2nd time this week, I got a call from here.  I, too, am on the Do Not Call list, and my phone number is unlisted as well.  My husband is employed by the IL State Police and no, they do not solicit phone calls.  I am irritated by all these phone call scams!

309-981-0506 Is ILLINOIS COUNCIL OF POLICE (ICOPS). Just google and you'll see that they are a donation SCAM. Here is copy of just one of the several warnings:

Well i got a call from this number a few minutes ago. The guy asked for my wife and when i asked who he was he hung up on me. He actually knew my wifes name.

Received a call from this number tonight and they claimed to be collecting money for the F.O.P in Chicago.  Wanted me to make a pledge and receive a decal to put in my car window.  I said no thanks and hung up.

I ask these clowns to please standby since I have a call coming in on the other line. I then put them hold and never pick up again.

I rarely answer my home phone anymore because of such calls, and I am on the Do Not Call list.  Today, I answered.  A gruff voice on the other end said something.  When I asked him to repeat, he asked to speak with the man or woman of the house.  Instead of giving an answer, I asked who was calling me.  He hung up.

I get calls from these people all the time. They claim they're collecting for the police, but they aren't. This guy has hundreds of numbers, and is believed to be in the Roselle/Bloomingdale/Schaumburg area, but with numbers from all over the country.

The last call was today (SUNDAY 12/27/09) and I certainly had nothing nice to say, and he got very rude.

Just got a call. said he was from the Illinois police a**. I told him that this was a business and to remove the nuber and he told me that he will not do that and hung up

Stated he was representing the IL State Police....told him to take me off calling list.  It's a scam.....IL State Police do NOT solicit over the phone.

Just called it back and it said it was not a working number, but previously with Magic Jack.

Hung up on me. Also hangs up on my business answering machine. Am on Do Not Call, which does not work.  See my list below of over 200 pests that call day after day and week after week for over a year.  The list represents thousands of calls in the last year since they call repeatedly and I only record about one in five calls due to lack of time.  TIME TO CHANGE THE LAWS, which have too many loopholes. I did not want ONE call. Write your federal and state legislators to CHANGE THE LAWS. Too many businesses like the phone companies are paying off the legislators to protect the telemarketers.  Phone companies make a LOT of money on this junk.

I received a call from 309-981-0506 on October 28, 2009. The phone rang 3 times and then the caller hung up before the answering machine started.

I got a call from it just now and the women I spoke to seemed weird...she said it was the police station.

Calls daily - once or twice a day for nearly 3 weeks.  No messages left.  At home when call came in; silence when picked up.  ANNOYING and disconcerting.  Called number, caller's mailbox not accepting new messages.

Same thing, been getting calls from this number for the past couple weeks.  I run a home daycare so thought it was a potential client but I think it is a telemarketer b/c they don't leave a message.

Received a call too - called back and received a message that the person at this extension number is unavailable - must be a telemarketer.
