I have gotten several calls from this number and its concerning my perscription with Safeway. The customer service rep is SO helpful and overall just a great company to deal with. When they called today it was to just see if I needed my perscription reordered so that it would be available for me when I went to pick it up at my local Safeway. If you do receive any phone calls from this number keep just know that you will be dealing with very nice people who truly have your best interest in mind. Thank you Safeway and Katie, the awesome customer service rep!!

The program through safeways done wonders for me. They helped me get my Humira paid for 100% and saved me almost 700 dollars a month!! im sorry but i have nothing but good things to say about safeway/pavillions adn thier programs.

I use the Safeway program through the pharmacy and have had nothing but wonderful results. They have helped me in more ways that I can even count.

Safeway Specialty Pharmacy handles refills that need prior authorizations due to that fact that they only handle specialized medications such as my immuno-suppresent medications that insurance companies usually won't pay for because of their astronomical cost. I had a call from them in late August 2013 about them wanting to assist me with filling one of the above mentioned prescriptions and at that time I told them that I did not need to order that particular medication as I thought that I had enough to last me until early December and I asked them if they could call me back at that time and remind about this and they said that they would be happy to do so.

Well, on refilling my weekly supply of medicines this morning (11/23/13) I noticed that my Rapamune was rather low and also that the Rx has expired on 10/23/13 so I immediately called SSP and spoke with Katie about this and she said that during my last conversation with them that they had also noticed that the Rx was expiring and they had gone ahead at that time and contacted my Doctor and gotten an prior authorization and a new Rx

Katie also called over to the Safeway Pharmacy this morning to check and see if they had a sufficient quantity on hand to fill my new Rx which they did not have but they will order it for me today and it will be available to me after 3PM this coming Monday afternoon.

Their service is nothing short of OUTSTANDING !!

If you should ever have the need to use their services please do so. You will be GLAD that you did !

Or they simply have the wrong phone number.

It is a scam.  Multiple calls leaving voicemails asking for someone that does not exist at the business phone number.  Clearly a scam of some sort.

These are things that SOME of the medications MAY need, depending on med, dose, diagnosis and insurance.  Not all. The program is to help pwople like me with that.  If you don't need those, then that is fine, but I do and they are of great help in getting me my medications on time and at a price that I can afford.  If you no longer want the calls, simply tell them you are not interested in any aspect of their program and they WILL take you off of their call list.  They cannot, however, remove you without your express permission.  There is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to programs offering assistance, but should you need the help - it is great, if not, my friend had no problems in stopping their calls. and there really is no cost, it is offered free through Safeway and affiliates to help things run smoother for those that would like the assistance

It is the link to Safeway HR Department. I did my research before I agreed to be part of their program, and due to the patient privacy laws and sensitive information involved, only the patient themselves or a caregiver/POA may obtain information about the new services that all Safeway pharmacies are offering to their patient's on SPECIALTY medications FREE OF CHARGE, or choose to not be part of the program. They do offer help with insurance, I was able to get a prior authorization and a co-pay card through them, and other information in regards to other financial assistance for my extremely expensive HUMIRA. There are other services too, and they have pharmacists specially trained with the specialty medications available 24 hours a day, which came in helpful when I first started my medication and was not sure about some side effects that I had at the beginning that presented themselves after midnight, after hours for my Dr's office. I did not have to wait to find out how to deal with them, and did not have to make an un-necessary (and EXPENSIVE) trip to the emergency room thanks to them!

Safeway Specialty Care Program is great. They do not have any unauthorized, personal information because they work WITH Safeway pharmacies. Specialty medications require additional ordering and are not always in stock at pharmacies because of their price and because they're not used as often as an antibiotic or other common medications.  They have several services.. pharmacists available after hours for any questions, they help the doctor finish and get any paperwork if a prior authorization is needed, they keep prescriptions on file if one runs out of refills and they call ahead of time to make sure the med is ordered in time. Everyone there is friendly and cares about the patients. It's not a scam, it's a helpful program that I am happy I get to be a part of.  There are A LOT of scams out there but this is not one of them. All the information they get is provided directly from whatever local pharmacy you're filling with.

When they call to schedule a pick up, they are not saying that the prescription is filled, they are verifying that you are ready for the refill and scheduling the medication at a time that is convient for you.  This is a new program that all Safeway pharmacy's are offering, and Safeway is the parent company not only of Pavillions, but also Vons, Dominicks, Carrs, Randalls, and Genuardi's.  They also offer 24 hour pharmacist for all people on specialty medications, as well as any help with insurance issues or prior authorizations.  I suggest that if your pharmacist does not know the program, please re-give them our number so that we can inform them again of the new services thta their company initiated.  The database is not compromised.

Spoke to Rico. This is a way for Safeway to maximize their profits. They "welcomed me to their new program" and then they tried to tell me that my meds required special paperwork and prior authorizations and pre-ordering, none of which is true. I've been taking the meds for years and have never needed anything other than just a regular script. I asked that they stop calling me. If they don't, I will switch to another pharmacy.

@Stephenie, glad they helped you, but I DO live in a large city and my pharmacist knew about this company and has had numerous complaints about their tactics. None of my prescriptions apply to their program yet they still harass me. I have asked them to remove my number and even my Dominick's pharmacist contacted them for me. They refuse to listen so I just ignore their calls. However, I did tell DomInick's that if the calls continue, I will switch all my meds to another company.

You guys have it all wrong! This is company is part of Safeway that helps support patients on specialty medication. My Rx needed a prior auth and they helped me within one and I got my medication for free because the got me a co pay card I never knew was out there! Safeway owns Von's, Randall's, Dominick's, Tom Thumb and Pavilions pharmacies and they are servicing those patients as well..The Pharmacist at my store knew all about it but I live in a larger city and she did state that the smaller stores are not familiar with this program yet because it is so new. I recommend you answer the phone when they call because they saved me so much time and money!

Got a call from 877-801-8333 said they were "Safeway Specality Care Services" and that I had a pick-up and needed to call them back to "schedule it".  I went to the Pavilions pharmacy and they said that they do not call and ask for this type of information over the phone.  I think the Pavilions pharmacy database has been compromised and someone is calling the Vons/Pavilions pharmacy clients to get your information.

They called twice within two hours and left one message for me to call back regarding my prescription at Safeway. When I called back, the woman was abrupt and asked for my birthdate which I refused to give. I asked why she needed it and she stated that she had a pharmacy service for me and she needed to know my birthdate so she could transfer me to the appropriate person. I refused and she became quite rude and insisted I tell her the information if I didn't want my prescription to be adversely affected. I told her to never call me again and that I would be calling Safeway management to report her.

This company purports to be affiliated with Safeway, calling to offer specialty care services in conjunction with pharmacy services. They wanted my date of birth and name - information I do not give out over the phone. I asked for a web site so that I could verify their story, but the gentleman said they don't have one. I called my local pharmacy. They have heard of the program, but said that it doesn't apply to any of my prescriptions. Therefore, I will not be calling them back.
