Chapter 392, Finance Code, provides for both civil remedies and criminal penalties. Tex. Fin. Code §§ 392.402?.404. A consumer may take private legal action against a third-party debt collector or credit bureau for a violation of Chapter 392. In addition, a consumer may file a complaint with the attorney general if the consumer feels that the third-party debt collector or credit bureau has violated Chapter 392 by engaging in a false, misleading, or deceptive act or practice.

Engaging in debt collection without filing a bond with the secretary of state is a violation of Chapter 392 and may also be a criminal offense. Tex. Fin. Code § 392.402. The attorney general or a district or county attorney may investigate an alleged violation of Chapter 392. If you notify the secretary of state, this office will notify the third-party debt collector or credit bureau of the bond filing requirement and, if necessary, refer the matter to the attorney general for investigation. You are not a legit company, legit companies have an actual website and address to send validation of debt letters too and licenses and bonds to even collect and real phone numbers and dont resort to threating people with fake lawsuits to try and scare people. Oh yeah and actual documentation of a debt, you know the kind you mail to someone that they owe and dont make them agree to a payback program to recieve the letter in the mail. Your little legit company also needs to know that once you speak to someone on the phone you have a week to get them something in the mail as a follow up, and in TX a surety bond is needed even to collect the debt. I hope your little Legit company gets the book thrown at them along with all the other fake (Legit) companies you go under like ORBIT INTERNATIONAL, its funny when you google each one of those a simlar website comes up with no information but they sure do have the same date and format they were created on. Actually it is not a scam. I forgot all about a loan I took out and they helped me make easier arrangements to pay it off. This economy is awful, and they are more understanding than the original creditors... they were nothing but professional, and now it is months later from when i received my proof of payment or receipt letter in the mail... and if I have any questions I can still contact them if I need anything else.. Pay your bills people!!!!
