BTW, I have no long distance, that's what set me off at first.. He wanted me to state my birth date and location, which ofcourse he has.. You can tell a scam artist when they are talking fast, plus AT&T would never call you to tell you you are saving money.. The minute he slipped by with "Access is not affiliated with your current provider", which basically means he isn't from AT&T.. But he doesn't specify the current provider so as to keep it more open to other providers... It's likely someone wanting to collect your information so he can steal your identity, I doubt AT&T would permit anyone to do this.

I received a call from this number yesterday. The caller claimed he was from Verizon and was going to lower my long distance plan to $10.00 per month, claiming that since I wasn't using my long distance service and I qualified for a lower rate. I began questioning him about the current plan I am using. The longer the call went on the more upset he got and actually got angry with me because I was questioning him about this. I hung up..SCAM

I received the "courtesy" call from this number as described herein. I said I did not carry LD to be reduced and the caller said it was standard and he/she/it could not tell me the amount of my last total bill including internet as this was a long distance only carrier and would reduce that portion of my bill.

I only (needed) to answer 5 questions in the positive to receive the discount. I challenged, may not receive yes answers. Caller suggested that I would answer positive and receive lowered rates. I told caller I was entering the number to query serch engines to verify,.... ooooop, ooooop, ooooop, ooooop, went the receiver as the caller exited the call.  Can we block inividual numbers from our phones?

Initially represented themselves as AT&T with a service change courtesy call.  Began to inform me that my long distance usage was so low that my plan was automatically converted to their low usage plan.

Later in the call, I was asked to speak with another person to verify my "carrier change".  I immediately asked who he was with and he said "Access Communications" (or something like that)

I immediately hung up.
