I  keep seeing this number on my cell phone.

I received this same type of call.  I first received a call on my cell #  unknown  number.  A female responded she was attempting to serve me papers.  Being in the business I began to probe I ask her what company she's with and ask for her number she hung up.  She call back  and stated the call disconnect.  I began to ask again what company are you with , she stated she was a private  carrier and need to serve me papers.  I advised her I was not giving out any of my information over the phone with all the fraudelent scam going on.  She then stated if I have any further ? I could call 877-791-7033 and gave a case #.  I called person answer did not ID company name  so I ask where I was calling gave Western New York Capital or WNYC.  I then ask for the address was given P. O. Box in Buffalo NY.

**** To all that read this, if you recall in the new a few months ago there was a report on a debt collection company out in Buffalo New York****that was under investigation for violation of Fair Debt Collection Practice Act  similiar tactic as what we have experience.

I am a Collection Manager however I do not run my business in this manor.  This type of tactic give good collection company a bad name.

Know your rights as a consumer contact your State Attorney General file a complaint, contact FTC Federal Trade Commission and FCC.  This is misleading and deceptive practice.  

Don't ever give out your information over the phone.  If a debt collection  company or someone is calling you stating they are calling to serve papers on you., not true.  No one will call you to tell you they have to serve papers on you and if they are they would have all your information.

With all the scams never give out your information over the phone a debt collection will have your information if you owe them a debt.  They may even use tatic such as relatives or friends names and of course they would have this information  if you listed them as reference however the collection agent may use this information against you in a deceptive manor to collect on the debt.  Be cautious.

 I believe it's the same company that was in the news  a few months ago.  These type of business is known to change there name.  They use to operate in VA and I beleieve they are in FL as well.  Headquarter was in Buffalo NY.

Know your RIGHTS.  Contact your State Attorney General.  Stop this type of deceptive collection tactic.

HE CALLED AND SAID THAT HE HAD PAPERS TO SERVE AND FOR ME TO SIGN WITHIN 48 HRS. GAVE ME 877-791-7033 CASE #XXXXXX AND HE WOULD CALL ME BACK ON FRIDAY. DON'T KNOW WHO IT COULD BE OR WHY THEY ARE THREATENING THIS TYPE OF TREATMENT. I DON'T HAVE ANY PAYDAY LOANS AND I TRY TO PAY MY BILLS ON TIME.

Just got the same kind of call here.  They were leaving the message for my mother in law said his name was Chris and he was calling regarding some paperwork he needed to get out to her to get her signature on. Had her as the main party looking to get out to her residence in 48 hrs and she needed to make herself available. Also regarding myself and my husband.  Said if we needed more info before he came out to call 877-791-7033 and a reference number.  So my husband called this number and gave them the ref # and they wouldn't give any info to him even though his name was listed and wouldn't say what it was listed for said it was the 3rd amendment.  Wondering how they can't tell him what its for when his name is "listed"  Said the only way to get our names off is to have my mother in law to call and have it recorded.  Which will be kind of hard when she is in the hospital following a serious car accident with a broken back and shattered ankle.  Looks like we may be contacting our attorney.

Did the serving party request your supervisor to sign off on your papers.  this lady told me that my supervisor will need to sign as well....WTF my supervisor has nothing to do with this....  do you mind me asking what do you have to go to court for?

what is this for? I received the same call stating the same information. Does anyone know if they actually serve papers? Or is this a debt company trying to scare you

Did anyone ever show up to serve papers or get an signature?

Receive a call on my cell and on my work number stating they were James Randolph and he receive documents that required my signature he didn't know what the contents were and if he opened them he would loose his job and that he didn't care any way because he gets paids for signatures.. he said he will be at my home or my place of business and will call 2 hours prior.  he gave me the number of 1-877-791-7033 and gave me a claim number.

Do you actually serve papers?

My daughter received this call on her cell phone stating that she will be in the area on monday for her to serve some papers.  My daughter is underage and was only listed as a reference, why would my references be scared or even receive such a call.  Reference is to find me not state they are serving my children.   I called the number of the filing party to her blah blah blah about a payday loan i toke out and that all parties will be served....  The lady did call again on Tuesday and inform me that she will be serving me tomorrow (wednesday).   I told her ok ill be home after 6.  lets see if she shows.....until then  oh the lady does call private and claims to only serve the papers but she knew all about my conversation with Kara in their office.....

THE CALLER LEFT A MESSAGE ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE, SAID HER NAME VERY QUICKLY. SHE SAID SHE WILL BE IN MY AREA THE NEXT DAY FOR ME TO SIGN A STIPULATION(???); PLEASE MAKE MYSELF AVAILABLE. IT IS IN REF TO 'NAME OF MY EX-WIFE'. IF I HAVE ANY QUESTIONS I CAN CALL THE FILING PARTY AT 1-877-791-7033 WITH CASE ######. SHE HAS NOTIFIED ME AND WILL SEE ME TOMORROW.
I CALLED THE NUMBER AT 6:45 PM (PST) AND GOT THE MESSAGE: Western New York Capital 1, INC. AND THEIR BUSINESS HOURS.
I DON'T BOTHER TO CALL MY EX-WIFE.

THE CALLER DIDNT SAY NAME OR COMPANY AND STATE THE WILL CONTACT ME WITH IN 48 HOURS T SIGN SOMETHING, HE LEFT THIS NUMBER AND CASE ID BUT WHEN i CALLED THE PERSON DIDNT IDENTIFY THEMSELVES UNTIL I ASKED THEM THE COMPANY IS WNYC. AND THEY CALLED ME AT WORK AND I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE CALLES AT WORK.
