with anyone over this phone, let alone give them the number.  This crap started about a year ago.

I'm having the same problem with Jimmy! Miss Kimley says Hello Hello! This is Jimmy, and thank you for calling Jimmy! It's driving me insane and I can never get a live person, even after enduring the creepy, maybe even SCARY music. This had better stop soon or I'm calling the police.

I'm so confused by this! When ever I call back, they say hello hello, this is jimmy from jimmy, there are no jimmy agents available at this time plz hold and it plays some strange Egyptian hold music!!!
They call me 24/7 when I'm in school when I'm sleeping at 3am.  The lady who calls me, btw, says this is mrs Kimley we have some important information for you.

They hace called repeatedly including 7:05 AM this morning.
I asked them to remove my name, I am on the no call list.
They claimed that they can remove my name from the call list only if I give them my name, my address. Of course I did not obliged.

What can I/we do to stop this activity?

The do not call list is a joke, they all ignore it.

TCPA: What Is It & How Does It Affect You?

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA) does many things - including prohibiting debt collectors from calling your cell phone without your permission. Each unauthorized call could result in the debt collector paying you up to $1,500. Here's some helpful information on the Act and how it might affect you.
What is the TCPA?

The TCPA, which was signed into law in 1991 under the first Bush Administration and codified under 47 U.S.C. 227, prohibits calls using any automatic telephone dialing system or artificial or prerecorded voices to:

?Emergency telephone lines
?Telephone lines of any guest room or patient room at a hospital, health care facility, elderly home or similar establishment
?Telephone numbers assigned to paging services, cellular telephone services, specialized mobile radio services, other radio common carrier services or any service for which the called party is charged for the call
?Any telephone call to a residential telephone line
?Send unauthorized faxes

The only way that a caller won't violate the statute is if express consent has been given - and violations of the TCPA are steep. An unintentional call carries a damage amount of $500; an intentional call carries a damage amount of $1,500. That's per call and regardless of the purpose of the call. In other words, if they call you using an automated dialing system without your consent, they've violated the Act and you are entitled to damages.

How does it affect you?

Most debt collectors use automatic telephone dialing systems to contact debtors. You'll recognize this when you go to pick up the phone and there is a slight hesitation on the other end. In fact, most debt collectors are calling nearly 100 people at a time just waiting for someone to answer. Although many have stopped calling landlines, cell phones are another story. Since more and more people are using cell phones either instead of, or in addition to, traditional landlines, debt collectors are finding their cell phone numbers using skip tracers, calling them and hoping that they don't realize that the TCPA has been violated.

They call and call and won't stop. Just got a new cell phone and they keep calling it. I tell them They have the wrong party, but they won't stop calling.  Now they just ring my phone and hangup before I can answer. This is the Ginny's mail order company. If you try to call them back they just leave you on hold indefinitely unless you call their customer service line which is 1-800-693-0809. Everyone should call them back on this customer service line.

Got a lot of calls from this number. Bought new cell phone and they are apparently trying to reach the person who previousely had this number.  I tell them they have the wrong party, but they won't stop calling, so I reported them to the Attorney general. Now they just call and hang up before I can answer the phone. This is the debt collection department of a mail order company named Ginny's. Their customer service line is 1-800-693-0809: If you want to call them back you will have to use this line if you want them to answer; they do not answer the 877-998-5872 line.

They keep calling me too on my new cell phone, asking for Beverly. I keep telling them this is not her number anymore, but they just keep calling.  Reported them to the Attorney Generals Office through the Attorney Generals website in my state.  If enough people do that they will be investigated.  The form is easy to fill out and you can be anonymous if you like.

Yep! they keep calling me too.  I just got this cell phone and have never ordered anything from these people either. They keep asking for Beverly.  Told them this is a newly issued phone and it is not Beverly's number anymore; to please remove my number from their calling list.  They just ignore your request and call again and again. Tried calling them back as I missed the last call--put on hold, no one ever answered--wasted my minutes. I may have to get a new cell phone and throw this one away when my minutes are used up.  What a dbitch! Sounds like scammers.

They have called me 8 times and it is a recorded message. I called the number and got a recorded message asking for my account number on the back of the catalog. I pressed the number symbol and talked with a person and told them that I had reported them to the national do not call registery. They asked for my name and address which I refused to give to them. I told them not to call me anymore that the person they are asking for no longer has the phone number they are calling. I will see what happens.

Michelle replies to Mimi ... Loss not LOST ... And that would me MINE and not MINES ...
Go back to school. And that would be THEIR ... not THEY ... Who is the IGNAT now? or whatever word you made up! Michelle why so critical?! People like you alienate the concern masses. The idea of the message collumn is to report unwanted calls, not to give an English lesson. Maybe Dear Mrs. Michelle someday you will get off the back dusty trail and drive onto the highway of recognizing you aren`t everyones sunshine of their life. Accept the fact all U.S.A. citizens have 5th  amendment constitutional rights, which u have just   challenged  with your sticker shocker campaign of proper English  grammer usage.                                      And that would me MINE and not MINES ...   Oh Michelle, I almost forgot  ...That would  (be) mine and not mines/.......,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, mine and mines, loss- lost, their- they, all in small letters?                                       u ims assessment has bien DECLINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not true!  My $25 payment was 2 weeks late, I called and let them know that I would pay $50 rather than the $25 due, and would do so on a specific date that was less than a week hence, I was told that would be ok.  They continued to call four to seven times a day, and did so until a week AFTER I paid them.  Don't they check their own records?  Will NEVER do business with Ginny's again.

The call was regarding my Ginny's account.  I ordered something in September but returned it within five days because of quality/cost issues.  Nothing really wrong with the item, but just not as expected and I was able to find a better product at a lower price.  Anyhow, they charged $27.99 in SHIPPING CHARGES on a $75 or $80 item, and the shipping charges were still on my account, which I completely forgot about as I rarely order from this company.  They called my home phone and my cell phone a total of four times in 30 minutes yesterday afternoon, and when I finally called them back, explained what was going on.  After talking to a customer service person who was wonderful, a supervisor who was very nice, and the supervisor's supervisor who was also very pleasant, they agreed to take the charges off my account as a "one-time" courtesy.  So, while their continued calling was a nuisance, there was a balance on my account that they were nice enough to remove.  I think this is one of those companies that, if you work with them, they'll do all they possibly can to help you out.
