Many people mention CRC as a debt collector. Search leads to http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-reviews/co ... wrence-ma-56897 then to http://www.bbb.org/central-california/busines ... nga-ca-13035051 another similar but with BPO services. I had a call today from the same people. I called the number back and asked where I was calling and was told they were a private mail recovery service, that recovers returned or lost mail. It sounded very odd to me. She asked if I had a tracking number and I gave it to her as one was left on my message. When I again asked what it was she told me to wait on the line while she looked it up. I hung up. Saying they are a private mail recovery service is skating a thin line of honesty I would think.

its a collection company. They give you a so called tracking number but that is really a file number. They get you on the phone asking why mail that is registered is being sent back. You think it is important mail but its all a ploy for you to call them back.

Seems like these people buy up old ancient allegedly unpaid debt at pennies on the $ and then try bullying intimidating harassing tactics. Don't call them back or answer their calls. The alleged debts they try to collect can be 10-20 years old and way past any statute of limitations.

Basically don't give them a chance to reinstate an uncllectible debt, good or bad.

And above all, don't sign for any registered or express mail from them.

They know they can't collect but try every deceitful tactic to trick people.

Be careful!

Just got this call from "Kailyn" about a priority mail.  called it back form my cell (which is blocked) out of curiousity after reading this post.. It now actually says please have your tracking number ready and one of our agents will assist you... To me this really seems like entrapment.. posing as a company that they are not! I have an account with CRS that I am making monthly payments on and yet they STILL keep bugging me! :(  Trying to get this cleared up and they still keep harassing me :(

Some named Amanda called my office on May 30 at 11:52.  Said they had a Priority One package in their office in my name and to quote my tracking number when I called back.  I'm on the phone with them now..on hold..while they check the tracking number.  Was put through to "Mail Room" and asked what the mail room was for.  She said it was for lost or returned mail.  A different gal just came on the line and asked if this was Connie.  Yes.  She said the mail was from One Harper Heights, Port Elgin, and did I ever live there?  "No."  After a short hesitation, she said perhaps they'd contacted the wrong Connie.  I said "Yes."  As I started to hang up, she wanted to know my phone number so they'd be sure to "remove it from the list" and not call me back again.  I said, "No that's OK--I'll remember" and hung up.  No mention of what type of mail it was or anything related to debt.
Not who they were looking for at all.

They've left four messages during the day, tracking number and everything, They don't seem to be open even during their business hours listed.  I tried calling to remove myself from their list. I've never been in debt, I just want to be left alone by them.  What a waste of everyone's time.

I can confirm this 1-877-881-8088 is a scam. It's Contact Resource Services. My buddy got a call from them this morning. They left a message identifying themselves as 'Priority One Mail' (or something to that effect) and gave a tracking number. We both got suspicious since he had not received a notice from Canada Post or any other mail delivery company and Priority One Mail sounded distinctly unfamiliar. For a lark he phoned the number while I listened in on the other line. It was an obvious fraud from the get go. My buddy gave his 'tracking number' to the person who answered, that got him transferred to a some guy who asked for the tracking number. Instead of giving the tracking number my buddy put the heat on him and asked who he was and who the company was. He stuttered and didn't really answer. He just said it was the 'mail department'. "Mail department of who? Whose mail department?" my buddy asked. The guy hesitated and transferred my buddy to someone else at which point my buddy hung up. An obvious collection company fraud, but good for a laugh

I got a call looking for a person with my last name but a different first name.
I called (stupidly ) gave my 'tracking number' then got put through to the mail room. I didn't give my first name, but did give my home number when asked, stupidly, figuring since they left the message at my home number they already knew it.
I should have typed in thsi number to Google before I called back!
They are very carefull not to actuall y identify themselves as Canada Post while still acting as such

Same scam. Mail suppose to for me ready for forwarding. Just call back 1-877-881-8088 and the ref# is T536437. I bet they need shipping money by credit card, or something similar. Scammers.

Do never call back, you will get more and more scam calls. They are "refining" their phone lists and target the gullible ones, or what they suspect to be ones.

God damn it. This thread was started in 2008 and it is now 2011 and these guys are still in full force with the same "priority one" b***s***! Does anybody have any idea how to report these guys or at least make them sweat a bit?

I was talking to this lady on the phone and i was giving her the 3rd degree. She kept feeding me blatant lies. "We are a company that deals with lost mail". I wonder how these people go to sleep at night.

Left a message on our voicemail today asking for "Amber" and the same last name as me.  My first name starts with an A, but is not Amber. It was Elena calling from Priority One Mail and she had a package in her office that was trying to be delivered.  Glad I checked here and didn't call back!

Just got a call... Let it go through to voice mail as i did not recognize the number. This is the 2nd time they've called. The woman was hard to understand, so i think she got my name right, but can't be sure. But as far as i know, i have no recent debt (nothing within the last 6 years anyway)  and my credit is good ( i have old student loans from over 20 years ago, but they are long disappeared). They almost got me with the 'priority one' gambit, but i did a search for 'priority one' and this site popped up! So thank you!!
Even though i have no debt , i won't be calling back!

They called me this morning at 8:55am (not even supposed to call before 9am) so right there I knew it was fishy and did not answer.

Left message on my voice mail (was looking for someone that had my exact last name -but that person does not live here). Said she was ADALIA, calling regarding a cheque???...postal something???...(was talking too fast) and asked me to call them back at 905-855-8088, and that my cheque number was T363042. Never mentionned her company. SCAM SCAM SCAM! I have a feeling they are calling everyone with your same last name to make it more real in order to suck you in.

DON'T CALL THEM BACK -they will see your name and phone number if you have call display -that's what they want.

My mom gets calls from this unscrouplous angency all the time. Saying she owes money on some fictional credit card that she has never own. Recently they started calling my aunt telling her they would forclose her house. A house that was built by my grandfather in the early 20's on his land. I encourge any who have been herassed by CRS collections to put their foot down and report these guys to the BBB (Better Buisness Bureau)

I was also called from 1 8778818088. I don't remember the guy's name but he said he had a package for me and gave me a "tracking number" I went to the post site and looked it up but the tracking number was wrong since it was supposed to a 13 digits number ... so I called back from another phone at night and the answer machine actually asked me to leave my information! I almost left a message! I decided to look up the phone number on google and well I ended up in this awesome site! Thank goodness you all posted your stories related to this... I just have a few questions... Is this really a collection agency? I don't owe anything as far as I know.. and what other purpose do they have? Thank you guys!!

They called my cousins living in a province I haven't lived in for three years.  Usually they all have their calls monitored - meaning recorded.  It has worked in the past for me just to mention I am being harassed and that pretty much ends the phone call.
Once I lead a guy on for about forty minutes having him explain the credit profile breakdowns only to politely excuse myself from the telephone conversation and hang up.
The job of collection agent is reserved for the lowest, most unscrupulous of individuals.  When I defaulted on stuff when I was younger I still refused to pay the collection agency - still just paid the company I owed.
