An hour after it's restored!?! Must be nice. Every time I sign up for the auto call back, it comes 1-2 days after. This time, for example, Comcast went out late Friday around noon & was restored around 3 or 4 pm that day. The automated call came Sunday @ 2 pm.

Automated call-back from Comcast when service is restored. I use the term "when" VERY lightly. Our area's internet was out Saturday morning. Service was restored either late that same morning or early afternoon. The automated call ... came Monday morning.
Gee, thanks, Comcast. That was helpful.

Received three calls in a row on cell from Comcast to advise me my service was restored?Ummmm thanks Comcast, but you're three days late. :\

It is comcast, the biggest thing that's messed up was i asked for that 2 days ago and the internet was restored a day and a half ago. SO stupid

This is an automated call from Comcast saying that the outage in your area is over. Don't bother signing up for it because they will call you 24 hours after the the outage is over and long after you've already been on the net.
Kimberly 2011-06-06 21:04:54 Unknown
It's Comcast's automated callback when your cable is restored (if you requested a callback when a cable outage was cleared). In my case, the callback came 48 hours AFTER service was restored, but at least they called.

Yes, Comcast telling me my service was restored over 24 hours after the fact. Jerks.

Yes,
As I finially found out here, it ws Comcast calling two days after service was restored...silly. Not only that but it attemtped to call 3 times and on the third attempt, the only message it left is the very end of the robo call which was "we appreciate your business". If it wasn't for this website, I'd have no idea if was even a ligitimate call or not. Someone doesn't have their act together!

Same happened to me that appears to have happened to others - called to report internet outage on Sunday at 10:30 pm, it was back on within about an hour but I just got a call from them at 9am on Wednesday. The message that was left was a partially cut off message "If you are having problems, please call 877-870-4309" Weird that an automated call can't be done in a more timely manner.

Service went out on Sunday, was back on by noon. Comcast. finally called Tuesday noon to tell me it was restored. Useless.

Received partial message: "If you are having problems please call. We appreciate your business."
2 days after Comcast internet service went our for a few hours then restored. Chattanooga, TN
If any company name given in the robo message it was lost before voice mail started to record.
The robo call could pick up more minor problems after the major service is restored. A little better than being ignored.

Worthless COMCAST. They called 2 days after the fact to let me know service was restored. They are the worst.
Herm 2010-07-26 23:26:50 Unknown
2 missed calls from "UNAVAILABLE". If this is a legit call then why can they not identify themselves on the caller ID? Stupid. No message left.

It would be nice if they called within a reasonable period of time after service is restored. Service went out in our area on Thursday morning for less than an hour and they are just calling me now (on Saturday) to let me know it has been restored....more than 2 days after the service was restored. It may be a legit call but I'd forgotten all about requesting the "back to service" call. Not what I call good customer service.

My Comcast business line went down at 3am Thursday. I requested the auto call back to be notified when the system was restored. System came back up around 8am same day. I got the call from Comcast from this number at 9 am Saturday morning. Yeah...OK then.

Nice of Comcast to call more than 2 days after my cable and internet were restored. Wanted them to call because I turned off my tv to avoid the frozen screen that occured burn into my tv. They just called and everything has been working since Sunday.

Comcast calling to say service has been restored. A few days after it was restored, but nonetheless.....

This is also correct. I had an outage the other evening. Came home about 230am and had nothing. It was a planned outage for a fiber splice which was completed about 3 am. Call came in to my house at 9 am stating service were restored.
Chris 2009-10-07 19:59:12 Unknown
The call is automated once the outage has been cleared in the LMC. The tech working the outage sometimes may have multiple repairs to make to bring an area back up on line. Services may pop back on street by street. Once all the repairs have been made, the tech will call in and clear the outage. The LMC will clear the outage in its tools which will then prompt the calls to begin.

My Comcast triple play was out for over 18 hours due to a power outage caused by a storm in our area. When it finally came back on, I had TV and phone, but no internet which finally came back on Monday afternoon. I got the call saying that service was restored at 9:30 Tuesday morning. I knew that already, but better late than never.

This is Comcast's notification that service is back in your area. The reason you don't receive a callback immediately after service is restored is so you don't get calls at weird hours; my service came back at 2 AM last night, so thankfully I did not receive a call until 9 AM this morning.

I think the reason they tell you they will call you when the service is restored is..because sometimes your cable and or internet might have to be reset in order to work again and you might think your service is still out when actually it started working an hour ago but your BOX needs a "RESET" to work.. It has happened to me.. :)but actually today my service was OUT for 6 hours! And I kept waiting for it to work and I kept thinking maybe it does work and I just needed a reset but NOOO it was out for 6 hours and the TV did come back on and scared me to death! I did need to reset my internet tho:( funny thing is, I didn't get the "CALL" saying it worked for an hour after it was already on!!

OK this is legit. Comcast cable (tv and internet) went completely out in our area. I called Comcast to report the outage. When reporting a loss of service, any caller may press a button to receive an automated call-back -- indicating service has been restored. (I guess some people need more notice than to hear the TV suddenly start blasting noise rofl.) The callback I received when service was restored came from this number.
