Received a phone call from a process server under the name of Michelle Williams.  Relatives and family members were contacted that I would be served papers and go to jail.  I had recently changed my phone number, and by accident picked up the phone from an out of area caller on my caller ID.  I asked how she got my new phone # she diverted the question and said that I it had something to do with fraud and that I would need to call 877-537-2708 and gave me a Case# or she would have law enforcement and herself serving me papers.

This has been going on for around 6 months.  They will also manipulate the phone server to get through on blocked numbers through a VOIP system.  Actually, had to contact technical support of my previous phone company to block them from the server!!  They need to be prosecuted!  They harass not only you but your family members as well.  I have contacted my local financial institution for the State and DA in the area where they were supposedly calling from.  Both indicated that these were scams, and they are difficult to find or prosecute.

The message from NCS on my phone said to call 855-256-2131, which I did.  I requested a physical mailing address so I could request written verification of my "debt".  The address they gave me was Nationwide Credit Solutions PO Box 41213 Buffalo NY 14221.  I am sending a cease and desist letter to them with a copy to my state's Attorney General, New York's Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

Today  I received a call from a Mrs. Smith which it one of the common names that they use. She stated how she went to my residence and that I was not available. Now mind you my fiance works nights so he is home during the day and when I asked him did someone come to the house he said no!! Now she is threatning with local authorities and coming to my place of employment to serve papers. This harassment needs to stop. I will be reporting them to I reccomend sending cease and decist in writing ang filing a complaint with FTC at www.ftc.gov very easy.  The FBI has information regarding this scam on their Internet Fraud page and you can file a complaint there as well, http://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/e-scams.

I got a call from these people today.... they left a message on my roomates home phone and were very rude and even said good luck with your case. Someone whos professional would not say something like that.... but what was creepy was when i called them they knew where i lived 4 years ago and granted you can find that kind of stuff online but still. They said i was going to get summoned then supposedly " called" the lawyer on the phone to try and set up payments so i wouldnt get court summons. I really wish this stuff would stop. I have debt that i know needs to be paid but people should also know that credit card debt does not get sent to court. The peoples names were Kenneth Love and Miss Long.

Caller from a private/unknown number said her name was Michelle Williams and that she is with NCS, after I repeatedly asked her.  She said she is a private process server and that I could call 877-886-4254 for more information.  She gave me a case# and said she has a summons for me from a financial institution for a fraudulent check.  I don't write very many checks, and certainly not bad ones.  When I asked her to send me the information, she said she doesn't do anything by mail, but I could call the number for more information because she couldn't give me the name of the original company or any other details.  This unknown number calls me repeatedly on a daily basis and I usually don't answer.  No way to trace it since not visible to caller ID, so how can I send a cease and desist?  I have since looked around online after reading prior posts in this forum, and am about ready to change my phone number so this will stop.  Apparently they have called my relatives as well, however the calls stopped to one after that phone number was changed.  We should not have to do that!

I have filed a complaint against this "so called" company.  They have called my work, home, and relatives.  They say the same stuff about serving papers but need an address, call the attorneys and give them a card # so you can prevent going to court.  I called and asked for an address and they refuse to give one.  They are very vague in their information and refuse to tell me what this serious matter pertains to.  They are breaking so many laws it is ridiculous.  The more people that file a complaint against them the better.  I was able to get a name out of them.  She said the NCS stands for Nationwide Credit Solutions.  Their phone number doesn't match the one I called which is:  877-886-4254.

They use the name NCS and ACS. I downloaded the Cease and Desist (my call was from ACS). threatened to come over and take me to jail if I didn't pay $600 on a debt that I don't even owe. They are the scum of the earth running a scam to swindle people out of of hard earned money. Most of these debts are not owed, and if they are you wouldn't owe these people a dime. They will not discuss their company, where they got the info, their address. They say they don't have a fax number (or the fax is broke) and they don't have a web address (or it's private info). The FBI has information regarding this scam on their Internet Fraud page and you can file a complaint there as well, http://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/e-scams

I filed a complaint and already received confirmation that the complaint has been processed and received a case number and password to check the status. Please do this if you already haven't.

Here is some information that may help you:

* They call from various 877, 866, 800 numbers and U.S numbers in various states. Sometimes the number will come in as 000-000-0000.
* They may or may not have a middle eastern accent. They recently caught on that people weren't buying that someone named John Smith has a middle eastern accent, so they do have American accented people doing this now.
* They will use phrases such as: Breach of contract, fraud, defrauding a financial institution, Internet fraud, payday loan fraud, etc.
* They will threaten that you will receive one or all of the following: court summons, failure to appear, email from the company, etc.
* They will threaten you with: jail time, losing your job, notifying your employer/family or both, coming to your house at night, physically hurting you and I have even found threads where the male callers have threatened females with coming over to rape them.
* They use very common last names such as: Cooper, Anderson, Smith, Taylor, Logan, etc. Usually common first names too.
* They will not give you any information about the company. They will tell you it's private information or that their fax is broken, etc.
* They will tell you that you can only pay with a credit, debit or prepaid card. They will not accept any other form of payment.
* They will tell you that you are a loser, immature, cuss at you, call you stupid, call you horrible names, etc.

This agency does not operate within the law. I work for a legitimate collections agency and if you tell them "CEASE and DECIST" per federal law FDCPA they are required to stop collections calls. Their representatives don't seem to think they are under the FDCPA, and they will threaten serving court summons or jail... This just will NOT happen. I reccomend filing complaint with Fair Trade Commission (FTC) for violation of FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act). Don't let them scare you!
