I have had my personal checking account levied against my account ....never served notice and a lien was placed on my account ....I am  disabled on limited income and did not know about any of this until it had a lien had already been ordered... it isnt a debt i owe and is 12 years after my hospital stay .... I need help disputed  bill in 2002 and told them that they needed to bill my insurance co.  I had 90% coverage at this time and now with no notification my account has been lien for funds not owed this is fraud and well past calif law of 4 years statute of limitations.. bank did not notify me of any of this ...I do not owe this debt..I am disabled limited income please help my phone number is 707-570-7187  my email address is edge2heart@aol.com asap would be great ............hope to hear a response as funds are to be dispursed on the 14th of april ...went to sheriff already filed for exmption do not know the out come really need help I believe this is a fraudulant scam

I am an attorney who is representing someone who is dealing with a very similar situation.  Simply put, Gary Bemis and his collection agency, Account Management Services Inc., (which does not exist according to the state of California) claims that they served my client a complaint and, because she did not respond, a default judgment was entered against her in the amount of her principal plus a 300% markup for the collection efforts.  In other words, she has only now learned that AMSI obtained a default Judgment against her in the amount of $31,000 that, in the last year, has miraculously now turned into $41,0000 for a 2001 vehicle, purchased in 2007 with 68,000 miles on it (a loan, that had been paid down quite a bit before my client's finances fell victim to the Bush Anti-Regulation Abyss also referred to as the crash of 2007.  So, here is what I am looking for.    

I need people, such as yourself, who either: have information regarding the subject(s) listed below; and/or who have experienced a similar situation with AMSI or Bemis; and/or who have information regarding this or the issues listed below.  Thus, if you are is need of help dealing with one of the issues listed below and/or if you have any knowledge or information regarding any one or combination of them, please contact me at kdhughes@hughescione.com or 714-834-1364.    

Issues: If AMSI obtained a default judgment against you but, you were never notified they filed a law suit;
           If the amount AMSI claims you owe them is twice or more than twice the amount you owed;
           Has AMSI engaged in any wrongful behavior (other than calling, verbally harassing) for example
           falsely claiming they sent you notice, you owe a debt that is not yours, threatening you with criminal
           charges or jail.  Has anyone from their AMSI claimed to be associated with the attorney general's
           office or some other governmental and/or enforcement agency;
           Has anyone from AMSI improperly disclosed your private information, e.g., told your boss that you
           are delinquent on your account, a deadbeat, etc.

These are all the obvious issues I am concerned about but, if there is something I forgot, please feel free to send me an email.  I want to be very clear though, to date, I have not obtained any proof of any wrongdoing by attorney Bemis or by AMSI.  I had a gut feeling that I would find discussions such as the one you posted.  Thus, this inquiry is being made in the hope that you and others, people who only discovered after a judgment was obtained, that AMSI had filed a law suit against them but, never serving any notice of it to you need to contact me.  If this is a widespread pattern as I am concerned it may be, all of us, you, me and others who they may have done this to, must stand up and say something!  This kind of thing has to be stopped!  But, that cannot happen unless all of you come forward.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and for standing up for your rights.  Without people willing to do just that, nothing in can change!

the office of gary bemis is also using phone number 877-535-7369....   a rookie collector Eric Zacarella fumbles and stumbles his way through demands. At first identified himself as an attorney in the Bemis Law firm in Anahiem, but then reluctantly confesses he's just a collector. After being told in detail the situation, Eric confirmed he will update the file his own way to fit his needs, and hangs up!
These types of debt collectors usually work on commission only and very low salary, if they don't hit their break to compensate for their salary they get very aggressive and reckless on the phone.

unfortunately,they harass people who owe nothing and do pay their bills... just blind calling potential suckers.

Sounds like some people should pay their bills by getting off chats and looking for jobs or actually returning the call and find out who is suing them. The last thing anyone needs is to find out that their wages are being garnish or their banks are being levied, btw in that instance its too late.

Law offices of gary bemis is a real collection agency. If you don't have any collections on you, they may just have the wrong number. It happens.

You have nothing to gain by calling if it's not you. It's not as if you are likely to have the information that we're looking for. Don't bother calling back. They'll get the hint and move on.

Does anyone have a direct # or e-mail for Gary Beamis himself. Had a sub-contractor screw up a job, send my bill to them for collection and while I was working on a settlement (made an offer to split the bill) with a very nice collector from their office and was waiting for an response, another dept filed a Small Claims case. Before knowing about the case, I left several messages for the collector and while I was traveling, they filed the case and won a default judgment for 2.5 times the original amount, which was in dispute anyway. I found out about it whan some other guy in the other dept called and threatened the levy, wouldn't listen to what happened, etc.. I called the original collector who apologized to me and said he'd work it out with creditor and to call him back next day. Now when I do, the guy in the other dept who is threatening the levy keeps having my calls forwarded to him and has admitted to me he won't give the collector (he refers to him as "some clerk") my file and won't let me talk to the collector or to his boss, Gary Beamis. Very frustrating. Very bad faith and bad business practice. Any help with contact info or strategy would be most appreciated?

Just got a call from this person asking for Amy Wolfe.  I told him he had wrong number since I have had this number for over five years and he was trying to verify it as I hung up.  If you read the blog collector.  Sorry i hung up but a little busy.  Hope you find whoever it is but do not call me no more

They called my work placed and harassed my manager.  WTF.  I look like a jerk now at work.

I have recieved numerous calls, both at home and at work. My employer is really cool though, however theyre tired of it too. My GM said next time they call, hes going to tell them I was fired because of them. HAHA! I have also got them on violations of the Consumer rights act and am taking them to small claims court. I have told these dumasses many times that I am not the person they are targeting. They continue to harrass me. They stupidity here is that they are wasting their time harrassing me instead oc collecting from the person with the debt. What idiots.

A collection agency will adjust working hours to call you when you are home FDCPA states they can call 8am-9pm.....not all businesses run 8am-5pm Mon.-Fri.....Im sure they work on weekends as well in case you dont answer your phone during the week.....If a file is in a collection office they are able to do a full asset investigation, pull credit report, and the process of serving someone at work will be investigated by calling his/her job and speaking to HR dept. or Manager to best suit the needs of the his/her work to not disrupt company daily processes...Also an attorneys office my have more than one office that represents the attorney..BTW if they are trying to find out how to serve you, sounds like you need to start paying them and stop worrying about getting comforted by bloging and reading how other dead beats think this is all illegal......P.S. I got the same call from Stephanie Miller as well asking to speak to my supervisor on how to be served. This is a form of creditor harassment. They hunt you down via co-workers requesting that they call you back ASAP.Isn't this illegal?

i just got a call from the GM at my work to tell me a Stephanie Miller just called and asked how i could be served at work??? What the hell< Seems funny that someone with a law office has to ask "how to serve someone"

It's a scare tactic they use to try to get you to call them.

I have also recieved calls from this number, now more than ever. They call twice sometimes three times a day. Very annoying.

I am as straight as an arrow. I have never done anyone wrong and for the most part (probably) have about two speeding tickets in my life.

I received a call from 1-877-867-2013 and when I call back I get a recording giving me instructions on how to use quick collect. and in the message it tells me that I have reached them after hours and it is 9:15 am. What kind or hours do they run.
