This place has been calling me for 5 years, on and off.  Not once have I answered or returned their calls.    Don't answer their calls, don't give them money, don't acknowledge they exist.  That is the best way to handle them, even if they are calling in regards to a legitimate debt.  Let the statute of limitations on the debt run out.  99% of the time a payday loan debt in collections will not show up on your credit report.  ONLY WORRY ABOUT WHAT SHOWS UP ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT.  This is the only thing that matters to lenders.

I work at a switchboard with approximatey 25000 employees.  This caller does not state WHO they are calling regarding and I don't feel that I should be the one to call back.  Is there anyone of stopping calls like this?

have received a call from this company telling me I would need to identify myself to them, they did not use my name, do they think I am stupid or something.  They say that I have violated some FTC law but never use my name and that I must call immediately.  They need to get themselves an attorney because I will turn my voice message that they let to the DA of my county and let them deal with this morons.

I've been getting calls from different sources and numbers for the last year and a half regarding a pay day loan that I took out over seven years ago.....the loan was paid off, but they claim that I committed fraud and wrote bad checks, etc. These are the same clowns, trying to act like they're some legal machine that's going to come to your house or work and throw you in prison. Trust me when I say they are nobody with any authority.......they are a bunch of opportunists who buy old debt and try to collect on it......they're not a company, agency, or firm. They have the modern day technology working for them by hacking into your personal information and trying to use it against you......they're almost impossible to stop, and don't even try talking to them as they will talk over you and start using obscenities when they can't con you.......they have called my brother, my daughter and my home. Last week I had one of their idiots talking to himself, he got mad, told me he was going to hand it back to his "client" and let them handle it!!! Well, apparently his client found a new bunch of buffoons........if they call you, don't sweat it......the crimes they've told me I've committed would've had me in federal prison seven years ago.

Got a call from these guys, leaving a message about some fraud alert or something.

I routinely get and ignore calls from scammers threatening legal action (looking up the numbers invariably shows that they are known to be scamming).  Looks like this is a newer one.

I was especially amused by the phone number being 885 274 6648, yet the automated voicemail told me to call 855 274 6648.  They can't even get their own phone number right.

Don't call back, I'd suggest.

LOVE this!   'caller left a message "This is the fraud division of American Acceptance Solutions...'

FINALLY, they seem to be more honestly identifying themselves ... FRAUDS!!

Sorry.  I've gotten so I don't let these types calls bother me anymore.  Instead, I just laugh and enjoy the humor. (well, AFTER reporting them to several of the authorities, that is)

"US Fraud Department".  --  roflmao, now THAT is more honest than anything else these folks have spewed out!  Although, there are some other collection agencies that probably can't even spell FDCPA that might get a little jealous that these folks are using the title!

The caller left a message "This is the fraud division of American Acceptance Solutions....call us back and be prepared to give us you personal information". It is just a bill collector with a different twist to get you to confirm your identity. Once they do that they will try to get you to admit you owe a $ amout to a credit card company. They do this so they can extend the statute of Limitations or even reopen it. IT IS BEST TO KEEP YOU MOUTH SHUT to get past the statute of limitions or just file bankruptcy so they way they can never attempt to call you.

I have been repeatedly called from this number. The name of the company is American Acceptance.  They lead you to believe you have been named in a fraud related case.  I'm pretty confident I am not named in any lawsuit, whether it be for me or against me.  Just a big pain in the butt every time they call.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I get a call from this number 3 to 4 times a day telling me I am in violation of penal codes.  Yesterday they up the threat a bit and said they would be at my home or place of employment to serve me papers in the next 2 hours.  First of all they are looking for someone that is not me, second of all if they know where I live they could have mailed me notification long ago.  This has been going on for me for about 3 years give or take.  I get one of their numbers blocked and they just start calling from another.  Annoying as they are I dont even answer any of their calls but my voicemail gets to have the pleasure now. Honestly no matter what you do they are going to call.

I just received the call on my business line. they never said who they where calling for. At least say who the call is for. and than they ask that you call back and id yourself. Sounds like they are looking for anyone who will call back in and once you id yourself they pin whatever it suppose to be on you. I hope they don't keep calling here that would be annoying. And when did law officials start threaten people if there is any kind of faud they come and get you not call an make threats.

I received a call from this number on a business line.  ThIt is a robo-call that never identifies who they are calling.  It would be nice if these people could be stopped.  Or at least if a person were on the line, then I could threaten them right back.  Oh well

Well after the first message I went investigating on the internet to BBB. Interesting what I  found out about this company. They have an "F" rating seems they have had complaints before about them. One thing is that they harass people  above and beyond what is called for as debt collectors, yeah, that is what they are, Apparently they don't know what the rules are concerning calls being made for debts as there are numerous complaints about them. Interesting article if a person likes snooping:

--National Acceptance Aka Continental Credit Aka American Acceptance Aka American Credit Ripoff Unfair Debt Collection Practice results in Judgment Bowling Green Kentucky--

another complaint.

Yeah,,so, see what I mean? Jelly bean?  This is just three things I got on them so far,
