Signature Escapes. Arrived in Indiana this week ,. flashy travel club sales presentations and then misleading them with false claims about free trips and features of a travel membership club that was anything but a bargain.

Signature Escapes made their way across the Midwest, renting hotel conference rooms or ballrooms to lure would-be travelers to their promotional performances. At least half of the consumers who complained were seniors who likely were planning to travel during their retirement years. All of the complaints were made by couples who purchased the packages together.

Signature Escapes agent of the firm, traveled from town to town setting up one-day travel club sales presentations and leaving local consumers with little more than a packet of deception and misrepresentations.

office alleges that after the defendants had left town, consumers found the free trips they had signed up for would actually cost them hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Signature Escapes    allegedly took these consumers on a trip, but it certainly was no vacation, Many of these couples no doubt worked hard for years to enjoy travel in their retirement, but they were deceived.by paying $8000 and  some got the same deal for $1500.

Signature Escapes  unfair and deceptive acts in violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Among the many defendants allegedly told prospective members that by joining the travel club, they would enjoy substantial discounts on airline tickets; receive vouchers for free condominium stays anywhere in the world; be eligible for trips to Mexico and other vacation spots; and receive a money-back guarantee if they were dissatisfied with their membership.
Stay away  setting up in Indiana hotels now Contact  attorney general .

Signature. escapes  is the same company as legacy destinations , TravelMDU sent me an invitation to a presentation and offered free vacation (a cruise for 8 days/7 nights) Or round trip tickets for two people on American islands  to attend. I attended and sat through a 90 minute presentation  Travel club of shady salespeople one who smelled so bad from booze  my wife almost got sick.

They claim to model themselves after SAMs Club and COSTCO and offer deep discounts on vacations to VIP Membership for fees that range from $5000 to $8, 000. as they drop there prices as many times as we said no.

The DECEPTION is the actual vacation prices offered on their web site (that you can only access after you are a member) is the same or even higher priced than you get form searching the internet. In most cases you have to provide an agent with information to get a quote and you have to wait at least a day (up to 3 days)for a quote. They gave me the impression I would be able to get all the information I need to book a Cruise online. This is a misrepresentation of what they offered at the presentation. They give you the impression they purchase vacation packages for their members and offer them at cost. They claimed to make money on membership fee only. But it appears they are basically a second rate travel agency.

If you are looking at this message you were either invited to attend a travel club presentation (don?t go, it?s a scam), You have attended and did not buy (good for you, you are smarter than me), or you attended and joined (welcome to the club ? this message is for you)

The companies  signature Escapes ,Legacy Destinations. Former. Name There are many more nationwide, it?s like a franchisee of traveling con Artist .

These companies  Signature. escapes  claim to sell family dream vacations; you would think they have families so they would be honest people. Instead they are predators that prey on middleclass families and retired couples for the little money they have.

If you have been scammed you should ASAP:

1. Cancel your credit card (so they cannot charge your account for a membership fee)

2. Dispute the charge on your credit card (what happen to you was Thief by Deception)

3. Report them to the, BBB, consumer reports. And a tourney general and local news .

4. Contact the Consumer Affairs Director in your state
5. Send a cancelation letter to them by certified mail
6. If you were contacted by mail, contact the post office to report mail fraud

Here is a fox news report on the scam (you may recognize some of the people in

TAKE ACTION: I am creating a database of people that were scammed and collecting some statistics that we can show police and the credit card companies in case we have problems disputing our claims.

Purchased a Gold membership which was to include 100,000 reward credits that were to appear in our account for use within 48 hrs. Additionally, when I got to looking at the site everything they seemed to have told us about their company and our contract were not true. So I tried contacting them at 866-653-2139 ext 818 to get out of the contract but no one would ever call back, I have been leaving emails with reservations' dept since 8-25-2013 through today, continued phone calls still nothing. I want my money back, have told them this as a result of them breaking their contractual agreement and their unseemly way of doing business.
These people have the audacity to think I would be dumb enough to sign a hotel agreement that states when I get to my hotel, that I booked 5 months prior, in Orlando, in peak season, if they tell me "oops we over booked" Signature Escapes has the right to put you in another room of lesser or greater value or better yet cancel your reservation all together and charge you some sort of fees for the financial hardship they incurred. Give me a break the only person that will be incurring a major financial hardship in this situation, along with a lot of frustration would be anyone stupid enough to sign that type of an agreement, ludicrous. We are talking about major scam artist at work here. Can you please help. stop  SIGNATURE ESCAPES  from ripping off om more victim ,

I just went tonight to the DirectBuy "open house"
1.  They do give you the gifts before you leave, but you have to sit through their sales pitch.
2.  I didn't get my E-pad (they were supposedly out), but they gave me a nice knife set, and a $100
restaurant gift card (not a very good selection of restaurants, but what ever ..$100 is $100)
3.  They are going to give me the E-pad when it comes in ..within a week (you better believe I'll be calling them every day next week until they give it to me)

The place is REALLY not a bad deal ..it's a little expensive around $5000, but you could make that up very fast with the product savings you would get.

By the way ..there is NO obligation in order to get the prizes (I didn't become a member)

Oh yea ..you also have to make the decision to join that night ..typical "high pressure" decision gig

Hope this info helps ...

They get your name and address from data broker.  They buy the address (some address is over 10 years old and some of the address from people that is not even living anymore).  They will offer you the tablet in exchange for joining them.  If you join them depending on where you lived.  They may charge you $4600 to $4900 for a 3 year membership.  And 190 dollars for the next 7 years depending on where you live.  And  If you choose to take their E-pad offer.  They can legally contact you through the phone and mailing.  They are the DirectBuy.  (It's tactics are close to of those of timesharing and money  making pyramids scheme.  However their 'front' may have you believe in the things differently)

We got one of these offers-we live in New York-offer said to call telephone 855-893-2267 or locally 518-893-2267. Funny coincidence-less thn a week ago we went on a day trip with a senior club we belong to, to a resort in Pennslyvania which as it turned out was also a time share. Our telephone numberwas on a form we had filled out for some seemingly legitimate reason.

Did you call the 518-893-2267 (or google it).  It is a legitimate camping resort park located north of lake george who used a marketing company to "choose" candidates that are then invited to the resort for a "tour" with no obligation other than to spread the word about the resort.  I live about a hour away and ended up being offered a 10 day free camping offer for attending during the week on top of the tablet.  I almost stayed at this camp resort previously so figured why not drive up, check it out and get some free camping too.  Apparently this marketing company mails this same offer for all kinds of questionable businesses but this particular phone number is legit.

Also got one in the real mail. I'm in New York, and my number search led me here. From what I've read, there are many variations on this mailing. I haven't called the phone numbers the piece of junk mail gave, but here they are for helpful information about this scam : toll free 1-855-893-2267, local 1-518-893-2267. I wonder if the last 7 numbers tie into the same place, as they are identical? The envelope had all kinds of 'dire' information in the return address section. Like "final notice/ postmaster/ obstruction of mail.....a dead giveaway, as our modern mail sorter machines prevent any postal worker from seeing messages on mail, and legitimate businesses can't be bothered printing those sorts of things on their envelopes. The 'stamp' is permit # 3950 from West Palm Beach, Florida.  I suspect it might be a time-share promotion. If so, you, or husband & wife must both, go to the place and listen to their sales pitch. Usually the place foots all the bills for plane tickets, and you stay at their hotel, food included. After listening to all their spiels, say no to it all, (unless you really want what they're marketing) when it's all done, and you get the loot (either way). I have relatives who go on these because it is free mini getaways, and they do have fun!! They never get the time shares, just the promotional items. My junk mail offered a new e-pad touchpad tablet complete with android software or a new laptop/netbook computer complete with software, and....if I call within 72 hours, also a Polariod digital camera.

Well, they're still working it here in MN.
Just got mine today. Phone number this time is 952-237-6239.

Called the number and was told that there was nobody available to take my call.
Decided to Google it and the first result brought me here.
Needless to say I won't be getting a free E-Pad (not like I would have anyhow.)

I think I might have to report this to the State Attorney General.
