Yes.  It is a scam.  Google it and you'll find recordings of similar messages.

I have gotten calls on and off from various people using all of the names and numbers above for the last 6 months.  However I I have gotten the same voice mails as stated above both yesterday and today.  The difference in the call today is that instead of it showing the 877 number is actually showed up as a number in British Columbia, Canada (778-326-316 with the last digit missing).. I have filed a complaint with The Attorney Generals Office, Spoken to my bank, Spoken to the Local Courts and the Police Department.  All of which have advised me not to answer or respond to these calls.  As for the "packet" of information, I have worked at the same location for almost 10 years and lived at the same address for almost 7 and low and behold no such packet has ever been mailed, served or delivered to either place.  I am actually at the point of filing my own suit against these people for fraud, harrassment, threats, impersonating a law enforcement officer and anything else that I feel in the mood to add to it.

I have gotten the exact word for word voicemall as you this last week. I was pretty sure it was a scam, thanks for posting this. I also noticed at the beginning of the voicemall it sounded like a recording had just ended and they were starting a new one for my voicemall....

Same thing as all the other posts. Stated they were going to serve papers at my place of employment or at my address that I haven't lived at in 8 years!! Total scam, just wish I knew where I could visit them in person.

Received the same call over and over.

Jason Chambers to get in contact with you this morning.  We have a contract of yours authorizing a transaction to be debited out of your bank account.  The transaction was returned for one reason or another.  This is considered intent to defraud. We will be contacting the American Banking Association within the next 5 business days. This WILL (emphais placed onWILL) affect any bank account attached to your name and social security number. It is in your best interest to contact us while there is still time to resolve thsi issue. Contact us at 877-832-7292. Again that's 877-823-7292"

That is word for word what has been left on my VM 3X daily for the last 3 days... googled American Banking Association and there is no such thing .. it's the American Bankers Association and best I can tell from their website they don't do anything with "intent to defraud"...which would imply something that isn't correct.  An returned transaction is not intent to defraud... it's like a returned check.

Used to get the message about a law firm Lombardi with the pg 15 story that they needed to talk to me about for the upcoming trial, now it is check fraud thing.  Don't have, and haven't had any "authorized" bank withdrawals with them or any other firm.  Complete scam.

These people keep calling my parents looking making all kinds of threats. So I called them and asked them who were they looking for they gave me some name I've never heard so when I tell them that person doesn't live there the woman nuts out on me and starts saying all kinds of crazy stuff and hangs up. I called back to ask for a supervisor so she starts cussing at me and hangs up. By now I am so irritated because they have been harassing my parents for weeks now I called her back she said I was harassing her funny right and told me she was going to call the police and have me arrested for harassing her so I told her go ahead she puts me on hold and comes back about 5 minutes and asks if I still want her to call the cops I told her sure. Truth is she didn't and she won't they are not a law firm and all they are doing is trying to scam good people out of money. Don't give them any info and report them to the FCC and the BBB.

I have gotten several calls from these creeps. once i realized the phone number that started with 716 was a scam and stopped answering it they starting calling from this 877 number. Same B.S. crap about a hearing, and me being the claimed defendant. All of it is crap they are not even real lawyers.

Ive been receiving calls from this number this entire year about 3-4 times a day about summons,court,please contact, but this time it was clever and called at 8 isn AM! PST.. leaving a message a low barry white voice. no name of a company he said his name was JASON CHAMBERS.. and he has "legal authorization to collect any amount due to whatever account I have my social security # attached too.."WTH!!! leave me alone!!

We have been receiving these calls at work all the time.  They come through to the general mailbox, so we are not responding to them.  They either state we are involved in a legal matter and need to respond or they are calling about a illegal banking transaction made to our account.  If these are collection calls for one of our employees, isn't it illegal to harass an employee at work for debt collection?

I got the same kind of call! They were threating me before with serving me papers, now this? I think they just move to other tactics when the others didn't work.

I received a call from this number and I called back but it just rings. The message was the exact same as the one above. I will be looking into this further to see if there is anything we can do to stop these calls.

Got a call from this number today.  Said something about check fraud and if I didn't call back they were going to call the American Banking Association, which would result in all my bank accounts being cancelled... First, there is no American Banking Assoc. It's the American Bankers Assoc.. which is a lobbying and education organization.  I also checked with my bank, and they assured me this is a scam.  Don't fall for these threats!  Plus, they are not lawyers.. they are a debt collection firm. And I don't have any outstanding debts..

Call your States Attorney Office I did yesterday and send them a letter or tell them when they call that threats are illegal.  I told the guy to send me to court and we would see if how they conduct buiness is legal :)

I had to report that number to my States Attorney Office and file a complaint because what they were doing was agaist the law.  One this is to try to collect a debt but it is very different when they harrass someone and make fase statements (which i was told was illegal)  --- Call your State Attorney Office !!!!!!!!!!!!!

They called looking for a friend by name saying I was named in a case to appear as a witness and needed to confirm my name and address so they could serve a subpoena. This was urgent and could I confirm who I was, blah, blah, blan, so I wouldn't be in contempt of court. Sorry, but, if this was truly a court matter, I'm sure they would know my name and address. They gave a telephone number of 877-832-6316 as mentioned by a previous poster.

Got an automated call (in as many days) from a Chris Jensen of the Offices of Lewis & McCarthy -- what a joke...it's a scam people, don't believe it

got a automated call from christina davis in regards to case number j??s-1457 to give a call back to 877-832-7292.

Recieved a call from this place TODAY.  They are calling my direct line at work and the gentelmen was RUDE.  Called and left a message from Lewis and McCarthy saying this was an issue directly with my bank account. This is a company phone, I dont perform personal business at all through my work phone.  The person indicated that he was looking for someone who no longer works at my company.  She has not worked at this company in roughly 5 years.  

I told him they needed to remove the number, as this is a place of business.  He said he didnt NEED to do anything.  WTF...I told him to do whatever the ___ he wanted to do but stop wasting my time.

just recieved another voice mail that is on recycle mode that repeats what was cut off in the beginning stating they wanted to go over the "package" that was recieved by my residence or place of employment which i have not gotten................. stating to call back at 877-832-7292 to speak with megan his receptionist because he has "hearings" to attend lol funny stuff. again shows up on my phone as 716-332-2328

started getting called that show up on my cell phone as 716-332-2328 after leaving me 2 hang up calls on my voicemail i recieved a recorded message from christina davis for lewis and mccarthy to call 877-832-7292 and gave a case number but i deleted it up to that point because i knew that it was probably a scam and all your comments just reassured me of it.

Same number called me. Left that same recorded message (I only know it was recorded because the beginning of the voicemail played the tail end of the message) from Allen Goodman about page 15 of papers that were never received. So I called back and ended up hanging up on the woman who called me back about 20 times from a 716 number. These scam people are absolutely ridiculous. The first phone call was last week. She has been constantly calling my phone blocked. Her name is Kristen Reed (And I have cussed her out and hung up on her numerous times. You'd think she'd be tired of hearing such language).

Got the same exact call you got.  They didn't even ask for a name just for the person to call back. Trust Me, don't call back, there just looking for more information to steal.

I get this call all the time, with the same message they never ask for anyone just start in with their speel, looked the number up here so I no longer answer the phone, sometimes it is my grandmother that answers the phone and so she listens and said that they said something about internet fraud, I told her to not even bother answering and we are on the do not call list for our landline and my cell phone, thanks for the information
