Verizon scammer looking for your personal info.  If you call back they ask for your personal info.  Verizon really needs to nip these guys.

Do Not Call List is useless if you have or have ever had an account with Verizon.  When you signed up for service, you gave them permission to peddle your number to telemarketers.  More and more companies are hiding this clause in the fine print.  Stopping this practice requires congressional action, so call your congressperson.  Maybe they will eventually get back from their corporate-sponsored luncheons and get to work serving the people.

This number called me several times, never left a message. I called back and got a recording saying "thank you for your interest in Verizon Wireless... yada yada" but each time after waiting on hold for several minutes I was disconnected. I called *611 and asked the Verizon rep there to confirm it was actually Verizon calling, and if so what do they want. Verizon is my carrier but if they're calling to solicit me to buy something further, I'll be very mad. The Verizon rep called the number but was unable to confirm that it is actually Verizon calling.

Definitely Verizon.  Here's what I got from the call:

1.  The model of all of the phones on my plan (Yeah I knew that information)
2.  The upgrade date of all of the phones on my plan (I knew that too)
3.  What plan I have (Knew that)
4.  We don't use all of our data each month (Knew that, Down grading would save a whole $10 better safe than sorry)
5.  They offer home service. (I have 4 cell phones, I don't need another phone to get annoying calls on.)
6.  They have tablets (We all have tablets. No, they aren't 3G or 4G.  I really don't need a BIGGER BILL)

When I told her I didn't need the tablets, she said thank you and hung up)

We have verizon cells, however, our bills are paid and these calls come on our home phone. We are on the do not call list which is worthless. I will not answer these 877 numbers that show up daily!

This number calls twice a day and never leaves a message.
I finally called back and it's a Verizon automated rep asking to hold.
My account has always been current, and I do NOT want unsolicited phone calls.

I received call from this number yesterday.  It was Verizon and while they did offer promotions to add to my service, the main reason for the call was to inform me that my minimum share data plan was automatically increasing to 500mb from current 300mb.  She informed me that Verizon was no longer offering the 300mb plan for $40 but instead would be offering the 500mb plan for $40 so they were upgrading all current customers to the new 500mb level.  This was later verified on line on MyVerizon.

It's Verizon's marketing department.  Last month I went over my data allowance and they wanted to move me to a "better plan".  We normally only use half of our data allotment, so I declined.

This is an update to a previous message. Although we talked to these people before and declined what they were offering, they continue to call using other numbers. They use 888-863-8462 as well as this number. They are not really tied to Verizon but they sell promotional items through Verizon and make a cut. If you want to make a change, go to Verizon and do it.

This number called me and when I asked who it was the last started swearing at me, calling me a f**king Cracker and telling me she was going to come by my house because she knew my account address.  It was. Nightmare.  This was on. August 4, 2013.  Scary.  I'm calling the police.

call 611 on cell for Verizon customers. complain, tell them NOT to sell your info out and block number on all lines. the block is good for 90 days. this is NOT Verizon, it is a 3rd party vendor. do not give them any of your info, it gives them the legal okay to open your account and talk with you.

I left Verizon a few months ago for AT&T after over a decade with them...  I think they're trying to win me back, but I never pick up the phone...  I hate needy people and begging telemarketers!!

This is Verizon. We talked to them on our home line. They were able to tell us information about our plan (and decided it was working for us). Then they asked if we wanted to upgrade our phones, add a line or a tablet. We declined. I asked how long the promotion was going and they said the same promotion was NOT available online at the Verizon Wireless site. This made me think they were working separately from Verizon. May be a scam that has tapped into the Wireless Network accounts or worse yet, working off a list sold to them by Verizon. Anyway they are not debt collectors. If it is Verizon, why doesn't it say so on the caller id instead of 800 Service or Anonymous?

I finally called back this number that had been calling my phone relentessly for a couple weeks now.  It was indeed Verizon wireless.  She asked for my cell# and then pulled up my account.  After looking at my account, she asked if I wanted to add another family member and I said NO.  Then she asked if I needed a tablet and I said NO.  I asked her to remove from the call list and she said she did and that it could take up to 30 days.

I got a call from this number everyday for 2 weeks.. I finally called back.  It indeed was Verizon.  They wanted to see what they could do to better my plan.  "Would you like to add additional data on your plan for 10.00 a month?"  I see if you an upgrade, we can send a new phone out to you today!"  blah blah..

Google Voice transcribed her message (and I edited since it isn't perfect):
"Hello. This is Alicia Grimes calling on behalf of Verizon Wireless and I can call back another time. If you have any questions in the meantime, give me a call at my toll free number (877) 861-4963. Thank you."
So, "on behalf of" means not Verizon....BLOCKed

Was a man claiming to be from Verizon. He knew my name, number, what type of phone I own and what type of plan I have without me divulging any information to him other than confirming my name when I answered my phone. He said he was just calling to thank me for being a customer and wanted to see if I was interested in buying a tablet. I told him know and that was all. He was nice and not pushy, but was still a strange call.

Oh and to the comment from the guy who said that paying your bills is a luxury... Um.. no, it is not. It is mandatory. If you can't pay your phone bill, then cancel it. By not paying your bill, you are STEALING! And yes, it IS that simple. You wouldn't tolerate it if you provided a service to someone and they didn't pay you for it, and I am certain you wouldn't be happy if that person got angry with you for wanting to get paid for a service that you already provided them with. I know everyone falls on hard times at some point, but lashing out at people who don't sign up for something they can't afford is just childish. Grow up.
