Add your number to the national do not call registry on http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/phonefraud/report.shtml. Call the number and add your phone number. These people called me from 5 different numbers every hour for over 3 weeks everyday! Within 2 days of adding my number to the national registry they stopped calling! Thank god! I was going crazy with the constant phone calls at 5am!!

Yes, they are nonstop and they are located in India! I have filed an FBI report on these JERKS! They stole my identity in June 2011. Have NO idea how they got it either! They have a TON of numbers they call from! Don't give them the satisfaction of answering!

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

This is for a payday loan company.  I have been the victim of identity theft, and this is just one of the many numbers that called me regarding a loan requested by a "Wendy Boucher."  I am not Wendy Boucher.  This number hangs up rudely and immediately, but other companies have been kind enough to initiate a fraud investigation.  But that is what this is.  Of course they might have many scams running, but I can assure you, that at least one of the scams is a payday loan.

He called me a "F**got".   He may be using fake accent.  An Asian/Arab Guy called said I was approved for an auto loan.  They have your information what are they going to do....  Be careful, what you put on the internet...  started with Walmart gift card offer.  When I asked to be removed from his list and hung up, he call right back and left a message calling me a "F**got".  Somebody please stop these guys before I go find him.

They called my cell....I am use to this game now.  I have been dealing with these types of idiots since 2009!!  I get a new batch of "calls" every 6-8 months.  I have learned to add them on my reject list on my cell phone so when they call they go right to my voice mail.  My voice mail does not identify my name at all, so they have no idea who they are calling

The reason why the Do Not Call List does not work with your requests is because it is an international number / company and does not apply to US regulations. Do Not Call is only under US regulation and therefore companies in the US, or are under contract with these companies, hold accountability for violating the list. Code 882 is a European universal satellite phone carrier that ranges from Ireland to the Caribbean and is prominent in the middle east. I strongly caution not answering the phone when any number starting with the 882 code and especially when 011 or any exit code is in front of it. It is a 100% scam and will result in identity theft if ANY information is given to the caller. They already have your identity or the identity of whom ever previously owned your number. They are calling you to verify if the information they purchased illegally was a good investment. BEWARE!

This number has called me every single day for weeks, sometimes twice a day. Most of the time when I answer no one is there. But if I continue saying hello they eventually come on the line. They tell me I have been approved for a car loan that I applied for. I have told them numerous times to take me off their call  list and that I did not apply for a loan. They immediately hang up. Sometimes I get a blocked call just moments later that hangs up when I answer. I want five minutes alone in a room with these maggots!

Receieved a call from this number (8824124111) and when I called back it said this number is unavailable at this time....but it's everytime.  Then when the same number called me back a few hours later, it was a foreiign man asking for me and when I responded saying "who is this" he said he was calling about a request I had for a car loan.  I was like "I NEVER requested for a car loan" and he immediately hung up the phone.  I am super pissed and kind of nervous even though just today I put in for a do not call request, to recieve this kind of phone call and get that kind of response left me on edge a bit.  I want this number to be investigated and I hope if they do, they get a big fine and lose whatever scam of a business they are trying to do.  Just plain ridiculous.

This company is a Debt Collection company. They purchase old debts from companies that got tired of trying to collect and have written the debt off. The new Company purchases the debt for pennies on the dollar and then contacts you.

The reality is that when we/you/I hear "Law Firm", we immediately assume that they are legit. Rest assured that they are not. They use "Power" words stating "there is documentation on my desk" "immediate action" and so on. The truth is that they are reading from a provided script and have a rebuttal sheet for any excuse you may have.

Follow my guide and you should be fine:
1) Never acknowledge the debt - The Debt Collectors Act/Statute of limitations varies state to state. This means each state has established a time-frame in which a debt can be collected; typically 4/7 years. The time started when you last acknowledged the debt was yours. So if it has been past 4 years and the law for your state is 4, then the debt collection company is fishing in hopes of scaring you into paying the debt.

2) A debt collector can only contact your employer to verify that you are employed there. That's it! Look up your states Debt Collectors Act and inform yourself. Knowledge is power and the debt collectors assume you are powerless.

3) Typically debt collectors have accents, so play on this and irritate them as they do you. Tell them you cannot understand them and to please speak English because that is the only language you understand. Be polite, but keep asking them to speak English; they will get frustrated and hang up. Lol!
