They're war-dialers, aren't a real company, and do not inform you of who they are. File this one with FTC...and other routes.

This is a call from the Saratogian or Troy Record in NY State trying to get you to subscribe to their publications.

Troy Record soliciting newspaper sales. I told him that I didn't have a need for it, since I didn't have a pet.  He asked what the pet had to do with it.  I told him that the Troy Record was only good for one thing and that was for being pooped on.

We have two separate lines in our house, one through Time Warner and one through Fair Point.  Yesterday, both lines started ringing at the same time.  There was no one on the other end on either phone.  Our TW phone has caller ID so we were able to get the number from that.  Today another call came in on the TW line.  I tried calling the number to have our name removed from the lest.  I got an automated message telling me that all agents are helping other customers and asking that I please hold.  After about a minute, the line was disconnected.

In previous message, "lest" should be "list."  Must proof read before sending!

Well last Sunday 7-12-09  that number hit all 100 of my DID lines, it started around 4:35PM and ended at 7:35pm I guess I'm glad it was on a Sunday since no one was working that day, not good for a school district to have all of my PRI lines tied up.

Won't stop calling.  Doesn't leave any messages.  Doesn't answer when I pick up the phone.

I get about 3 to 4 calls a day from the above listed phone number and they do not reply to my greeting.  
I would like to have them blocked.

CLAIMED TO BE CALLING FROM MICROSOFT WANTING TO SELL US "LOCAL INTERNET ADVERTISING" THAT WOULD PUT US AT THE #1 SPOT FOR ALL INTERNET SEARCHES!!! WETHER THEY ARE SEARCHING FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO OUR BUSINESS OR NOT!!!

Found the number on my caller id.

I get a call from this number 2 times a day everyday at my work. Since we are a commercial business we can not add our number to the national do not call list. I call back and I get a "All circuits busy. This is a recording" message. If I answer the phone I get nothing but silence. I keep on the line to try to get somebody to answer (so I can waste their time as well), but nobody ever answers. So annoying.

Called me today said they were from BING search engine. Wanted to offer free ad for my business.

You also need to know that a lot of these people get your number from the National Do Not Call List.  They are playing the odds and can claim to get your number from other places.

Called us all day yesterday (at a business) about once every 3 to 5 minutes.  I finally called the number and I got a recording that said "Thank you for switching to iola telecomm (I think) as your long distance provider".  I hung up and called my phone company to report this and tell them that we did not give any authorization to switch long distance carriers.

He said he is from bing.com.
But I don't think so.
I just hung up.

I called this number back (blocked from my land line) and the nice guy that answered said that they were calling for local internet service.  When I asked if they subscribed to the National Do Not Call Registry, he said that he was new and was sure that they did.  RIGHT!! LOL

If you receive calls and are on the registry - REPORT THEM so they will be fined for breaking the law.

This company calls (sometimes numerous times) and there is no one on the call - this prompts people to call the number back - obviously trying to skirt the do not call registry because you are calling THEM back!

Called early in morning, left no message.  Based on other posts, assume Telemarketer.

As long as you are on the DNC list you can file a complaint.  If you are not on the DNC list, you can add your number at the website.  

Ugh.  These guys are obnoxious!

This number keeps calling me as well. Latest one 9:45am (pacific time) today. I couldn't get any info on them. Thanks for posting!

Been getting calls from this number last few days. When I answer there is complete silence. Finally called back and a recording said they will be with me, and then it hung up. I'm really hoping I don't get something crazy on my phone bill now.

I've been called from this number numerous times too, as well as others like it.  First, you need to know that the National Do Not Call List only updates the list every three months.  That means that new companies don't have them, at least not in updated form. Second, I called the phone company and they suggested re-registering with the NDC Registry even though I've still got two years left.  I did and it seems to have worked, because most of those nuisance calls have stopped.  For those who slip through, I try to call them back and ask to be removed from their database.  Those that are really interested in compliance actually have menus where you can just press 1 or 2 to have your number removed.  Those who aren't will keep calling no matter what you tell them and are sometimes abusive (one called over 40 times in one week, 8 times in one day.  When I finally got someone on the line they questioned my patiotism, argued with me when I told them to remove my name...and they said they were a charity not looking for donations...why bother calling and I hung up.  I immediately picked up my cell phone and left them a message saying "I'm not giving you my phone number; you already have too much info on me,  the caller's name is _____and he should be taken off the phones.  What I'm calling to tell you is that you have just been reported to the NDC Registry and told them your caller was harassing me, being rude, crude, argumentative and obnoxious).  I, personally, give any nuisance callers 3 chances, meaning, they get to call me 3 times to merely show up on Caller ID and then I report them to the NDC Registry.  My point is, it's not enough to be on the list.  You have to report the numbers, make your comments and those callers won't bother you again.  Filing the complaint is what works.  I know it's an inconvenience to have to report them since you are on the list, but it's worse to keep answering the phone only to have someone hang up on you.  Try it and see.
