ALWAYS make such callers MAIL (not email or fax) a debt validation letter to you.  This letter will show the original creditor, amount of loan, amount owed, date of loan, date of last payment and if they are licensed to collect debt in your state.  If they refuse to send this information it is a violation of the FDCPA, and you owe them nothing.  It is the debt collector's responsibility to prove through documentation that you really do owe this loan.

I got a call from them stating I owed money on a tree loan for school, I dont remember anything about this,
somehow they knew my information, I looked up a website for the tree loan and there isnt such a thing, I wonder if this is a scam, they wanted to settle with me and take a credit card over the phone and I wouldnt do it,

Called back, and someone answered " SH Kenda Associates". Hung up promptly. These guys are ignorant.Called my friends land line at 8:00 AM.

This sleazy outfit is ran by Walter Steele. This guy is an uneducated thug who hustled the owners Frank and Sheri Cann to invest in his ideas and process. Essentially expediting this company into banko. He has hired all of his buddies from other companies he has worked for and authorized top salaries for schmucks who do nothing but milk the clock and sleep in their cubicles. Walter spends most of his days at home remotely emailing collectors/ managers while scratching his balls and smoking black and milds. FHCann was a reputable company with a great atmosphere once upon a time. Now, it's a churn and burn chop shop who systematically violates the FDCPA knowingly and also Massachusetts labor laws. I for one am happy to now work for a reputable company. FHC is a complete joke!

these people are dependent on phones on which they harass people.  what about if you return their harassment calls around.  have all your friends call them from blocked numbers and keep calling them.  no rudeness or insults just tell them to have a nice day.  if you can muster up 20 people who in turn can get 20 people... you get the picture.  these businesses should not be allowed to harass people especially at their place of employment. f h cann is not even a member of the better business bureau that speaks volumes in itself. these collection agencies should not be allowed to exist.

these people have been calling me for months .  when the calls first started coming I called the back and gave them my name and telephone number and they, whomever, said they could not find me anywhere on their computer.  the calls still kept coming so i called them back and talked to some one who also said she could find no record of me having been called by them.  this person professed to be the office manager.  i told her that i thought someone was  using a spoof card to make these calls.. She started to scream at me that the calls with their telephone number would have to be made from their office.  I tried to explain to her what a spoof  card was but she continued to scream at me and then hung up on me.   these harassing calls continued to keep coming ,20 at least in the last month,.. and i put them on my phone reject list.  when at last I did answer they quoted me another name who was at my number!  then the man started to scream at me that I had not got back to them at all.  he is  LIAR.  the only criterion this company seems to have to hire people is ignorance and rudeness.  I WANT TO REPORT THEM TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR HARASSMENT I AM ALSO GOING TO THE NEWSPAPER AS I HAVE NO BAD CREDIT AT ALL.  THESE PEOPLE ARE NUTS1

also rec'd phone call left on cell phone, w/ my name and that there is a "situation involving me at their office" and that they had left a message at my place of work. Considering they left a message at my work and how urgent the woman made it sound...I almost called without looking # up. Glad I did, not calling!! I'm sure they'll call place of work again, but are supposed to stop by law if requested to do so. Not there yet, but will be happy to join any suit that ensues. They have also called my dad and my sister's home phone #'s, telling them it's a debt I owe and that they have a "great" deal for me.

Got a call from James Bowman who called from a (978) 725-6663. This guy is a trixter.  He keep me on the phone 5 minutes the first time pretending to be an "old friend" of the person he was looking for.  Then he started saying "well, I tried to call her at this number ___________" and he'd read an old phone cell number or old home phone number.  I finally realized this guy was full of it and told him never to call me.  2 months passed and he just called again.  He also gave a return phone number of 877-750-9800 x356  I think it has something to do with a school loan,  however, I happend to know the payments have been made on that loan so who knows why he's calling.

This number called my brand new phone number with a British-accented recording for a man that I've never heard of.  Hopefully this is the one and only time they call.

They called and left message to call them and when i called back noone answered.

So I just tried to actually call the number back, and I got a recorded voice.  It's just a collection agency based in North Andover, MA.  Glad they're not after me, just the guy that USED to have my number I guess...

I called the callback number they left and they were happy to remove my cell number from the case file of the deadbeat who had my cell number 3 years ago.

i got a letter from them demanding payment on a student loan that I paid IN FULL nearly 1 year ago.  this attempt to collect on a non-existent debt is also clearly a FDCPA violation.  i'd be willing to get a class action started as well.  post a reply if you are interested.

John Webster called my job yesterday and said my complete name, birthday, and SSN on a voicemail message, then made threats of going to my HR Department if I did not call them back ASAP. As you can say I have a outstanding college loan like many, but that does not give any collector the right to violate the FDCPA. I have the voiemail saved for evidence. I have also made contact with legal to see if I can get a class action started! This company is not right!

I'll love to get a class action to stop the calls.

I have this number for over 15 years. They asked for someone who've never live at this address because this was a new home and I'm the only owner.  I requested them to stop calling but they still call. What can we do to stop this harrassment?. .

I just reported them to the FCC: using an automated system to call cell phones is illegal, whether or not they are attempting to collect on a debt. Again, they're calling for someone who is not me, but I'm not willing to give them any of my information: I sent them an email from a one-off gmail account, but I'm still in college and don't have a credit score at all, so I'm not going to take a chance on them learning my name and ruining any chance I have at getting a loan later on in life.
The caller ID was blocked (again, illegal). I hope they enjoy their fine.

Multiple calls from Kennedy Association have been left on our answering machine saying that I have a "debt". They leave the above number, but I have not attempted to call it. How do I stop these calls?

todays call came from Victoria Blair at 601-429-9008.  past calls came from Mary Kennedy at various #'s.  Each call told me to call 877-750-9800 re a debt.  Today I reported it to the Do Not Call Registry @ https://www.donotcall.gov.    I plan to report every future call as they are using up my minutes on my prepaid cell phone.

I received annoying messages on my answering machine for about a month.  The message states it is a call from Mary Kennedy and that it is an attempt to collect a debt. After I got the umpteenth call, I returned the call with the pertinent information with the assigned case number.  I did speak to someone who was very polite to me and indicated that there was a capitol one charge on a credit card in the year 2000 in my name.  He asked if the last four digits of my ss number was XXXX and it didn't match so he took my name off the list.  Unfortunately, my last name is a very popular one so I wish this guy luck in finding this yahoo that may or may not screw up my good credit. Out of all the unsolicited calls I got from my landline in the past month, this one seemed the most legitimate. However, if I was in debt and had people looking for me to collect, I don't think these messages would encourage me to call this number.

FH Cann is a very sleazy outfit.

They know that they are calling people who have nothing to do with their accounts, and they know that calling the wrong person several times a day is outright harrasment, but if 1 out of 1000 robot calls results in collection, they don't care about the other 999 innocent people they are bothering.

They call me every day asking for someone who has our last name but does not live here. They say if i stay on the line I am admitting that I am the person they are asking for.

I've been getting calls from Mary Kennedy stating if I'm not Margaret Higgins (I'm not) hang up immediately.  The message left on my prepaid cellphone said it is a collection agency and left an acct #.  I hate having them use up my minutes.

I've received calls for david russells. it is a recording, I have no way to speak to a person.  It says this message is for david russells, if you are not david russells please hang up.

a do not call list doesnt apply to collection agencys, but as long you speak to someone who will actually take the time and listen to you,they'll removed your number if it is in fact the wrong number. the key is though, don't be rude, don't have attitude. be polite and corteous and in the same regard you'll get that treatment back.
