Watch out. They will use a different company name and phone number to call you. They called me originally from "Net solutions" or "Network Solutions" at 877-855-5720, then today they called from "Web USA" 855-592-5733. They gave their website address as www.webengineusa.com, which has nothing really "ad" like on it. I told them that they need to provide us with a written and signed contract, or our Board of Directors will not approve payment to them. Totally ridiculous! Be mindful of them and their many company names and numbers.

877-855-5720. 'Gary Mitchell' Had business owners name. Refused to leave message. These creeps and scammers should be hunted down and prosecuted. It makes one wary of doing any business on the internet or via the telephone. There is a real cost in productivity and efficiency let alone the costs to the elderly and technologically illiterate. These creeps are opportunist scumbags and should be set in stocks in the townsquare. Go old school on them. Anyone that works for these operations should be ashamed of themselves.

Received a call from this number asking if I wanted to continue my subscription to Network Solutions......Never even heard of this company.  She stated she would send a final bill and put me on the do not call list and forwrd my bill of $498.  Told her she didn't know what she was talking about and I never ordered or heard of that company......very harassing!

Just got this call.  Said my company had authorized this a year ago (but couldn't give me that date).  I said why are you just calling now, no one sends a bill a year later!  Said they bill at the end of the year and was calling to collect and to continue/cancel for the coming year.  I told her I would never, never authorize that kind of expenditure over the phone and she said well maybe someone else in the company did.  I told her, I was the company!  Asked her to send me proof that I authorized, i.e. copy of recording and a confirmation letter or a contract.  What a scam...I wonder how many people fall for this.  I'll be watching for them in the future to see if they have the balls to try this scam on me again!

I got a call on my business phone on 7/22/13 and she said she was from Network Solutions and that she was calling regarding a past debt in the amount of $498 that was owed!! I caught on right away because I have never had anything from Network Solutions and she then proceeded to verify my business address. I told her she would have to call back later to talk with the co owner and she never did call back!! BE AWARE OF THESE PEOPLE/SCAMMERS!!!!! I did call Network Solutions just to make sure no one called from there and they said they would never call their customers like that!!!

Same thing just happened to us, they said we started the account last June and have not made a payment! Well we just started our company in December of 1213, as soon as I said this couldn't be true she said that they would give the information to cooperate for an investigation! I wonder how many people they have received money from? I am definitely contacting the general attorneys office about this today! These scammers need to be stopped!

Net Solutions - Calling to cancel my account with the final bill.  What is wrong with these "people"?

Scam.  We also got the exact same call.  Claimed we had canceled and they only bill once per year....
They tried very hard to get me to agree to a $498 bill.  Had the wrong address, but they did have my first name. The only difference is they said their name was "Net Solutions".

Same story as all of the above. I got a 2nd call today, the last call was about 6 weeks ago. I stated I didn't recall setting up a directory listing and they said they keep all tapes and would get back to me.

I do have my whois set to private, but I did pay for a Manta premium listing for awhile, which resulted in a huge influx of telemarketer traffic.

Same scam from Network solutions. The man calls says he received a cancellation notice of my ads and wanted to verify. I said I have no paid subscriptions with you and asked who they were again and he hung up. This is the 3rd time in a year that they have called and the conversation always goes the same way. When I ask details, they hang up! Pretty annoying!

Some unknown man just called me from this "Network Solutions" , verified my OLD company information
and claimed I owe them $498 for internet advertising, said they don't send a bill but ONCE A YEAR with NO notification!!! (note: I changed my company name twice in 2012, and they were unaware !)
And they are sending me a bill ??????
I asked for some kind of confirmation that I had ordered this service, and the guy blew a fuse !!
This is a SERIOUS scam. I will be reporting this to the FBI, AND FCC TODAY.
Be VERY careful who calls you on the phone.

SCAM ALERT

Our office was called on 4/23/13 and told we'd had a business listing for almost a year that "someone" had called to cancel two months earlier.  When I told him I was the only person who managed our marketing he asked for our doctor (had his name) and now said it was him who'd called to cancel.  I put the male on the phone on hold and checked with the doctor in our office~ he'd never heard of the company or called to cancel anything.  When I came back to tell this to the caller he'd hung up.

SCAM ALERT     Got a call from this number saying they had got my notice that I wanted to cancel my Business to Business listing. Wanted to go over my $497 final invoice. I told him it was scam and he hung up.

Male called, he had my name. He said I cancelled 3 months ago and wanted to see if I wanted to rejoin. I asked what company, he said Network Solutions. I told him I never joined or cancelled Network Solutions. He said someone at this phone# did. I advised him I am the only one who answers this phone ( my home phone ) and he said well, someone did and hung up.
I called Network Solutions. The gentleman was VERY nice. He apologized and said they would NOT make a call like that. He looked up my name & domain name, said he showed had nothing and apologized again.
I am assuming someone is trying to get credit card numbers over the phone.

For all those having this issue... it is likely that your contact info was taken from your domain registration that is accessible via whois.net or from any domain registrant's whois database.

This same this happened to me but I caught on immediately when the guy gave a wrong email for me.

Network Solutions is a REAL domain registration/hosting site. If you have your domain registered/hosted there and do not have a PRIVATE registration, this is HOW this scammer is getting your contact info.

Consider CHANGING your domain registration to a PRIVATE one to protect your contact info from telemarketers and scammers.

I called Network Solutions to report this incident. The lady I talked to said that Network Solutions does NOT call its customers regarding their accounts, they email only. Any time you get a call from anyone claiming to be from Network Solutions, ask them to repeat back your account number (scammers DO NOT have access to this information). Do not give out your contact information or account number to anyone claiming by telephone to be from Network Solutions.

Got a call from a debt collector.

Just got the exact same call to our business as well.   They offered to get a recording and we said then get it.   Wanted $400+ for services rendered.  Set it up over a year ago.

This company also uses the number 866-562-9455, in addition to 877-855-5720.

Same company. Net Listing Solutions. Same story as above. The called. said that I had ordered their services. I don't use these kinds of services. I told him I don't remember ordering it. he says it must have been set up error on their side or maybe I thought it was something else.

He  gave a number to call 866-758-4223. All extensions are routed to voicemail.

He wants to bill me $498.00 the last year of service I supposedly used. Sending me a bill is mail fraud and a federal offense.

I just received the same call and appreciate this advice.  I have noted the time and date of the today's call and will continue to make notes when they contact me.  I asked to hear the recording they claim to have and they said they would call me back tomorrow with the proof.  I am a web designer and would NEVER have agreed to something like this.  I hope someone finds them quickly and shuts them down.

We had the same problem  with company before.   They called and wanted to know if we wanted to renew,(we had never request anything in the beginning) we said NO, they then said we owed $495. for services provided from the previous two years.  I told them this was a lie that I was the  office manager and that I did not authorized this.  They went on to tell me that I still had to pay, I told them send me the back up. They said they wouldn't that they had a recording, I told them send me a copy and would have my attorney look at it.  They continued to harass us and send bills for something that was never authorised or order. They said I had to pay no matter what I thought and they could prove it.  I continuned to ask for documentation of services, a contract the tape. They refused.  I contacted my states Attorney General and reported them, I sent them the letters and my notes for each conversation.  They were in violation of the law for not being register to solict business in state of Alaska and it was illegal for them to harass me for services that they legally couldn't offer as well as the fact they would not provide proof that anyone the company had requested such. The attorney General sent them a letter and threatend a $10,000.00 fine. They were asked to remove my name and number and never contact me again. It's odd, they just called my number today and we have been out of business for more than a year. (We just kept the same number) I didn't even pick up, I know the number too well. Good luck and contact your attorney general.

Some dude from Network Solutions called me and told me that I had some six months ago contracted with them to have our company listed in their business to business directory.  We had supposedly told them a month ago that we wanted to cancel, so they were charging us $495 for services rendered.  I told them I knew nothing of this and that I wanted proof of the contract.  He said he'd send it to me and would call me back.  He gave me the website netlistingsolutions.com to find my company's listing.  I looked at the sight, which is totally phoney, and found a barebones listing of our company that wouldn't benefit anyone in the least, since they'd have to know our company name to even look us up, and they'd find only the name of the company and nothing else.  Who do I report this scam to?
