Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them I have dealt with situations like this one on a daily basis. It sounds like typical debt collector tactics to get you to call in. I have handled many debt collectors and their rouge employees before. You should contact me 855 672 1988- Don't wait for the Gov. to handle these people, act now and we will get them Stopped!!!

 These people are as crooked as they come.I'm writing this for 2 reasons.1) I hope they see it cause they are the most corrupt conscienceless people I have ever seen and they always hang up on me before i can finish that rant and 2)I want people to know how to handle them and what they can and can't do.my sincerest hope is that when people get these calls they google the number or company name BEFORE paying.let's start with the so called courier service.it's no courier service,it's an employee of baker and associates(or whichever crooked collections company is contacting you.)my particular nemesis called herself chastity moore and claimed to want to set an appointment to deliver notice of legal action documents to me.yeah cause when you're trying to deliver documents that a person wont want to receive you always make an appointment.that was the first mistake.the second one was telling me that if I wanted to stop the documents from being delivered I needed to call this number(the same one everyone else listed)and find out how to get it stopped.that was both the second and third mistake because a)if a company takes legal action at that point no phone call is going to stop it and b)I did call the number in the hopes of gaining information that would help stop this harassment because at this point they weren't just calling me,they were also calling my mother and trying these scare tactics on her.I got a guy who was way more helpful than he intended.he filled me in on what the debt was and who the original creditor was,and when the debt was incurred.he also filled me in on the amount they were trying to collect.then he asked me for a payment method and started bargaining on the amount owed.I stalled on him and then when i got off the phone went to work researching all this.a few interesting facts here.The original debt was very small and the original creditor never even tried to contact me about it,and I was completely unaware of it.secondly the statute of limitations on this debt was up.and third the original creditor had closed this out long before.my guess is this company bought a large lot of debts and this was included,and they didn't really care about the details,they just wanted to collect on it with as much interest as possible.from what I found in my research this particular company relies on scares tactics to bully people into paying these debts,and a lot of people pay considerably more than is actually owed on a debt that may not even be legitimate simply because they ARE  scared.the amount they were trying to soak me for was ten times the original amount.instead of calling this guy back when i said I would to make payment arrangements i filed a report with both the FTC and the attorney general.the next day Ms. Moore called me again and when I informed her of everything I had found out,and that I had filed reports she became angry,cussed me out and then hung up.not 30 seconds later my mothers phone rang.she listened to the spiel about legal papers needing to be delivered(my favorite part was when this moron informed us that to refuse delivery or try to dodge her would be a "submission" of guilt.seriously???LOL!)and then my mother informed her of all the same things I did.she then cussed her out and hung up.the next day she tried again.and the next.but she never showed and the phone calls have stopped,at least for now.interesting huh?people,please be aware of the lengths these crooks will go to to rip you off and what you can do about it.do not pay out of fear.find out who the original creditor is and contact THEM,not the collection agency.find out when the debt was incurred,by who and how much the original amount was,and if the debt is still even open.then find out what the statute of limitations is in the state the debt was incurred in.and then file your reports with both the FTC and the attorney generals office.you can find all the info you need for that on line.This is important because the scare tactics and harassment is actually illegal and if enough people report them maybe they'll find a way to stop them.too many people have given these crooks their bank account information and been ripped off.it's hideous and they need to be stopped.

Just received another "restricted" call from this same guy (James Wright) wanting to remind me that today is the day that he is coming out to serve papers to me at my home or place of employment and to "make myself available" and to have a state form of ID.  Really?????  Bring it on buddy - until your supposed office provides validation of whatever debt this is for (in writing) and/or provides me a legitimate company name and address (which they won't), I think you have a snow ball's chance in hell of getting anything more from me.  I'm assuming you are from Nationwide DMS pulling the usual sneaky, unlawful tactics.  Why not go out and get a real job instead of harassing people.  I'm looking into debt consolidation for all my outstanding debts (to the legitimate debtors I owe), but not entirely sure this will get rid of these bozos, either.

Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
   try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt ? or your state law ? allows the charge;
   deposit a post-dated check early;
   take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or
   contact you by postcard.

I just received the same message as "anonymous" and "Really???" when I called my home phone to check for messages.  These tactics sound very similar to Nationwide DMS who has called periodically threatening the same thing and at times calling peole in the HR department where I work.  I have not called this number back, but had called Nationwide DMS previously and they refuse to validate the debt and refuse to give their office address or any information about them other than that they supposedly "serve papers" and take people to court.  The only information they would give was that they were in California, but other than that I did not need any information about them or where they were located, but they insisted that I owed a debt for a payday loan and told me I committed fraud and the only way to not have papers served was to agree to give them a pre-paid credit card or debit card that they could charge every two weeks (on my payday).  The first time these idiots did this, I was scared not to, paid them a total of $150 over 2 pay periods and then read posts about these tactics and how they were not legitimate so I closed my account so it couldn't be charged any more - to this day I have no idea if that money went to the debt I owed or not.  Do not fall for it like I did.

I got a call on my cell phone from James Wright Courier( he sounded automated), he said he had papers with my name & SS # on them & this was a courtesy call before he stops by my place of employment or my home. The name he gave isn't my name & if he stops by my place of employment he won't like it, I work on the same floor as the ATF. Those people don't like disturbances. As for stopping by my home I hope he does because my dog could use a new chew toy.  I don't like these tactics. I know someone who is a process server for the courts here & they never let you know ahead of time & you can't be served over the phone.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

I recieved a voicemail yesterday from a male said his name was James Wright Courier. He said he had some papers that were forwarded to his office under my name and SS# and he will be stopping by my house on Wednesday to serve me with a Certified Letter of Intent. I was to call 1-877-781-8499 and have my claim# that he provided available to find out more information. So I call the number and some women answers the phone doesnt state a name or company just says claim office. When I asked her claim office for what? she rudely said I cant help you unless you give me your claim number.  I tell her I'm not giving you anything until you tell me your company name, All i get out of her is we are the claim dept for several banks. So I just laugh at her and repeat The Claims Dept of Serveral Banks??? The lady just hung up on me. So I thought that was the end of it. Well this morning I get a call from the same guy. I immediatly called him a Scam artist and told him to never call me again. I told him to go ahead and show up at my house and we will just see what happens. He then told me to shut the F up and he just hung up. He called me 3x in a row after that but i never picked up. He left another message saying it was a follow up call from yesterday saying he will be out tommorrow between 12 and 9pm to serve me and make sure I'm available. I just got off the phone with the FTC to file a complaint. They told me to avoid contact with these people whenever possible. Its just someone trying to extort money from me. A Courier would never give you a heads up that they are coming to serve you papers.

Recieved  on a case against my name and social. They wanted me to verify my last four digits of social did not agree to do so.They gave some numbers that aren't even close to mine. They said they have wrong person and hung up. Obviously not a legit company, always ask what it is regarding and for them to verify info.

I received a phone call from this number. They say I owe for a payday loan from 2009. I have taken out a few payday loans but never defaulted on any of them until the fall of 2011. In the fall of 2011 I received a call stating that I was going to jail, the man pretended to be a lawyer and told me the name of several pay day loan companies that he represented. When I denied the claim and spoke to the police he then called and threatened to rape me, arrest me, kill members of my family and then called my place of employment. I do not know that this company isn't involved. I am skeptical of paying anyone at this point.

The harrassing phone calls have continued and they have called members of my family telling them that I will be arrested and face charges of fraud.

Now they say that they will come and serve papers on thursday. If that happens I will face further penalties. My husband is disabled. We do not get disability. I have no way to pay and i don't think I owe them, not for the dates they are saying, I never defaulted on any loan until 2011....Can anyone help me?
