavior by not accepting these calls.
From the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services:
In § 424.57(c)(11), we proposed to revise this supplier standard to clarify that suppliers cannot directly solicit patients, which includes, but is not limited to, a prohibition on telephone, computer e-mail or instant messaging, coercive response Internet advertising on sites unrelated to DMEPOS products, or in-person contacts. We also proposed that DMEPOS supplier may only contact the Medicare beneficiary under the current provisions at § 424.57(c)(11)(i) through (iii). We believe that if CMS or the NSC through on-site inspection obtains or develops evidence that a DMEPOS supplier has made prohibited contacts with Medicare beneficiaries in violation of the provisions found in this section that CMS or the NSC may revoke that supplier's billing privileges, and may determine if such billing may be for fraudulent or unnecessary supplies.
