Company called Burns & Hoffman identifying themselves as an "arbitrtion company".

You are not alone.  Got a call from Burns & Hoffmann as well.  Requested the debt be validated and am still waiting.  Have called my attorney as well in regards to their language and tone.  Hopefully we will both be successful.

I received a phone call tonight and was very disturbed because I have always paid my bills and after talking to my father, who is a lawyer, has told me that he will be filing a law suit against them tomorrow I am very disturbed that their are such terrible people out there trying to scam people.

I got a message from a Mr. Jones.  I called back to ask who these people were that are calling me.  His message stated that I could be prosecuted through the fullest extent of the law.  If that was the case, they would not have waited over 4 years to find me and prosecute me.  They would not have left threatening messages.  I work for a Law firm.  You do not leave threatening messages.  Everything is done in writting to make sure that it is documented.  Although people might actually really owe this amount of money, it is never for what they say, and it is also never acceptable to harrass someone.

I have recieved calls from Burns & Hoffman as well. I thought this company was a scam so I asked them to send me over information regarding this loan they said I took out and it was indeed a true loan I took out. Just because the amount of the loan is higher than what you took it out for its because it goes into delinquent for so long tax's and fee's get tagged onto it. So I would suggest you people pay your bills as well. There never going to go away. These people are just trying to make a living like everyone else.

This individual calls and leaves messages on my answer machine his name is Arthur Clayton calling from 877-819-0949  leaving his ext.  204 with Burns & Hoffman  He.  is driving us crazy.  He continues to leave voice messages and ask for someone who's name I cannot even spell or pronounce. Tresha///  Sov?????  I finally listened to his entire message which starts after several beeps . He states he needs to speak to   ????????  his law firm has been retained to serve notice concerning/  to file several compliants as a defendent in case no,238319 in jefferson county.
I am  a 72 year old women with breast cancer and will be having surgery and chemo .   My self and my husband do not need this  harressment    . How do I get this Jack***  to stop.  
I tried calling and all I get is a voice message "Cannot come to the phone" I did leave  message.  WE shall see what happens now    These people should be put in jail.

I have the same guy Arthur Clayton calling me. And this may be a "new" company, but at the beginning of the year I was receiving calls and they were with supposedly a different company, but when I googled the number, it came back to the sane address as this company. I recorded the guy belittling me and threatening me at that time. I just don't answer this time.

I received a call from same number every other week they are asking for a different person in my family with the same oh threats, I know they are a scam will not entertain them!!!!  I always look up these scams online before I even get bent out of shape!!! Mr Gerald Higgins called me sounding like a robot!

i have been recieving calls from this company for the last 2 months. They keep telling me that they are taking me to court and that this is my final notice and if i dont respond w/in 24hrs they will send the complaints to the county to be handled to the highest level of the law. When i called back to find out what its about they tell me i owe money and ask for my debit card number or bank info also. the guy that keeps calling me is Mr. Clayton and im getting pissed off about it. Its a constant thing all day long, im tired of the harrassment and the rude threats that he tries to give me. I agree the scamming has to stop.

I just recieved a phone call same story.  Saying I owe $1000.  Hmm, I only owed $267.  Wow.  They almost had me until they wanted a debit card number or bank account number.  I insisted on sending them a money order and they wouldnt have it. Glad I found this site.  I called information for Tondwanda NY and they had no listing for Burns and Hoffman.   I called the number and the operator and the"company"   also said it was a PO box address, they address they had gave me was 157 Bryant St., Tonawanda, NY 14233.  The guys name was Marcus Johnston.

I got a call from these guys too.  They have a website but I think they are bogus too.  They give me the SAME story that another company did about 6 months ago.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!  Record the times they call you and then go to consumerlawcenter.com and report them.  This place goes after "companies" that violate the fair collections practices act.  According to the Secretary of State's site, this collections company - Burns & Hoffman is registered at 167 Ashland Avenue, Buffalo, NY  14222 and started up in May 2010.  Their site has a PO box in Tonawanda, but I think these are the same guys.  If you are being harrassed, go after them with the law.  And file a complaint with the NY Secretary of State.  This scamming has to stop!

I received a phone call from them as well today, apparently they are a "Law Firm" that want to press criminal charges against me. A few years back a payday loan was taken out in my name, I have been arguing with this company for the last 4 years about this claim.

I spoke with a lawyer (I live on top of a law office) and these claims are BOGUS. They are a collection agency trying to collect money their client feels they are owed. My suggestion ignore the call and don't even bother trying to explain as the representative will belittle you and threaten you. Save all your voice messages from them as it is AGAINST the law for these collectors to try and intimidate you into payment. I have been listening to these messages yearly this time of year. My lawyer/landlord actually called the place back to say he was representing me and all calls are to go to him and all the sudden the "lawyer" calling me to inform me of these criminals charges had nothing to say and hung up 2 years later the calls start again.
