I answered on 1st ring. No one there.  
888 is not a real area code.
Many calls from "no number listed" also.  They found a way around the "no call list" by calling with a non existing number.  They can't be blocked either with blocking services.

same here he claime that he is doctor and want to speak to me... i refused to answer the call..he hang up without any messages............

Received a call by this number on 6/21/08, 9:11am. No one on the other end. Has anyone thought of this;? Whoever is calling is just listening for background noise. Maybe what your watching on TV or the raido? Maybe if you have children noise in the background? Called the number back and got a record message said not a vaild number.

Called at about 10:30 am Sunday morning. No message left.

Got a call at 5:32pm on a Saturday - no one there.

No answer on the phone.  It called my cell number.

Got the same call on my cell about 4:22pm pdt on my cell phone. The message said it was coming from California in regards to a post I supposedly made and said to go to atm700.com.

I got the call and it said to go ATM700.com

Didn't pick up since the number looked suspicious, but they left a message. The call was from a company called Dermstore calling about a product that was on my account as an auto-refill.

Picked it up, but no answer.

Damn a***oles just woke me up.

Same as the others. This time to a business line. It's bad enough on the home phone, but it wastes valuable time at my business...

I JUST GOT CALLED AT 5:59 today

Saw 1 website that named the company as NCO Group. http://www.ncogroup.com/ Haven't been able to verify that yet so take this with a grain of salt. Sounds like they are verifying their phone lists. Computer dials the #, gets a ring, records the number as valid, hangs up, dials the next #.

I just got this call a few minutes ago and like I am doing with all these scam calls is using my *60 service and boy I never get anymore calls from the same number or company again. See if your phone company offers this service and get it. I have mine with AT&T in case anyone has them, sure worth the few bucks I pay never to have them call me again. Also if your name is on the do not call list report this and any other number to them via the website. If they get enough complaints maybe we can shut these scammers down for good.

It is a company called NCO that claims you owe money on credit cards that you have never had. It is a scam and every time you think you stopped them they start again. They claimed I owe thousands on a Discover Card. I have never had a discover card. They ask you to send them your signature and then they change their records to show your signature. DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THEM. Just hang up

Called at 9:17am on Saturday morning.  No one there, just clicks.

Like B, I just rcvd this call on my cell. Hung up before I could answer. Called back - got "call could not be completed as dialed" as with some of the other posts.

When I picked up no one answered. When I called back no signal.  It was my cell.  Looks like others have the same issue on their cells.

Hung up when answered. Got # from *69.  Tried to call it back but got recoring, I'm sorry the number you are calling can not be reached byt his method?? Please call your operator for assistance.
