This number is from Van Ru Collection Agency, a collection agency that goes after people that owe money, especially to DEVRY University.

I got one call that fortunately went into voicemail, which was nearly unintelligible. Some man whose voice faded out into never, never land, and could not catch the company name, or much else.  I did, however, get the phone number, although the voice faded out again on the extension number. When I called the number [3 weeks later, after listening to my saved voicemails] all I got was some really peppy music that sounded like it was computerized, followed by a female voice asking me to leave all of my pertinent details, including my SSN! No mention of a company or anything else professional.  I hung up the phone immeditately, hoping that there trapping system was unable to capture my number. Since my computer was hacked in August 2011, and I am still dealing with all of the horrible problems that has caused, I am highly suspicious of anything out of the ordinary, which this was.

They have called my home numerous times, left no messages.  Cannot locate under any internet sites.  I tried to call them back and it rang and rang and no-one answered and there was not a machine to say who they were.  I think it is a scam.

It's a collection agency for school loans, especially DEVRY!

A call from VanRU Collection company.  Thank god I have an option to restrict calls on my phone because I used to get calls from them roughly every hour.  From 8AM till... f****ng late at night.  It doesn't even matter that I have already settled with the original debtor and that I'm currently making payments.  They like to call to harass me anyways.

This is Van Ru Credit Collections-they use the worst tactics to try to hunt down people who supposedly owe money.  If you share a similar name with someone who owes money, they will call and hassle you irregardless.  And, they will call you over and over again until you finally call them (they will pick up at this # sometimes if you call them from your home # where their caller ID recognizes you) and convince them you do not have the same social security # as the person they are looking for.

Someone called and left a message saying they were from "Barron Room"? or something that sounded like that.  They then told me they had something on my account from 1/26 and asked me to call them back at 877-891-8074 extension 4559.  I called this number but like other person, it just rang and rang with no answer.  Has to be a scam or a really bad business.
