An apology was expressed to "Rob". His post was mis-interpreted.
As to who "We" are "Robin", I will explain. We are a group of people who have banded together to do something about the shady debt collectors operating within the US. Our aim is to provoke them into exposing themslves. The firms with the intelligence and the resources to move their illegal practices over-seas have done so. This leaves them relatively safe from prosecution. The result has been that the fraudulent bogus debt collection agencies that are still operating in the US have been forced to become more aggressive. The practices they have been using for years to intimidate and threaten their victims are becoming less effective. This is due in great part to sites like this. People have become more knowledgable and far less gullible. The illegitimate collection firms are feeling this and it is driving them to desperation.
For the first time in their history large collection companies are finding themselves fighting for their lives in in Federal court. Class action suits are in progress on several more. The smaller firms are having to move and change their names so often that soon they'll have to be working out of Travel trailers.
Consumer Attys. are having a big impact on the collection industry. The "papers" that the tricky collector is so fond of mentioning are more and more being served; on him. A simple Public search will bear this out and we are proud of the fact that we've done our part. If you doubt the veracity of this "Robin", I invite you to do a search of court records in Maricopa Co. AZ, Hennepin Co. MN, Fulton & DeKalb Cos.GA and the list does, and will, go on.
To "Rob" we again apologize. Our "Personalities" are not infallible and occasionally get a bit overzealous. As a word in our defense I would like to mention that our eyes are currently on the ATL. area and that any word of shysters in that vacinity will bring out the worst (or best) in us.
To "Robin" we have this to say. If your thing is to imply "impotence" I would advise you to look more closely at yourself. I and my co-horts are doing what we can to stop the scourge of unlawful debt collection practices. Our efforts may be having little effect in the overall scheme of things, but we are doing what we can. If you'd like to consider these endeavors "impotent" or "dysfunctional", so be it. We all spend alot of time researching the net for "treatable" conditions. And then we get up and try to do something about them. Do you "Robin"?

To be totally fair, the end of Rob's comment could be read two ways:

"... serve me the papers.This sevice [sic] has made my day now"

1. "This process service I got ruined my day. Fooooo."
2. "The service provided by 800Notes rocks! Whoooo!"

I lean toward #2 and Not Mike's assessment. The overall comment lacks the usual handwringing and fearmongering of a criminal's shill post. No shame in front of the coworkers, no angry boss, no whining about an inflated charge, no rage at the crowd for "bad advice" .... not much more than a note of irritation, really.

It's fun to play "Gotcha", but first you need the "got" part confirmed.

Due to having been spared this bottom feeder's con until now, I can empathize with Rob's knee-jerk reaction of concern.  His gullibility does not morally devalue him.  Quite the opposite.  It only implies he is honest, thus has expectations that others are as well.  There was no provocation for this ill bred response you posted.  Whether this collective "we" is a reference to multiple personalities or not, only one person pressed "ENTER".  Rather than searching blogs for "fools", whereby exposing your struggle with impotency (emotionally/physically), your time would be better spent researching the Internet for medical and emotional aid for this common and very treatable dysfunction you have imposed on others.  Good luck and God bless you.

It sounds like you and Rob barely speak the same language.  As far as I can tell Rob needed 3 lawyers to protect his company in the first case.  To protect himself from Matt all he needed was this blog, and he is grateful for that.  Now if he could just learn to talk to us with fewer obscenities we'd all get along just fine.

If such is the case, our apologies. If you're implying that you needed 3 Lawyers to protect yourself fom "Matt", apologies retracted. We may have misinterpreted your post.

Thats not how I interpret Rob's post.  The way I read it, Rob was recently involved in a real unpleasant legal case.  That case is now resolved.  He got a call from Matt and was afraid it might be real, the beginnings of another unpleasant legal case.  He googled the number, landed here, and discovered Matt is a scammer.  He's thanking Julia and the posters for providing this site, keeping him from being scammed.

God we hate SHILLS! Don't you fools ever learn? Your B.S. posts only make you appear more ignorant and fraudulent than you probably even really are. Which, to be sure, is not easy to do.
"Rob" a word of advice. No one here is dim enough to believe that "Matt" is going to call ahead of time and be so kind as to tell you when he's going to drop by with some papers. It doesn't work that way and it never has. Everyone here knows that and all you're doing is certifying that you are a worthless piece of garbage.
Oh, and by the way "Rob". Why would "Matt" bother with you anyway? He must have cleaned you out during your first "ugly civil case". What's he gonna do? Put a Lien on your Crack pipe?

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Debt Collector
Got a call from 877-923-0858, from Matt , being sued lol again. Another payday loan scam. Every month its the same thing, just a different number. Wanting me to send $1,000 for it to go away. These scammers are EVERYWHERE! I dont think they can be stopped because they move around so much. They change their numbers often and change the box numbers often. I've tracked down 3 of them out of Atlanta, I even got as close as where he had rented a mail box through United Parcel Service. I can just imagine the money they've scammed out of people they have threatened and scared.  Lisa from New Castle IN
