Well said, every time someone says they want to be removed from "the list" i do so. Heck, i've even left messages/emails from people who clearly answer then hang up and tell them, "next time you get a call from us don't hang up, just tell us to put you on our do not call list"

This is the Art Institutes calling. IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT let them fool you.

They're an open enrollment scam only after government money. They will take ANYONE.

You will end up in debt for over $100,000 and no way to pay.

Their programs are IMPULSE-based.

They lure in anyone they can to get the government money.

Art Institutes run by EDMC (all of them that use the
AI logo), are not an art school employers take seriously. They're open enrollment, they take ANYONE.
They just want the financial aid from the government that you are
entitled to. The government is now suing them for 11 Billion Dollars which could wipe them off the map easily. They also got hit with ANOTHER lawsuit claiming the same thing!

If you ask me, they're an elaborate corporate scam to funnel as many
Government Pell grants and guaranteed loans out of students as they
can and leave the students with the bill.

They're like McDonald's of Art "Colleges". They're a chain that is
popping up everywhere. They buy out dying schools, rename them, keep
the accreditation. They create programs designed for impulse buyers and quick hits aka uninformed students.

They may seem like they would be good, but it is all smoke and
mirrors. Pretty building with pretty computers. Meanwhile, it will
just ruin your life.

The market demand they say they're meeting is not the demand of the
Job market, its the demand of the students. Students that graduated AI
are struggling to get jobs and have over more than $50,000+ or
$90,000+ in debt depending on what degree they went for. Degrees that
are worthless in the job market.

Basically, AI is a degree mill, a total debt factory. They use bloated success stats and
circle logic to back them up.

They count students working at Toys R Us as in the field. Avoid them
if you want to actually have a decent future.

If you really want to pursue your passion, go to a community college,
study fine art, and then transfer into a state school. It will be
cheaper and the money you save you can buy your own equipment and
STILL have money left over for a better future.

Their job leads are bogus, they go to Monster, Craigslist, and career
builder just like everyone else. Their top employer is HOME DEPOT
(Check their own website) and I guarantee none of those are art jobs.

Don't make the same mistake my friends and I did. We'll be paying for
it for the rest of our lives.

If you go with AI you'll be folding clothes at Target or hawking video
games at Toys R Us for $8.25 an hour and struggling to pay $90,000+
with bill collectors haunting your every waking moment for the REST OF
YOUR LIFE with no way to stop them because there is no bankruptcy
protection on Student loans.
Please please please make sure you check out these news articles
below. Many are accounts from students, staff, and teachers of AI.
Feel free to check YELP ("Filtered results" as well.)

What you do with this information is your choice, I just want to make
sure you know everything before listening to one of their recruiters
sales pitch. Remember, they're paid sales people. Not your friend.
College may be expensive but what these guys are pulling is straight
out highway robbery.

Below is a few news articles about different AI's around the country. They're all pulling the same thing.
Its EDMC's business model.

You will NOT make enough to back the loans. They know this. They just want the government money they can pull in your name.
Decide for yourself.

I work for AiP Online & have had family go to the ground campus / graduate & know many who are students for online as well... I am also a student for AiP Online as well.
If you are searching for colleges & put your name & number ANYWHERE to randomly search for colleges or college information.. you may have numerous schools contacting you by phone &/or email.
Sadly, the only thing you can do is answer each call & just be upfront about it. When you are polite but firm... you will have your information removed. I've experienced this myself a few years back when I was job hunting. I received several calls from a few schools. I explained to each my situation & it was an honest mistake. Didn't get a call back from any of them after that.
For those of you who say you did this & AiPO has called you ever since isn't accurate. It may not be AiPO that's calling you... you may have several schools attempting to contact you.
If you really don't want to research schools nor have interest in attending any college -- READ BEFORE you submit ANY information ANYWHERE.
That one bit alone will save you frustration with your phone being blown up in the first place.

My mother in law used my phone once to talk to these people now they won't stop calling. I told them 3 times that I did not want them to call me and finally I was so fed up I told them I was logging their call times and submitting it to the Governments Do-not- call list officials !! It worked! I haven't received another call from them in over a month!

I hate to be nasty but they are so desperate to get you to join there collage I was just fed up.

people need to stop being lazy and just go to a community collage like the rest of the world

I work there and I'm sorry about people that don't remove your information as you might ask.  I always do that for people as I would hate to be on the other end.  The fact of the matter is that there are bad people in every position of every workplace.  Best thing you can do, in my opinion, is keep picking up until you get the person who actually cares about other people.  I didn't take this job to solicit, I took it to help people who didn't think they would ever have the chance to get their education.  Some people took it for the wrong reasons, but that's all changing anyway with new laws.

Short of it...pick up, try to keep your cool, don't overgeneralize on the internet, and a good person will help you out eventually.

Take that or leave it.

You took this job to help yourself and take advantage of people who wanted help and didn't realize they were signing up for "call me relentlessly until I give in". You should be ashamed of yourself. The ftc is currently cracking down on crooked operations like yours. The BEST thing your VICTIMS can do is file complaints with the ftc, and when they get one of you subhumans on the phone, to blast your useless ears with a loud whistle or airhorn. BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT.

The WORST thing your VICTIMS can do is keep answering the relentless calls like sheep being herded into the fleecing barn.

If you don't like it, try making an honest living. I doubt you're qualified for honest work though. You're a pretty good liar, so I guess you're in the ideal line of work for your dubious "skills".

Whoa, hahaha.  Holy crap with that ridiculous response.  Your assumption is understandable considering the reputation of the industry, but like I said, an overgeneralization. Not to mention more than a little childish.  Perhaps you got burned in the past by an online school...I hope so because that would justify your internet rage a bit more.

Lol, side note...there's an ad for Full Sail University on the side of this page.

I definitely encourage people to call the ftc on bad people as well.  The problem is those complaints don't have weight if they aren't breaking any laws (i.e. calling at ridiculous times, refusing to remove your files, etc.).  Ask for names when you ask to be removed from a list.  Maybe that way if they don't comply you have someone to go after, and perhaps it will hold their feet to the fire...if they don't lie, I guess.

The way you replied, actually, with your fantastic all caps work and low blows against a well-meaning stranger, makes me wonder about your intentions.  You're either a hyperactive law student, a competitor in the industry, an actual victim of bad business, or it was 3am and World of Warcraft wasn't up and running for you.

I can't hold you responsible for not knowing this, but the industry is changing, and I'm glad.  School representatives will soon no longer have any monetary incentives based on student numbers AT ALL.  This is within the next few months.  I'm a brand new employee, and I'm happy to have come into this industry so late, at a time where it is weeding out the ill-intentioned "subhuman" as you call it.

As for me, this post-college job is my stepping stone into my masters for non-profit administration and relations.  I wan't to work on an administrative level with rehibilitating summer camps and outdoor experiences for children and teens like I did throughout school.  So I guess this job DOES help ME in the way that it lets me eat and have shelter while I pursue those things.  And although I'm not lying, I DID get a BA in Theatre so I suppose I do have a pretty dubious skill.  I've also tried to incorporate into my writing what I've learned from you about full-word capitalization.

So...nice try spaz.

Like I said.  Pick up, ask for their name, or better still ask to talk to their supervisor, ask for his name, ask to be removed from their list permanently...if you get more calls you've got fuel for your fight and two names to drop.  Give 'em hell.  But try and remember there are good and bad people everywhere.

I agree. I also work for the Art Institute Online.  Continue to pick up and continue to ask for your number to be removed.  There is no "do not call list" so ask to have your number removed.  I can tell you that being calm is the best way to get it removed.
Many a time there are situations when the first time a person might talk to you is the 20th time you've received a call from the Art Institute so don't blame the caller, they don't know.  Just ask for the number to be removed, there are a bunch of us that DO remove numbers when asked. But yelling is NEVER going to get you anywhere.
Also, if you NEVER requested information there is a DEFINITE possibility that if you're getting calls for someone who isn't you, than that means when people ARE asking for information, they're putting in bogus information, so it's not the Art Institute cold calling, someone genuinely put in your number whether you know it or not.
Trust me, from the majority of us, we GENUINELY DO NOT want to harass you. Just calmly let us know and we are HAPPY to remove your number.  We too have been harassed 1-800 numbers and we know what it's like.  Plus, it just wastes time calling people who aren't interested in education.
Good luck!

Its really simple people. If they are callign you and you want them to stop...pick up the effing phone and tell them to take them off of your list instead of ignoring the call and praying that they wont call tomorrow when you know they will. Its very, very, very easy. You can even keep the person on the phone until you are certain that they have pulled up your record and done so.
