It appears to be Charter Communications (usually offering something that you probably don't want!!)...They were pleasant to me but I still don't wanna change my service....

After five or six more calls, and nothing appearing on any of the phone lists, I figured I ought to know. So I picked up. I answered with a single word: "Hello!" and then was silent. None of this "Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?" I let the silence continue for 24 seconds, until they disengaged at their end. Of course, now I know what's going to happen --

Still calling at the rate of three or four times a day. I have no idea who they are. I refuse to pick up. Does no one else get calls from these people?

These busters have called me five or six times in the last 24 hours. I am no longer pleasantly disposed towards them.

No message left. "Toll Free Call" -- I'm certainly glad of that! The question I ask is, "If you never leave a message, how can I become enthused about your offer, want to learn more about it, and agree to it the next time you call?" The answer is simple: The more I know about the offer, the less I'm likely to be enthused about it. You don't want me to learn more about it. And -- by the way -- I'm very unlikely to agree to it. Give up.
