It's amazing how the same "disappointed employee" keeps posting notes on here. Frist of all, consumers can look up how many years this company has been in business and is a legitimate business per the Better Business Bureau. Because there is one irate employee who was there for a week doesn't mean the other 300 employees aren't happy.

That's the beauty of the internet these days, Joe Blow down the street can say your company is a scam, then that means it's a scam? Even competitors of companies can post scam notes, so do your research from credible resources instead of from "disappointed employee."

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!!!!! I REPEAT THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!!! DO NOT give your information to this company. I worked there for a week and it was dreadful. Apparently they call people promising to lower their interest rates by negotiationing with your lenders. Once they get all of your credit card information, they never call and speak with a representative they call and enter all the prompts as if they were you to obtain everything about your financial situation. Then they tell the reps to tell the customers that they will never have to send a money order or check, that rights because they charge your credit card a high amount. It is run by a woman name Teresa Broughton and an Asian lady name Ming and the Asian girl sells snacks from her desk. They play loud obnoxious music while the reps are on the phone. It's very unprofessional!!!!

They are scammers.  The Federal Trade Commission has a website http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt178.shtm  regarding companies like this.  Beware!  When I started questioning them, I got a rep screaming at me on the phone, telling me how stupid I was. Quite unprofessional.

Have received several calls from First Financial Services 1-877-867-5218.  I work remotely so I need to answer all of my phone calls.  They start out saying they know my total debt and can reduce my interest rate and are working with the federal government.  Then they start asking for the last 4 digits of my ss #, cc # of my highest debt credit card, expiration date & the phone # on the back of my card.  One of the phone calls, I insisted on being removed from their calling list and ended up with a rep screaming at me.  I have received 3 more phone calls since then.  Today's phone call was from Candy Campbell and I told her this was a scam.  She swore it was legit and that she wouldn't go to jail for anyone. They are extremely persistent even after I have accused them of being scammers.  I just want them to quit calling me!

Thanks for these posts and for the links to Federal Trade Comm warning. I got a call from Toni Lester 877 867 5218, First Financial Wellness, same promises as above. Supposedly they sent a letter but I probably threw it out. She said they could reduce any interest rates currently over 12% as long as my debt ratio qualified, and I wasn't maxed out on my cards, that I wouldn't have to pay them, they get their money from the reduced interest. DUH.. am I supposed to believe the CC banks pay THEM on my behalf? She said if my cards were closed to being maxed out (which of course they are, because all of the CC's have slashed credit limits,) they could still help but I would have to pay a fee upfront. But first they had to verify I still qualify and wanted information. If I didn't do it right then on the phone - not knowing a thing about them-  they would have to notify the credit bureau I declined and I couldn't qualify for a year. Couldn't understand why I felt the need to research them first before giving out information. I said I would have to check my CC balances to see what my debt ratio is and then it was OK to put my offer on "HOLD." I started Googling and found this site among other complaints. The website I was given is www.firstfinancialwellness.com, she told me how to bypass the login, the site also says First Financial Assets Services with phone #866 862 0803. 10290 US Hwy 19 suite 420 Port Richey FL 34668.   Needless to say I will not be calling back!

Just received a call from Amanda Davis saying she was from First Financial Services in Marietta, GA and could reduce my credit card interest rates that were over 12%. I checked for the company on BBB, but couldn't find a rating on them. She said the Credit Bureaus had sent my information to them, but when she asked for my Credit Card Number, I told her I didn't give out those numbers over the phone. She got a supervisor on the phone who told me I was totally protected from fraudulent charges by federal law, blah, blah, blah. I told her no and hung up. Now that I've seen these posts on the internet, I'm glad I didn't give them any info.

Not confusing at all. Your issuer limits "fraud" to unauthorized charges. By this definition, if you were scammed by and gave your CC to good ol' Ponzi himself, it's not fraud! Avoids having to spend money on investigations. Customers get their money back and that's what most of them want anyway. What you can do (if you wish to pursue it and many won't) is to complain to the issuer's regulator.

My credit card company would not file it as a fraudulent claim because I had initially approved the charge.  However, they did refund the money and said that they would get the money back from First Financial, who had 60 days to file a dispute.  Good luck.  By the way, you might try filing a complaint w/ the Better Business Bureau of Florida, they might be able to get somewhere.

I too, would like to think that I'm a fairly smart person and yet due to a hard sell and an iron clad 100% money back guarantee I gave First Financial Wellness almost $800 of my hard earned money.  I was also skeptical about their claims and refused to give any passwords or mothers' maiden names for myself or my spouse but was told that they could still negotiate on my behalf without that information. Just to be safe, I called my credit card company and they notated that I had called about the charge.  They also told me that the charge was posted as a consulting, management & publication fee???  After 2 months of making several calls to First Financial Wellness and being told that my case was still in negotiation and that I would be called back (which of course never happened), I finally called and asked for a refund.  After being tossed around like a baseball between customer service and fulfillment several times, I finally got the pleasure of talking to a raging b***ch named Gina who told me flat out that I had a "no cancel agreement" (wha?) and that I would not be receiving any refund.  She said that I could talk to their lawyers if I had a problem w/ that.  First I started a complaint process through the Better Business Bureau in Florida and then I called my credit card company and filed a dispute.  They said that I could not file it as a fraudulent claim because I had authorized the charge.  They refunded the fee and said that they would get the money back from First Financial Wellness who would, in turn, have 60 days to dispute my dispute.  Confused much?  Wish me luck & remember what your mama told you was true....if it sounds too good to be true, etc., etc.

This is a well-known scam that your CC issuer is familiar with. Tell them the whole story of how you were called, what was promised, etc. Tell them you've talked to the scammer and they won't return your money (this shows you've given the scammer a chance to refund and they won't) so you want your money back and your card replaced to prevent other criminals from charging to it. Your issuer has the power to claw money back from the charging party within 60 days of charge date, more difficult after 60 days. If you've auto-debits on this credit card, remember to switch auto-debits onto the new card.

Contact your bank, file a fraud complaint and demand your money back. Do not "dispute" the charge or your issuer will tell you to work it out with the scammer. "Disputes" are for billing errors, this is a scam.

I am a smart individual and I gave First Financial Services $995.  I should know better.  After I made the transaction, I started researching the internet for more information.  There are too  many things that don't "feel" just right about this company.  I did get the packet, but I have decided not to provide the information they want.  They wanted me to send them too much sensitive information through the mail in a plain envelope. I tried to get the $995 back, but was turned down.  I guess I will just have to live with the idea that I made a really stupid mistake.  If this is not a scam, it sure looks like it.  I read some things on the Federal Trade Commission site that scared me from going any further.  Please don't do this until you research it first.

No 3rd party can *promise* they can reduce your CC interest rate. They can at best *ask* your CC company on your behalf to lower your rate and you can do this yourself for free. Any 3rd party that promises is a scam even though they claim they'll refund your money. If your issuer won't agree to lower if you ask, I assure you they won't either for any 3rd party who does. The recent trend for CC issuers has been to *raise* CC rates (lots of complaints on the net of indiscriminate increases for customers who were current on payments), why would any issuer agree to lower your rate just because some 3rd party asks on your behalf? Since they offer to refund if your rate isn't reduced, why not simply charge your CC *after* your rate's been reduced? Makes no sense, does it? Please read the Federal Trade Commission's warning here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt178.shtm and file a complaint if you think you've been scammed.

I got multiple calls from First Financial Asset Services. Caller ID says "406-948-8531 Glendive MT".  I talked to "Tracy Smith" who had details from my credit report and wanted to help me lower my interest rate. I interrupted and told her to take me off her list and stop calling. She asked why and I told her I thought it was a scam. She assured me it wasn't a d directed me to their website (www.firstfinancialwellness.com) and encouraged me to check them out on the BBB website and then call her back at 877-867-5218. She admitted they had a "B" rating and added that the location to look for was Marietta, GA.

Well, I took her up on the offer and found "First Financial Services & Auto Sales" as the only "First Financial  Services" listing in Marietta GA.  So I searched on "First Financial Asset Services" and found one in Port Richey, FL with no BBB rating and 19 complaints in the past 36 months. It listed the website that I had been given so this seems to be the right company. All complaints have been resolved to BBB's satisfaction, but not all customers were satisfied.

After reading the series of posts, I'm convinced that their "business model" is to bill the client up front, mail them a "self-help" packet of info and move on to other new "clients". If any (a few) complain or escalate to BBB, then they refund the fee.

They incorporated in FL in August 2009 and their other website listed on the BBB citation (www.firstfinancialassetservices.com) is no longer active, which reinforces my view that they are a "fly-by-night" outfit. So beware.

FYI, here is the link to the BBB listing:
http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... hey-fl-90075841

They also seem to be related to Suncoast Financial Services in Hudson, FL (same Hank T Waters listed as a contact) which was formed in July, 2010. See info here:
http://www.lookupbook.com/directory/banking-a ... -consulting-inc

Also, check out the string of posts regarding 866-682-0803 (same outfit, different number).

PS..."DHARRIS" appears to be doing "damage control" for them on all these postings strings

I received a call with this same callback #. "Amanda" said she was from First Financial Services and could lower all my credit card interest to 6%!  When I gave her a credit card # of a closed account, she then asked for another card # which in turn I refused.  She gave a good shpeal however the old saying kicked in, "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
