My mother in law got a call from these people and she lives over 3 hours away from me.  They were trying to contact me and told her I would be arrested because they had served me with papers and I did not show up for court today! Such vile people! They even gave her a bogus address as to where the papers had been served. My mother in law was so upset and she is 75 years old.

We have never had a guy named JEFF working for us and we have never....I repeat...never allowed any employee of ours to impersonate a federal employee!!!! That blog statement is at least 3yrs old...so plz.....If you ever get a call from this number and you feel like an employee is misrepresenting himself call in and ask to speak to ROBERT STEIN.

Anybody with a grudge can go on line and bash another human being or corporation, in fact a lot of the negative communication on here is probably from individuals who are trying to avoid paying their bills. One thing is for certain, God is the judge of all men, you can fool man but never God! conclusion don't rush to judgement!

I received a call concerning a visa card account that i owed the balance on and i was suspicious because i had read this blog on this number..so I requested the account number , the confirmation of my social security number and that they e-mail me or fax me a letter concerning the debt and to my amazement they did everything i asked for. I researched the account number and paid my debt so I think these guys are getting a bad deal! Hey if it was fraud who would give you all of that info?

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND IT WAS PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE I PAID MY DEBT AND RECEIVED A SETTLED IN FULL LETTER ALSO THE PAYMENT OF THE DEBT WAS REPORTED TO THE THREE MAJOR CREDIT BUREAUS.......

What this crook did to you is more than a little illegal. He violated federal debt collection statutes by making illegal threats and violating privacy guidelines; and, obviously, he violated the law by impersonating an FBI agent.

You should file complaints with all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies:

1) Alert the FBI by going to https://tips.fbi.gov  Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by an extortionist over the phone who is impersonating an FBI agent. Be sure to give them all the details.

2) File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist posing as an FBI agent.

3) File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.naag.org

4) File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

If this crook calls again, be sure to tell him that you know he's a scammer and that you have already reported him to federal and state law enforcement.  Good luck.

My ralitive was call and Jeff asked for my name and told her that they found out I was involved in federal fraud and had to show up in court in 2 weeks and needed to get my number to call me. This family member refused and took his information instead. Jeff was looking for someone by a name I hadent used in over 20 years and my credit has been clean. NO FRAUD! REALY! I dont know who this Jeff is but If he is From the FBI as he said he was I will get his last name next time and contact him from within an FBI office. If he was FBI I think he would have my number and Last name correct...If not, We are all in big trouble!

I got a call from them today, too. Asking for the guy we bought our house from, who lived here 25 years ago! And never had this phone number. This is creepy. The called from 415-738-7504, but asked us to return the call to 877-961-4040 and ask for Lee or Peter Shilks or Shulks or something like that. I did call them, they asked who they had called about and they then said, "Never mind, then." when we said he didn't live here and we did not know him.

But something's fishy.

gee, what a coincidence!  My mother received the same kind of phone call but Lee was trying to contact me.  He had a lot of my information correct that is on my credit report.  But how did he get my moms new phone number.  Also the debt he was collecting was from an old visa, and was opened prior to a new open date, cause my account was bought out by another company.  Hmmm.  Something smells funny and it smells like chicken.  Thats what Lee is, because I even tried to get a website info on him so I could look it up.  And he said he didnt have that kind of info on him, and to call him back in the morning and he will have the info.  In other words f**k you and have a nice day.

I got a call around 7:30 pm, it was strange because they called asking for my step father. 1) I live in Maryland and he lives in Idaho. 2) My mother divorced him when I was 12. 3) I haven't had ANY contact with him since I was 15. 4) He doesn't know my home number, so how the f*** did he get it?

All very strange, some guy named Lee looking for him for some legal reasons. So he said. I don't know.
