Folks, check (800) 772-1413 on this site.  I am sure it's Portfolio Recovery, a bottom-feeder collection agency trying to collect old debts (even 20 years old).  The area code 877 is also toll-free.  This company tried to bully people over the phone, and the people calling are hostile and abusive.

I got calls from (877) 772-1413 back in 2011.  I checked here, and only a few people posted.  Nobody knew who they were.  It was quiet till April 2012, when I got another call.  There were never any messages.

NOW, I've been calls from (800) 772-1413, and my Caller ID log shows it as "repeat" call.  That means the two numbers are coming from the same place or source, even if the area code is different.  No message, just calls and calls.  The Caller ID says "Toll Free Call".

Like Cordy, I've been cursing the invention of the telephone.  I wonder what Alexander Bell would think of this.

I've turned my ringer off, it's too much.

Also been getting HOUNDED by some "Unknown Caller".  (NO phone number is shown)  Call and call and call.  I have a strong suspicion it's them,  calling from different numbers all the time.  Probably trying to trick you into answering the phone.

This is me again, from last post of 8/6/11.  Just got another call from them Wednesday at 7pm.  No message.  Since they haven't called in almost a year, I thought I was off the hook.  Calling again it seems.

Got a couple of calls the past two days with no message.  The ID just said "Toll Free Call."

I've been getting many calls like this lately, from charity scams to collection agencies looking for someone else to the cable company (in that case, I recognize the number).  All of these companies call from multiple numbers, so it could be anybody.  All I know is that it's someone I don't want to talk to.

I always check numbers on this site to see if anyone else is getting disturbed, and who these people claim to be.  Lately I've been cursing the invention of the telephone.

just received this call  hung up after ans. gave message.  left no comment

call several times a day till one answers.  They are portfolio recovery services - using another spoof or another tn now as it use to be 800-772-1413 but today rang in as 877-772-1413.  Asking for the other person who may reside here - not here. Ask if i am his wife - NO! Ask when he will be home - DON'T KNOW DON'T CARE AM NOT HIS BABY SITTER ANY MORE!  These pukes crawl out of the woodwork whenever any lil inquiry gets put on you cbr - so alert another bunch of crooks are the credit bureaus themselves - these collectors pay them for some type of service that in turn says there is something - anything caused an activity here on this person - so out they all come.  a**es why don't you find out from your lil cbr alerter that the activity is the irs and they are taking everything - and you pukes are zombie collectors digging up old out of statute and more than likely beyond the 7yr reporting period and possibly already paid to some other scum collector years ago anyway so bug off. you made your contact few days ago. you made a person contact today.  send your letter out as you are required to do now, and while you are at it put the validation info on that letter so i can save the stamp from sending you another letter to tell you to send out a dv letter with proof you even have a right to be contacting my phone to begin with!

Called my phone and hung up. When called back, got msg, saying "I am sorry the call cannot be completed, please check the number and dial again...blahhhhhhh"

Called asking for my by my real name.  Had both my home and cell number (rang both lines).  When i asked who the company calling was, they said "We're not required to disclose that information."  I informed the caller, without revealing my identity, that the failure to report the name of the calling company, and additionaly the company they are calling on behalf of was in violation of federal law, and I asked to speak to a supervisor.  They hung up.  I have NO accounts in collection, and have not for over 10 years...  Who are these people???
